  • The Sahel region of West Africa is one of the harshest places to live on earth: 110º heat and access to clean water is rare. This September, you can help change that.

We in the West, take our water for granted and we complain when it rains. We are so fortunate as this video emphasises. Thank you.

It’s been 6 years...what has been done in the Sahel? The water situation is the same.

In light of the current Icewater Challenge for another great cause, it's good to be able to share with those concerned about the potential waste of water that something can be and is being done about the areas of the world where clean, healthy water is scarce. Thank you!

"My wish is that all people find peace & live easily w/out water difficulties." #levoinspired Thank you for this inspiring video, *****. It reminds us of the one thing we take for granted on a daily basis; clean water.

Very moving. I just wish I could keep up with the subtitles. Longer and larger would be of help.

very sad truth, we will spend spilling thousands of liters per day and thousands of them dying from lack of clean water.

    I think it's a great video.
We are a group that will participate in Trailwalker and we want to make a video to get money for Oxfor intermon.
With all my respect we want to ask you permission to use some of the images of your video.
Po supposedly appear in the header of the final video and send you a copy.
    How about?

Does it rain there ever? Perhaps they have get assistance with capturing the water that falls. How would the area change if all the rain that hit the ground was captured, even in the soil?

Yea, a region without (clean) water is called: non-inhabitable. We could probably bring them water, then food and then clothes and everything else; however, who's gonna give ME (*edit*: & you) stuff? Nobody, that's right. ;)

I am a geologist who has worked in both fossil fuel (coal and oil) and groundwater exploration here in Northern Mexico. One real problem is that climate change-induced drought is expanding deserts into areas that had sparse, but adequate, rainfall to support crops, livestock, and people. The people most affected by climate change are often least responsible for it (i.e. they don't drive SUV gas guzzlers that put out "greenhouse" gasses.) But, our time is comming too as Australia, the American Southwest, and other "developed" mid-latitude regions experience increasing drought.
