Was not it about staples on the sides of the bed? See 1:02 min. of the video. When you lift and carry this bed, its legs may fall. Also, when you move your bed in the tent, its legs can bend. This is not nice, especially when we're just laying on it and part of the bed will fall down That is why new series of beds have just such leg protections. I admire your performance with the child. It helped me to decide to buy this bed.
When I got the bed home, I saw that I was wrong. The mechanism of folding this bed is, contrary to appearances, very complicated and different from the one I have dealt with so far. Anyway, staples or splits are only on one side of the bed and you have to close them, as described in the assembly instructions. However, a belt with two plastic buckle (clips) is actually on the bottom of the bed and despite many attempts I can not explain reasonably well what it is for. :-)
Outwell are very good especially for our British climate, not sure the darker colours and the sown in groundsheets would be any good in the height of an Australian summer though.
I live in the UK and have been looking at Australian gear from drifta and oztent. these "English" tents work well in Europe on organised sites with electric hook up. But I don't know if they would suit the Australian climate
Thanks. Everything I wanted to know
Any idea what the clips are for on the bottom of the bed?
Not sure what clips you mean?

Ah yes, those ones :-) And yes, just as you say, it's to secure the legs in place.

Is the 'mattress' a SIM? Looks really comfy
No, it's a foam mattress so no inflating is required. And yes, it is comfy. :-)
Hi I live in Australia , are these English tents good?
