When the trench gun was used during the second game the medic was killed and removed from the board which meant the squad member that was also killed should never have been placed back on the board as the medic can only use its ability if it’s on the board which it was not being killed by use of the trench gun.
Oh snap, that's a great point! I was in a pretty good position then, and if I had been able to sneak out after finishing that objective, I reallythink I would have had a shot at destroying the ship at the dock.
Multiple rules goofs here, but nothing too major. Biggest issue is that Tom should have taken noise token when completing first objective and revealed themselves on the space.
I am making it to where you can’t use intel the first two turns that’s seems so OP. Thematically if you were sneaking onto a base all three areas of a base wouldn’t just “randomly” scout their area for enemies if they had zero idea what was happening
The defensive team does not pick their officer special powers until the sniper has his three loadout cards. Otherwise the sniper can select cards specific to the three officer special powers. e.g. if defense picks the Medic the sniper better have rock or they will have a hard time getting an objective if the defense plants a soldier on it.
As Defenders, the point of the game is not to "find" the sniper, the point is to slow the sniper down so he runs out of time. Defenders should do more blocking to protect the objectives. In this playthrough, the players are leaving objectives undefended hoping to reveal the sniper.
@@nobled1050 So true. I love Tom's banter too when he plays. There is a magical dialogue and comedy chemistry with Tom, Zee, and Mike that just appeals to me.
I played my first game of this yesterday, absolutely loved it. I also own mind MGMT and Fury of Dracula. I am not the biggest fan of Mind MGMT - I'll be giving Mind to my brother since it's one of his favorite games. I'll keep Sniper Elite for a 2 player hidden movement game, and continue to bust out Fury of Dracula when we are more than 2.
@@eternity_complex Tom was really unlucky in his pull at the start. So odds were stacked against him. Chris got boxed in - which I think after a few plays you see how to avoid that. I ended up winning as the sniper. On my way to completing the first objective I was worried that the game would be too easy. But as soon as I completed the first objective, the tension was elevated and I barely won - completing the 2nd objective with 1 other turn left for the Germans. I'll need more plays to determine the balancing of both sides - but I don't think the two games here are representative of the difficulty for the snipers. I don't think it's easy, but it's not impossible.
@@eternity_complex The indoor map was tricky, and I believe I pointed out after the game that I should have used my equipment better. The S-Mine would have let me complete the objective and I had a sneak card that miiiight haven't me get to the submarine.
Keep in mind this is a double-sided map and we show off both sides plus the expansion map after the play around 1:34:00. The outdoor maps seem more thematically fitting.
I think this game is thematically closer to "Sniper Elite, the video game" than being a sniper per se... and Karl Fairburne (the protagonist of the video game series) is arguably a ninja :p

Yes you could have looted the objective the next turn and moved out of the room.

It fits just fine. These are key war sights that are occupied so of course they'd do a full sweep.
You can always run to a different sector on turn 1 so it doesn’t break the game.

None of the hunters have object permanence. The sniper is just covering his eyes on the empty catwalk, and they just can't see him

You actually start off the board, so 1 movement to get onto the board. Which has to be action #1 on turn 1 for sniper
I’m pretty sure Chris can’t shoot Tom at 24:30? Isn’t he shooting “through” an enclosed space which is illegal?

Is the game as tough for the solo sniper as it seems? Are the other maps more open? This indoor map seems very claustrophobic...
