    This piece is absolutely amazing! I'm that person who wants to go straight for the details without building depth and tonal values. Such a great lesson. Thank you Eric!

    The change to the darker background made a huge difference. Its a beautiful piece.🍌

      Thank you I think so too. I would have made the lighter background work if I'd persisted with it, but I began see how a darker one would suit the colours and tones of the subject better.

      Thank you Douglas. I think 'Man must Explore' is my biggest painting to date. It was 48 x 36 inches. ericwilsonsart.com/space-art

      @@ericwilsonfineart thank you for the response. I greatly enjoyed the link of the Apollo Space Missions. I look forward to your next video but for now I will continue to rewatch the ones you have already up. There is a lot I have learned. A great thanks.

    I'm new to oiling out. Is there a limit to how often you can do it to an area? Are there any cons to doing it? What if you oil out an area to paint.. and then promptly forget about it until it's too sticky to paint on? Could you maybe do a video solely on oiling out... if you don't already have one?

    • @ericwilsonfineart
      @ericwilsonfineart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you :) I would say yes, there is a limit. I wouldn'y want to do it more than two or three times because if you build up too thick an oil layer it is more likely to crack over time. If you forgot and it dried then it would count as a layer anyway.

    Are you painting on a canvas board Eric?

    • @ericwilsonfineart
      @ericwilsonfineart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Question! I forgot to mention this in the video. I was working on a rolled canvas that was held onto a magnetic whiteboard by magnets. The canvas will be stretched later.

      Thanks Eric, I did not think it was a board as it was held by magnets, but was unsure what it would be.
