I'd really hope that War Thunder gets some sort of competition because that might actually encourage them to address some of the complaints from the community.
i did that back in 2007 playing "red orchestra 1"...... . two T-34s were side by side..... bounced off the one, blew up the dude next to him still remember it clearly (arad-2 map) because it was so insane . played 1000s of hours of RO and its mod "darkest hour"....even today havent had that happen again

But 2 and sometimes 3 full servers A bad ass community Amazing devs Etc . Still the only game that makes me duck when I'm getting shit at..... or crawl for 300 yards

Im hoping that these additions will make the "Armoured" gamemode more popular, looks great! This will also be great competition for the other WW2 tank games out there such as War Thunder

While Gaijin Entertainment is expanding to more modern eras, the game has started as a WW2 game, and vehicles from that era are still where the majority of your time spent unlocking is.

The shell sounds in Post Scriptum for me are nothing short of actually awe-inspiring. The soundscape is so good I find myself ducking in my room when an 88mm round goes whizzing overhead. Cannot wait, so looking forward to new ballistic models

0:28 That has happened to me exactly one in "Armored Warfare". My WTD (Wheeled Tank Destroyer) Peeked over a hill where an MBT (Main Battle Tank) was being nickel and dimed to death. I was showing up to provide support so he could fall back. I didn't even get to see anyone when a ricocheted off of his side armor and into my front armor dealing 400+ damage. I just quietly reversed out of there and requested ARTY support on to the mini map.
Deflection was one of the best things about the original Red Orchestra. There's nothing quite like exploding into a million pieces when a shell bounces off a T-34 and lands on your face.
This is nice and definitely an excellent addition but the first thing PS needs is some sort of system that discourages (not prevents) TKs without using a big, obvious on-screen tag that shows friendlies. These tags result in players being able to ID friend from foe with 100% accuracy in situations where they otherwise couldn't do so. Any movement where a tag isn't present is instantly fired upon. If your intent is to produce a truly authentic combat experience this will not be the case. Note that on-map tags could still be included to let you keep track of friendly positions with no ill effect since in a real situation you would likely know roughly where your forces were. Of course if there were also enemies in that general area things would start to get interesting, requiring actual visual ID of targets
I'm glad to see this being developed further. I hope that the shells will do more realistic damage to crew and other aspects of a vehicle to reward better tactics and marksmanship.
Beautiful. I hope there will be no more random bullshit like, deimler bouncing from panzer 4's side at 90°, or firefly penetrating Tiger's side at 20°. It is so random at the moment. We have even found out that, there is like 1/3 chance of a tank being spawned buggy. Like armor and hp values were off. 1 in 10 Tiger 1's could be penetrated by a M4A3 at 90°, 10 meters range while 9 in 10 were completely immune to 75mm even from the side or rear. Or panther's 35mm thick side armor being immune to staghound & Daimler's 65mm penetrating shell, even at point blank range 90°. As a armor only player, i highly approve.
I think a 5th crew position would be so cool. The loader who have a hatch mounted machine gun and can variate between the ammo types, you call the ammo type, the loader choose it and load it. If the tank fight with infantry he just hop out to the hatch mounted and start defend the tank. (He also need to load the coax too).
GunnerHeatPC is another alternate game you should look up the 6 man team already made a Extremly good early Alpha Vertical slice it even has Dynamic fire system as the Ammo cooks of or burns away example: hitting the propellent of a APFSDS round will probly just cook the tank not explode it but hiting a Heat round Warhead and other Heat round Warheads are around that one round that just got hit the turret will with high chance Blow out if hatches arent open if the hatches are open the Explosion will leave it from there but if its strong enough it will even blow the turret out with hatches open and t55A wet storage ammo will last longer after a tank Burned down (if the Wet storage isnt damaged or penetrated) so you will see the ammo slowly burn of or explode as the tank burns down

I was wondering if the whistle of an incoming high speed shell was correct. being the murale spendere of German guns at least 2 times the velocity of sound, an incoming shell shouldn't just make a sonorous bang as in the case of rifle bullets? theoretically the whistle should only be heard when the speed of the bullet drops below the velocity sound.the 75/88 mm apcr or apcbc is still supersonic at 2000 yds.thanks
This is great, unlike the annoying postpen in war thunder where APHE are nukes that explode in a sphere and solid shot internal ricochet isn't modelled.
Can't wait for this! Literally the only reason I play WT is the "realism" with ammo etc. If this game implements these changes I think I'll just drop WT altogether!
would be pretty awesome if they could add the possibility of the shrapnel coming of the bounces potentially killing or even injuring players around the tanks would give something for friendly's and enemies units to worry about on top of everything
