Much of this makes no sense to a noob like me, but the information about maintaining a race truck high torque transmission is the kind of thing you don't see on most videos. This kind of info is gold - so useful for those of us looking to learn and make smarter choices when it comes to tinkering at home. Would love to see more of these 'everyday' pro tips Thanks!
Guys that was a great video and it's definitely worth supporting small venues like that at grass roots level and it was great fun for you guys and for us to watch 👍 God bless you'll and stay safe 🙋♂️ 🇬🇧
Arguably the best quality oil fill Traciann you can get for the most part I would say is Donaldson Donaldson makes filtration for commercial jetliner‘s hydraulic fluid and things like that they have a filter that has 2020 µm capability at 90% efficient and bypassed filters down to 2% excuse me O2 micron at 98% it’s highly recommend it anyway I’ve been running them on my old Dodge for years and had good luck with him
Yes, it definitely needs help.... Will go carried away with the turbo setup and it needs more cubes to light that S480/HX82 combo in an efficient manner.
@@pddofficial Hey it is easy to over eat and feel sluggish as the result but once it kicks in you can really go! When I had a 480 as a single on a 12v it needed a 4k+ stall converter to get lit and sadly the converter clutches would not take a lot of application cycles before they needed love again putting down 1300hp because of the big jump between unlocked and locked shaft speeds. I think the better bigger input shafts with their higher flow have solved a lot of that issue in the last 10 years though.
absolutely loved this video! very cool you handed back the winnings. so many times i was laughing and smiling thinking the same thing as your boys bullshittin.. Will,.. talking calculated risk.. it’s the truth😂👍👍i follow in the junkers footsteps. calculated risk is life!!👍 myer ripping a 7.3ET … that’s bone stock hellcat at my elevation! awesome. As for ballast in the junker.. the fastest no prep 275…/28x10.5 racers are 250-450lbs of ballast in the rear. load it up👍 Thank you for these vids.
I would like to see a trans biuld video on the max clutch count fitted in these transmissions and longevity expectations using a sonnax higher capacity piston and input shaft with 8 clutches, 5 clutches in foward direct. Overdrive count is 10 and stock count for brake clutches. They are alto red eagle clutches. I wonder if gpz blue clutches are better? What's your opinion on longevity. So far hard parts that I can think of that I'm using: Teflon thrusts 6pinion planets Billet wide foward band DPC's triple 1400rpm stall converter. 500-530hp @tire. BBI 700hp capable towing injector. 188/220 cam Brass trunion upgrade Conical springs. Billet bridges 45° valve job Ported head, intake elbow, Turbo comp cover, Turbine housing, Mantifold, tool steel hard facing on the shell that meshes with forward clutch drums outer teeth. Sonnax super hold piston Sonax 4 seal accumulator Upgraded rear non flip billet piston Raised line pressure in all gears. (Should I leave it on the low end being raised seeing I have so many clutches in the forwards? 🤔maybe it will help the thrusts last longer, or is the torque applied to these pinions the bigger wear contribution, over piston pressure.
Can I ask why you guys don't use the billet wide bands that are available? They won't stretch and they have less apply time because they are better shaped to the drum. So less slack and when released there is less material touching the drum. It's a no Brainer to me...
I also believe that you should brake in the motor like you drive it because if you baby it and then pound it later it could blow up. So why not brake it in hard and see if it blows in the shop rather than on the road .
It's a 2006, so factory 48re 4 speed setup, but it has a new engine built on a 6.7L engine. 68rfe 6 speed didn't start till 2007.5 with the factory 6.7L engine but the same 3rd gen Dodge body style so it's easy to confuse/assume it was a factory 6 speed auto.

We need an in depth breakdown of Todd's megacab also.
New video was just posted, go check it out!
Awesome fun! Thanks for all the great content. That's pretty impressive times all around with the whole team!
Really enjoyed your air strip drags…..learned so much about the 6 and 4 bta’s….makes me want to get crazy again at 75….!
We need more of Wills truck on the videos !!! Also should transfer drive train to a 4x4 set up will so you can put the power to the ground.
Vernal ut is putting in a dragstrip at the buckskin hills complex, concrete is poured, think its only going to be 1/8th mile though, check it out!!
We will definitely check it out when it's finished!

I use power driven diesels 15/40 in my jeep cherokee. Had some lifter noise. That oil cleaned it right up
