Be careful on windy days in Iceland! When I visited Seljalandsfoss in late September '21, a wind gust hit my rental car door as I was opening it in the parking lot. The wind was so strong (60+mph gusts) that it forced the door out of my hands and forward against the car's frame. It caused significant damage and I only then noted that this exact scenario was not covered by the rental insurance I purchased! Tips to avoid this are to only park facing the wind or in sheltered spots.
The nature is very powerful, and the scenery of ice and snow is so beautiful！
This is the first time I saw a rainbow so close to the ground, it was really amazing！

🌤🌞🌠For the start, Those drone shots were amazing, such a great capture of the whole area and the other falls. The cave waterfall is still kind of my favorite. All the little homes in the middle of nowhere is what it is like where I live, even in the winter, it looks just like what you are experiencing, we just don't have the mountains, only flat land with rolling hills. Love the fact that Carol wanted to stop at the little church, so many vloggers always seem to ignore churches or cathedrals, I find them beautiful and a spiritual kind of peace when in another country. I love the black lava sand beach and the footage of the rocks out off the shore with the arch looked some breath taking to me. In Wyoming we have devils tower, and natural world wonder. It to is an old volcano cauldrons where the outer part of the volcano outer walls got washed away by the centuries from weather and glaciers. In Mammoth mountain their are the same formations called the devils post pile. It is so cool you had a chance to run into these, very few know like me know their creation. Yeah I am a science and historian nerd HAHA. such a great area you both choose to visit. It is all volcanic and then again, the drone footage is just so beautiful. just searched that devils tower and it looks nuts, almost doesn't seem real haha. the US has many natural gems and also many places that seem like another planet. We went to death valley national park there a few years ago and its easily one of the most bizarre places we have ever been (just as bizarre as iceland even) Hope you are both doing great over there!

Staying inside on a cold day here in Michigan. We have snow outside now, but no spectacular waterfalls like this near me! Beautiful!
So interesting seeing Iceland in the winter we were there in the "summer" and did the ring road also - we loved how the landscapes changed at nearly every turn. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip. PS I really enjoy your drone footage and photography

Another spectacular scenes of Iceland. 🇮🇸 The beauty of nature at its finest. Wait ‘till summer and it will be a different scenario all over. Yes, you’re like in a different planet. Vik is unique especially the 14:34 black sand shore with the basalt columns. It’s where the HBO Game of Thrones was filmed. 15:07 15:50 That cave and the beach with the rock formations 16:33 behind was famous for one of its scenes. I think the black stones on the cave are obsidian black stones if not one of the mineral rock formations found all over Iceland. In Vik, you can also see the northern lights if lucky. Hope you can also try their natural hot spring or any of the public pools. Enjoyed your videos, Chris and Carol. I would love to go back there on summer time. Wonder if you stop by their store to buy coffee and their famous bread.

I was in Iceland the same time as you! Judging by the weather it looks like we were on a similar schedule. I managed to see the Northern Lights on 4th March from Reykjavik, near the airport and again on the flight back to UK. Watching your videos has given me the travel bug again. If you ever go to Northern Ireland there is a place called the Giant's Causeway with a larger area if those angled rocks. Apparently from slow flowing of lava cooling as it reached the sea. There is I think one in Scotland too. Myths say a character named Finn who had a problem with a giant in Scotland. He couldn't swim so made a causeway to Scotland (hence the name) out of the volcanic remains. It is a world Heritage site and very beautiful. Just thought I'd drop this in. Hope you like.
just searched it and you are right, its completely identical to these. those in northern ireland look even more perfect even (looks like it must be man made but its not) crazy nature!

There is a similar geological formation nearby Mammoth Lakes, CA named "Devil's Postpile" but they are hexagonal shaped columns.

In California, over by Mammoth lakes there are some formations of rocks very similar to these long rectangular rocks called Devils Postpile National Monument. Beautiful scenery. Thank you, Mercy travels.

Mesmo em março, esta com pouca neve, fiquei surpreso ate, estive exatamente na mesma região em 2010 e 2015 e o tempo nas duas vezes estava absurdamente pior! Deram sorte de poder rodar assim tranquilo, eu cheguei a ficar preso na estrada por tres dias! Bom conteúdo, sempre acompanho aqui!

youve got to buy crampons or you're going to struggle with everything because its extremely icey there. Crampons are spikes you attach to your shoes and boots so you dont slip on the ice.

Truly amazing landscapes and waterfalls!! Are the daylight hours pretty short this time of year?
it was about 10 hours of sunlight while we were there in March so it was enough for us (we made sure we always went out just after sunrise to not lose time), i think in November to Jan you only get about 4-5 hours of sunlight a day!
Panama has a lot of black sand beaches along the Pacific coast, but this black sand in Iceland is insanely out of this world!!!!😎
