I’m not even a good player I just keep playing and listening until something sounds good
Good ear I would guess. You could for example never learn any music theory and instead just listen to a lot of music and make a lot of music to train your ear and figure out what you like and what you don't like. I'm kinda going off here but writing music is all about knowing what you want and until you have a palette large enough to paint what you want to see you wont end up with "sick chords" so to speak.

Really been hunting some battery monitors for making music on the go but these are a bit too pricey
Yes there are cheaper monitors but for what they are they’re a steal. First to market and might be that way for a while.

Yeah that was the machine that gave me “battery low”. I had only been filming for like 2 hours. That’s insane!
I use mine thru usb-c / usb-c cable for a month now and never had any issues
If powerbank is an option then octatrack steps back into the game!

You do not need an OP-1. No one needs an OP-1. If you have a phone you can download several free apps. Pay some money to get AUM which is a mixer between all the apps. Watch some videos on it.

That’s why I got a Polyend Tracker, get a battery and you have your sampler and discount Octatrack on the go, big screen, radio, works great! Also that CP sounds ridiculous for it’s price

hey jon, you can hold shift and hit the gate button and it will enable or disable gate for the whole bank

Since there is no link for the speakers, (understandable, this is TH-cam’s policy, not yours) I did some digging on these, and Damn, you were not kidding about these being expensive ($1100 Canadian dollars excluding taxes, oof 😖) however the benefits (mobility, and portability {these things look light} kind of meet the cost so it balances. Does it have a “flat sound” (similar to the Yamaha NS 10 monitor which are industry standard)? If it does, these are definitely worth a look and listen.

Dude you’re such an inspiration! Out of curiosity how do you handle samples that have a very wide stereo image that don’t sound good when collapsed to mono? Do you just avoid using samples like that? Or do you try to make them mono compatible with production techniques?
