And in addition to that, physical capability/stamina doesn’t really mean that much in this day and age... a lot of people carry guns. Mike Tyson was the best. I remember showing up a minute late to my buddy's house, to watching one of Mike's fights. I picked up some beer and snacks on the way. The fight was over.
I've met Mike 3 times, and he's a very insecure guy. He assumes everyone is mocking him, or looking for a reason to mock him. He's been through a lot of shit, and it's made him very defensive. If you laugh when he's being serious, even if it's from nerves, he'll assume you are looking down on him or dismissing what he is saying. Mike is so misunderstood, he wasn’t ever a dummy like ppl made out for years he just sounded funny. Older wiser Mike is actually pretty philosophical and very intelligent. And in my opinion, fought some of the toughest rounds on the planet. The most damage from a guy not close to 6 ft tall and 199-218 in his prime. The thing is that Joe had Mike on his podcast about 6 months ago when Tyson wasn't contemplating about fighting again , and at the time he was very mellow and was still doing marijuana. Joe had to readjust a little the 2nd time around to a more aggressive and harsh Tyson due to his ego being literally unleashed since resuming training. I've listened to either podcasts and in both occasions Joe handled the conversations very well without any issues - those are just clips taken out of context hence harsher - but really funny nevertheless!

I think it was "Face" but yes you are correct. I did a Kick boxing tournament one time (1st one) and its true, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. The very first punch , the guy busted my nose with a jab. and after that you are on the defense the rest of the fight! I could barely see, barely breathe, and he tagged me at least 2 or 3 more times in the nose, I had to feel it to make sure it was still there! lol Of Course I find out after the fight the guy i fought had been fighting for about 4 years at a local gym. Where I fought they just kinda match you up the best they can, and it was really just for entertainment, but it is true!

Mike came up said two words and waved everyone to come towards him. And about 3,000 screaming teenagers did just that. They caused a stampede that knocked down the stage, the entire cast of VIPs attending including a priest. He ran for his life out the rear entrance and hopped into his limousine that sped away. That's how popular Tyson was at one time.

I dont think Mike would ever do anything to Joe, there was a clear amount of respect shown between the two during the whole interview. I disagree. If you listen to his podcast episodes before the toad doctor episode and listen to the podcast after, you will see a big difference in Mike and it’s for the better. Before Mike did the toad, he spoke less on his own show. Eben was carrying most of the convos and I’m not a fan of his surfer voice so I just stuck to listening to the show because well, it’s Mike fucking Tyson. But soon after his toad episode, I noticed a better change in Mike. I love this new Mike. It made him lose 100lbs to better his health. If anything, Mike is STABLE and he is thriving.

Mike Tyson was the best. I remember showing up a minute late to my buddy's house, to watching one of Mike's fights. I picked up some beer and snacks on the way. The fight was over.
I've met Mike 3 times, and he's a very insecure guy. He assumes everyone is mocking him, or looking for a reason to mock him. He's been through a lot of shit, and it's made him very defensive. If you laugh when he's being serious, even if it's from nerves, he'll assume you are looking down on him or dismissing what he is saying. His defences kick in so fast, he doesn't have time to properly assess why you might be luaghing, so he doubles down on serious.

The thing is that Joe had Mike on his podcast about 6 months ago when Tyson wasn't contemplating about fighting again , and at the time he was very mellow and was still doing marijuana. Joe had to readjust a little the 2nd time around to a more aggressive and harsh Tyson due to his ego being literally unleashed since resuming training. I've listened to either podcasts and in both occasions Joe handled the conversations very well without any issues - those are just clips taken out of context hence harsher - but really funny nevertheless!

I think it was "Face" but yes you are correct. I did a Kick boxing tournament one time (1st one) and its true, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. The very first punch , the guy busted my nose with a jab. and after that you are on the defense the rest of the fight! I could barely see, barely breathe, and he tagged me at least 2 or 3 more times in the nose, I had to feel it to make sure it was still there! lol

Mike Tyson came to my High School when he was still fighting. Our entire basketball gymnasium (the largest in the state) was packed.
Mike came up said two words and waved everyone to come towards him. And about 3,000 screaming teenagers did just that. They caused a stampede that knocked down the stage, the entire cast of VIPs attending including a priest. He ran for his life out the rear entrance and hopped into his limousine that sped away. That's how popular Tyson was at one time.

I disagree. If you listen to his podcast episodes before the toad doctor episode and listen to the podcast after, you will see a big difference in Mike and it’s for the better.
Before Mike did the toad, he spoke less on his own show. Eben was carrying most of the convos and I’m not a fan of his surfer voice so I just stuck to listening to the show because well, it’s Mike fucking Tyson. But soon after his toad episode, I noticed a better change in Mike. I love this new Mike.
It made him lose 100lbs to better his health. If anything, Mike is STABLE and he is thriving.
