I am so glad to see the Steelers come out and got the win (that is all that matters in the NFL). However lets not say that Russell is the savior all of a sudden. Many of the deep passes were under thrown and GP bailed him out. That one handed catch by Muuth was amazing. If one of those catches does not happen, would that have killed the momentum. I am excited to see this team put up 37 but is this a team that can beat the Ravens. The team looked different than with Justin and that is exciting but I need more games to see how this team moves forward against potential playoff opponents.

He hasn’t played in almost 1 yr. Him and Pickens planned some of those throws. Pickens told him just to throw in area and trust him to make play. I don’t think Russ will ever be Seattle Russ. However if you get 65-75% Russ Steelers will be contenders

@@SamsP.O.V-hd7rb I do not disagree, I am just tampering my expectations. There is a lot of hype after that game but look how bad that dropped pass by Austin killed all momentum for a couple of drives. If those big plays do not happen does the same thing happen? I just know that we have the Ravens 2 times and the Chiefs once on the back half of the schedule. I hope Russ is the answer but for me the jury is still out. This next game against the Giants should be another good one to step up and knock some more of that rust off.

You’re saying russ got lucky. Russ wasn’t under-throwing passes, he was placing them where only his receivers would see them and get to them. It’s called knowing your receivers. People think Russ is getting “lucky” when he isn’t. He’s been doing that sh!t since he came into the league. He has a good rapport with Pickens and the other receivers, so he knows where to place the ball, when to release it, what velocity to put on it, and what arc/trajectory to put on it.
He just has incredible arm talent.
I’m just tired if all the excuses given to JF! Yo his credit, he admitted that he just wasn’t good enough! He knows what’s been going on in practice, and so do the other coaches and players.
They all knew Russ was the guy. JF is still young enough where we can talk about his potential, but he has an opportunity to learn from a HoF QB. He had better milk it.
Geno did, and look at what he’s doing now.

People still doubting Russell Wilson after 13 years is MAD. People just never learn. He was one of, if not the, best for a decade. He led the league in TD passes with terrible O-line and worst rushing attack in the entire NFL. What other QB could even dream of getting close to that? Then he had the worst coach in the league, followed by a coach that despised him (still put up great numbers) and all of a sudden the haters get new air. Jeez.
Learn from the past. Never doubt Russ again. He was never bad or washed. There is a media narrative, and there is a reality. The reality never changed despite all the clown-talk about him. He has always been elite.

  • @DeCurtaRican

Russ just responds differently to adversity than other QBs. Think about what has happened with Russ over the past three years.
Russ was injured in two of those years (2021 and 2022) and playing fit sh!t teams all three of those years.
Yet he still put up good numbers in two of those seasons (2021 and 2023) and nearly got both teams into the playoffs despite missing three games in 2021 (only being healthy for 9 of the 14 gages he played in), and being benched by a coach who was clearly trying t tank for draft position in 2023.
In fact, the Seahawks hadn’t been a truly good team since 2013 if we’re keeping it 100.
Russ had to drag them into the playoffs every year after that first SB, but only Seahawks fans seem to know and (if objective) admit this.
    For example…
Here are Russ’s 2023 rankings with a coach sabotaging him by keeping the playbook closed, no run game, ONE reliable receiver, an inconsistent at best O-Line, and a horrible defense:
    #1 in 4th Qtr comebacks (4)
    #1 in Game-Winning Drives (4)
#2 in Adj. Completion Rate (78.8%)
    #2 in TD% (5.9)
    #4 in Completion Differentials
    #5 in TD-INT Ratio (26:8)
    #7 in Passer Rating (98.0)
#8 in QB Rushing Yards (341, 15 games)
    #9 in TDs (26)
    #9 in INT Rate (1.8)
    #10 in INTs (8)
    #11 in Completion% (66.4%)
According to Sports Info Solutions (SIS), Russ completed 6 passes of 40+ air yards past the original LoS (for 301 yards), good for #1 in the NFL. 4 of those 6 went for TDs. The 2 that didn’t were drops by his WRs. He attempted 16 such passes, 10 of which were deemed on target and none of which resulted in an INT…0 INTs!
Russ also had a 47% QB rushing first down rate (JF!/ was 37%) and finished the 2023 with a 7-3 record after Sean Payton threw 5 of the first 6 games before benching him in week 16.
During that stretch, Russ led the Cronus to wins over the Broncos’ 5 toughest opponents in the process.
He currently has the NFL’s longest active TD streak with 20 straight games with at least one e TD pass. That means the streak started after the incompetent Nathaniel Hackett was fired in 2022!

Then we played the Colts and they almost exclusively ran at Herbig and away from Watt. He isn't stout enough yet to stuff the tackle and constantly set the edge. That's why TJ was so happy to have Alex back. Alex was rock solid every time the Jets tried him. Fields is great and still growing but Russ is more advanced for us now. STOP being prisoners of the moment. A 55 % completion percentage rate with every deep ball to GP being under thrown. Not to mention the four times tipped completion (pure luck) and one PI. Also the great one hand catch by Muth on the overthrow. All with three of the Jets starting DB’s not playing and both starting safeties out by the end of the game. This is not a knock on Russ; but it is a realistic evaluation of what we saw on Sunday night.

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican วันที่ผ่านมา

Those balls weren’t “under-thrown.” There were several balls dropped right in the bucket, and he moved beautifully in the pocket and completed a wraparound side-arm pass to the left flat that no QB besides a younger Rodgers or Russ (or Mahomes) could have completed.
In one notable case he had to virtually over-throw a ball to Friermuth to ensure that only Friermuth had a chance to catch the ball.
I notice that the Steelers’ WR’s and TE’s don’t get separation.
Those “under-thrown balls”were strategically thrown that way! Russ saw that Pickens could get the look on the ball that his defenders could not. That’s what a savvy VETERAN gives you. Pickens and every other receiver/TE were covered like white on rice, and Russ placed the ball perfectly every time!
What you saw wasn’t Russ’s arm not working or his being bailed out by his receivers; you saw Russ doing some very subtle things that no other QB can do. He makes passes that other QBs cannot.
But JF fans’ cognitive dissonance will not allow them to accept that Russ can still ball and that JF isn’t the guy, so they’re playing a Jedi mind trick on themselves. They have to find SOMETHING to discredit the performance.
Let me ask you this: how many QBs would’ve dive what Russ did after being booed by their own fans?
THAT is part of what makes Russ so special.

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican วันที่ผ่านมา

Russ would have torched that defense regardless. You saw that he was willing to throw right at Sauce Gardner. Only one DB ever came close to making Russ pause, and he was Russ’s own former teammate: Earl Thomas.
His side-to-side coverage ability could confuse QBs and did so to Russ in practice several times early in his career, which is partly why Richard Sherman got to eat so much. Thomas could shut down a lot of the field and bait QBs into going deep and falling right into Richard Sherman’s trap.
Other than that, Russ goes right at the best DBs and almost always wins the battle.
So Sauce Gardener wouldn’t have posed any threat to Russ even if he had covered Pickens.

Russ just responds differently to adversity than other QBs, whether it’s bad or overrated coaches, injuries, bad teammates, media slander, or ungrateful, impulsive fans booing him.
      Games 14-17 (2022)
      Games 1-15 (2023)
      Game 7 (2024, Pittsburgh)
I’ll drop the mic for now, but there’s more where that came from! 🎤

Only oeople that did not see Fields play all the time in Chicago thought he was good. They watched a few ESPN highlights and were confused by his running and him putting up fantasy points. Field running is good for fantasy football, but is not a winning formula if his passing is well below a starter or most backups.

JF can become a good, even great QB, but he needs time. The smartest move he and the Steelers could make would be to stay together for 2025 and 2026, with JF being QB2 the whole time. In 2027, Russ walks away and turns over the keys to JF. If JF insists on starting in Pittsburgh it leaving, it will be all about the Linet, and we will know that he doesn’t see the big picture.
Make him the highest-paid QB2 in NFL history and keep him. The money he will make on his next contract will more than compensate for his lost bag this time around.
He wants to get to that $50-60M per year level, but he’s not worthy of that type of contract.
Pay him $25M for three years with an opt-out after two. See how it goes.
I believe the Broncos owe Russ another $40M for next year too, so Russ can play for vet minimum next year. They can afford both QBs that way.
Russ should be willing to continue playing for $40M or so even if this is his last Broncos payday, which is essentially his Seahawks contract, flipped to the Broncos since they rehearsed him, opting out of the rest of that $252M.
So far, the Broncos have paid Russ $125M for two seasons. Bless America! 😂

Why is everyone going crazy? If Pickens didn't bail Russ out you would be saying all Russ,s passes were short.

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican วันที่ผ่านมา

Pickens didn’t bail out Russ! Russ put the ball where Pickens and ONLY Pickens could get it! That’s called TOUCH!!! Russ has been doing stuff like that for years. Pickens can’t get separation, so Russ knows how to feed him. He’s a jump-ball receiver. The only difference between Pickens and DK is DK’s speed. Russ just has a knack for knowing how to feed different receivers at the right time. Therms why so many average receivers look good playing with him.

Slow your roll! When Steelers beat a real team they will be contenders. Jets are not a good team.

Russ plays BETTER against tougher teams than he does poor teams. That’s a fact! It has been his pattern his whole career. That’s why he has sometimes inexplicably lost games he should’ve won.
Hes the type of guy who needs pressure, and there was plenty of it Sunday night. That’s why he rebounded and had a great game.
It’s interesting how this “it’s just one game” bs wasn’t spouted when a far less reliable QB in JF was coming away with wins.

It's championship or bust! The veterans went and recruited him Noah. Your journalism is slippingly bias if you thought Justin fields was better. Noah, you're a liar bro. You did not want Russ. You said he was washed and I was infuriated. Because the little kids & grown babies in the chat said the same things... The analysts on tv said the same thing. But the Denver tape from last said something completely different. He made the weapons Denver have now look great. My mind plugged our offense into that situation and said with a better coach on top of that, we are Superbowl bound with the type ofmdefense we play around here.

    • @jimmymacnutrition6628

Exactly. Nobody should have been surprised by the Jets game or calling Russ washed. 4 comebacks and game winning drives, 26/8 98 passer rating is not washed. All people had to do is watch Russ,' 2023 highlights on TH-cam and they would have seen he had multiple games like Sunday's last year. With the horrific defense it is amazing Denver was anywhere near the playoffs last year.
