Lots of extra work, lots of risk. You'd have to separate the glue that bonds the LCD to the glass by using piano wire to cut the LCD out without bending or breaking it. If you're interested in the process just search for "phone lens separation" I personally won't do any repair like this due to the risk of breaking the display.
I have a question: I am going to try and repair my iPad screen myself (same edition as in this video) and I was wondering if someone can tell me what exactly I should be buying as the part I need? Ie. what is it called when searching for it? Thanks so much :)
Not on this one, at least not without heating and using piano wire to carefully cut the glue between the digitizer and LCD, cleaning the glue off, reapplying and curing with a UV light and a vacuum sealer. It ends up cheaper in terms of just time to replace the whole assembly.
Strangely the iPad Air 4 is one of the few new ones that doesn't have Face ID, and Touch ID is on the power button instead! Weird moves with Apple sometimes!
Which screen protector did you buy and did it come with all the necessary tools? Also, do I need an additional part if my screen is shattered and has lines visible that's it UNLIKE a working screen with damage? Let me know and any valuable information is appreciated. I'm trying to do it on my own since I can't afford the $350-400 cost that every repair shop has quoted me where I live in Chicago.
bro, how is the display quality of this new LCD you ordered, how different it is from apple's original one... mine ipad's screen is also broken, s I want to get it replaced, I don't have money to buy a new ipad... is there is any quality difference between the original apple's display with the one you ordered, can one tell the difference?? please reply for this one... need yours help
The quality is near factory, I was not able to tell any noticeable difference. Look for ones listed as refurbished parts, this usually means that the LCD panel itself is an Apple part but the glass digitizer has been replaced with an aftermarket. This means you would get the exact same quality as the original. Unless you are running professional studio level color grading of photos and videos, I doubt you'll notice any kind of difference in quality, and even then you may not.
the digital digitizer came with strips, from the website that it said parts. if so that is really awesome
Great video, it looks like iPads are slightly getting easier to repair….but not by to much lol 😂
Can i skip the tape primer?
@@carlosmedina3724 yes, it isn’t necessary but you may experience some lifting after a few months of use
Does apple pencil still work after replacement
Yes, the only issue I've seen out of the Apple pencil is with replacement screens on the iPad 9.
Thanks man!
@@ohaider123 glad I could help!
What if you buy a screen replacement that doesn’t come with the LCD cause I just wanna replace the screen, how would that work

is the true tone still intact btw?
What make and model is the heat mat you are using. Thankyou.
Where can I find those iPad parts for the screen replacement? The link in the description doesn’t work anymore :/
Link updated if you still need it!
Nice video! Very informative. Do you think tape primer is needed?
Not really needed, it definitely helps but isn't absolutely necessary

It’s ok! I read further down the comments and found the answer. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Is there a way to replace just the digitizer ?

You should encase a bunch of iPads in resin and use them as a workbench
Better idea, iPad-a-potty
So the Face ID module is not on the display??? Great video, man. Always looking forward to your content.

@@TapticDigital It has TouchID built into the power button
@@phileasdown4064 you're right! I should have said it has no home button with Touch ID
Could I replace an iPad Air 5 screen with an iPad Air 4 screen?
Yep, they are in fact the same screen!
@@TapticDigital thank you. You are a life saver!

Where did you purchase the new digitalizer/ screen from?
Looks like this one came from Mobile Sentrix, you can also find them from Mobile Defenders and a few others
