80s & 90s were the golden years of cricket. Players like Gavaskar, Kapil, Vishwanath, Zahir Abbas, Imran, Miandad…. They were a treat to watch.

only someone with a great heart can accept his rival superstar's greatness while he himself was one of those top 4 legendary allrounders, the way he is talking about Imran Khan.

Fantastic players and Kapil is most simple, humble and built for sports human - his fielding, spirit and bowling single-handedly on dead dusty wickets for 5 days…. coming back from injuries and carrying the hopes of billions. That 183 in those times in crucial WC game at 18/5! Or 4 consecutive 6s in England to save follow on by 1 run batting with last wicket! L.E.G.E.N.D. He and Sunny Gavaskar - are as good poster heroes as they come not just in India but anywhere in the world. I love Kapil can be outrageous - and love his English - but I can salute him every time for his honesty.
And what can one say for Wasim Akram - probably all time best leftie fast bowler ever may be (and I don’t say that easily for everyone). Never understood how ANY opening batsmen would play him for ANY of his spells .. that whippy fast action and ball swinging in, or holding its line or a nasty quick bouncer - apart from Martin Crowe there was no one who could ever play him as normal bowler. Only Bumrah at his peak as bit of uncanny similarity with hitting the bat or producing lethal bouncer. Gosh these are great great players who made Test cricket so much fun to watch (even on those dead stupid wickets!)

Also his throw from boundary line to the keeper when he is fielding near the boundary line...Flat throw into the keeper's gloves....He is a legend

In late 90's Rajesh Chauhan avenged the last ball six by Miandad to win the game. India needed 6 runs in the last ball of the game against Pakistan, Mr. Chauhan hit a six of that last ball of the innings from the Pakistani bowler and India won the game & the series.

Most tragic is indians and pak nationals talk like they are living in one home but sad is politics and rivalry destroyed everything.. as neutral relative, I respect every of them and want to have so much tournaments between the two...Medias try to show the greatness, but everything is show...where is your relation..Now you can't play with each other!

What I hv understood till date is players who make their name in international games..no doubt they r all talented..but I believe what makes them well known in the world is they get supporting people, families, conditions to play, which helps them to show their proper game..I hv seem many boys who r Gud but they get lost in poor conditions..and get lost in world..
