I hope you enjoyed this fun skit I made based off my wild experience working at the Front Desk of a hotel. I have PLENTY of these stories that I can't wait to share with you all!
If you have a story of your experiences working at hotels, or just in customer service in general, please share it with me! I may even make a skit out of it! 😉

I had someone try to pull the exact opposite on me back when I worked at Steak n Shake. For context, Happy Hour is 2-5am and 2-5pm Monday-Friday. Friday night rolled over into Saturday morning, and this lady and her two kids who looked to be around 5-7 came through my drive through asking for Happy Hour shakes. I tried to tell her that we don't have HH on weekends, and she tried to argue that it was still Friday night. I had to explain to her multiple times that once Midnight hits, the calendar rolls over to Saturday, making it the weekend with no HH. She then gets mad at ME because SHE kept HER kids up to 2am to get milkshakes. Like, lady, I'm not the one who forced your kids to stay up 6 hours past normal bedtime hours to give them sugar.

Instead, I just hung out at the 24hr Tim Horton's (cafe) and walked around the town. @@islandrebelmakeup4653 When someone calls me and asks for an early check in the next day (I work 3-11pm...) I usually say something to the effect of, "It depends on how busy tonight is. I can't promise anything right now, but if there's a room available, we can accommodate you. It's best to call an hour or two before you get here, though, so the morning person can try to get housekeeping to get a room ready for you, but that's still not a guarantee."
I mean, unless it's wedding season and _everyone_ in the wedding party wants to check in early to get ready for the wedding that starts at 2. In those cases, we're firm on the 3pm checkin time and subtly tell them either they should have planned their time better or to yell at the wedding planner for scheduling the ceremony before the hotel checkin time.

Years ago in my twenties I was driving across the US to do an internship in southern California. On my way I was visiting a bunch of National Parks, and Arches was one of my stops. On my way through Utah, a torrentous thunderstorm with hail the size of Skittles came down. When I got to the hotel in Moab just outside of the park, it was chaos there. I had no reservation, and zero hope of getting a room there, or anywhere for that matter in this scenario. When I got to the front desk and asked if there was anything available, the man said that there was a 4-bed room that I could use for one night at the cost of a 2-bed for the same stay. But a hotel doesn't lock its doors, which apparently lets some people think they have 24-hour check-in service. Also, rooms don't clean themselves, and not simultaneously. Having worked in bars & nightclubs to 3am or 5am we sometimes went to a cafe after.
Was confusing when we talked about "last night" or "tomorrow" in A.M. hours. We came up with: It's a new day when we see a tram (start around 5am), hear train, or becomes dawn. lol
So then knew if was night just passed, or night before; Or if was day upcoming or the next day we were talking about. My city has 24 hours public transport on Fri's & Sat's, so that wrecks that axiom, lol.
In bars & nightclubs, the a.m. after midnight is still promoted as being the Sunday night, even tho the computers & tills change over at 12:01am. Except at recovery "nights" that start at 5am or 7am lol.
By the way when asking people to leave at end of trade in a.m., a few would think Monday night too, but there's entirely different reason for that! :P.
I worked in couple of hotels too, but as bar person in the bar/s, cafe or restaurant. So my job to make the customer happy again!
A lot of places, particular holiday packages & hotel packages now put start time & finish time with date, for their "days", not just a check-in & check-out time.
Many places in hospitality also put 11.59pm or 12:01pm, if there's a changeover (computers, staff, etc) as many people aren't sure what/when 12am & 12 pm is.
Perhaps they might need to put English translations of (the Latin) a.m. "ante meridiem", & p.m. "post meridiem," as well.

They also came to get a free breakfast at check in and another breakfast when the check out. Those were the most difficult to explain. I chose the night shift because I usually don’t have to work with too many guests. I am not a people person to begin with so doing my best imitation of someone who gives a fig about the Karen’s is a challenge.

If i think im going to be even remotely early for check-in I let let them know beforehand and tell them the time and ask what can they do. (And I mean if I need to leave my bags with them until check-in time or if they have availability to do a early check-in) typically I ask if they can hold my bags first but if they have availability for me to check-in at that time they tell me.

Considering I don't sleep well on plane, I know that all I'll want to do is sleep once I arrive, which won't be an option if check-in is in the afternoon/evening.
