    Yeay! I am so glad that you made this recipe hydrogenated 40 castor oil. I made my own diy trial and error an emulsifying cleansing oil recipe that doesn't separate. I found out that H40CO doesn't separate and made the formulation clear (in Malaysia, you don't have to melt because it is already in liquid form, maybe because of our tropical weather) but i wasn't sure whether is it just my discovery. I was waiting for you to make the cleansing oil with H40CO because i wanted to know the outcome. Glad that you made this video. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching! And enjoy that beautiful hot weather-it's still snowing here even though it's supposed to be spring, ha.

      @@HumblebeeAndMe So I made this today, subbing soybean for the safflower and polysorbate 80 for the PEG40 as I didn't have either. It turned out so amazing! I can't believe I actually made it and it works perfectly I'm so chuffed 😊 I absolutely love it, thank you for the recipe and video 🥰

    Hey Marie! Thank you so much for yet another great video and providing the formulation for free! I noticed a lot of commercial cleansers have dipropylene glycol in them. I have some and wanted to incorporate that into this. What could I swap out to include it and what percentage would you recommend? I don't have supplier info :(

      Thank you so much! I am definitely wearing makeup, though :) I do have pretty nice skin, but I don't want anyone thinking it's "not wearing makeup when I'm actually wearing makeup" level good ❤️

    Hi. I tried making this, but after a while, something separates from the rest of the oil and collects in the bottom. I just shake the bottle before using.
    But, did it also happen to your formulation?

    How does the texture of this compare to the cleansing gel in your previous video once it's emulsified? Is one creamier or easier to rinse off? I'm excited to try these, thanks for the great videos!

      I'd say they are pretty similar once mixed with water :)

    hi Marie, i tried using Isopropyl Myristate at 20% and it made me breakout. And when i researched online, it is shown that IPM is comodogenic hence why it clogs pores, leading to a break out. My question is, with a higher count of 25% IPM in this formula, won't it make things worse on the pore clogging side?

    • @rebeccak1658
      @rebeccak1658 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used only 5ml in my face oils and so many breakouts. Tbh I would just use a different oil. I'll be using my IM in my hair oils but even that's risky

      Isopropyl Myristate dried out my skin and broke me out. I wouldn’t put it in my hair products.

    On your blog; the substitutes for Safflower Oil does not include Sweet Almond Oil but the substitutes for Sweet Almond Oil does include Safflower Oil. Because of my location and availability of oils I was thinking to use Sweet Almond Oil. Would it be feasible to use Sweet Almond Oil for this formula/recipe?

    I found IPM (98%), is it the same as the one you’re using? Or is there any specific percentage?

    I have tried to source isopropyl myristate on the Internet everywhere The places I have found that sells it sells it in liquid form. Would this still work for me? I noticed in the recipe yours was in cream form in a jar would you mind sharing where you bought it?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isopropyl myristate (IPM) is liquid :) The photo you saw on the blog is the PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil.

  • @AB4Jss
    @AB4Jss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can this still work without the hydrogenated castor oil? I have everything except that. My supplier only sells bulk hydrogenated castor oil.

    • @TracyD2

      A Fajardo It might not rinse off as well. You can use it as a first step cleansing oil followed by a regular face wash. That’s my guess anyway.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't recommend it as it will decrease wash-off (thanks Tracy!). Check the blog post for substitution ideas :) Happy making!

    • @luannrobertson152

      This is an all oil formula so no preservative is necessary.

    just bought a cleansing balm that includes honey and how I'm googling the ingredients because I see vitamin E and an emulsifier, but I see no preservative. Have you ever tried to include honey in a cleansing oil/balm and should a mix that includes that have a preservative?

    • @Sandra-hc7hj
      @Sandra-hc7hj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my understanding, Vitamin E, also called Tocopherol is the preservative. The concentration yields different effects but if there is no other preservative listed that is likely what it's purpose is in that product

    • @DarlingWheresthecoffee
      @DarlingWheresthecoffee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vitamin E is a preservative

    I am having so much trouble recognizing 0.4 or 0.5 grams on my scales. I have purchased 2 different scales you’ve shown and never know if I’m measuring correctly or not. I’m sure not. Could you show a visual of what the scale readout on those smaller amounts looks like.? I’m sorry if I sound stupid. Please advise.
