But I also use 90% isopropyl as I’m running a thin METAL pry tool like the Quianli star shaped tool with depth indicator lines to prevent cable damage (particularly on models with Touch ID). Heat, suction pliers are better than just the cup, alcohol, heat and patience! It’s not as easy when a screen is severely shattered as this video makes it look though!
I have 1 ipad air 4 with screen totally destroyed and detached. Can an Ipad able to reboot without the screen? As I am planning to buy a new lcd but now without lcd, when I connect to iTunes, there was no response. Tried to get into recovery mode also failed. I am afraid the new screen will be useless if the ipad has more problem than a broken screen
@@DIYGeardo Thanks for the reply. It turns out the Ipad was not booting due to incompatible cable used (Huawei USB-C cable cannot charge Ipad air 4). Changing the cable made it appear in the PC right away!
Well it is gonna be very tough job, Maybe some people can do, but very rare i would say. But keep in mind, if you are replacing the full assembly, you can sell your broken screen..

If you have a heat pad, you can let it run automatically with tablet option selected. Other wise i would say about 1-2 minutes on 80-100c
