- How to Delete Read-Only Namespaces in MAYA - Namespace Editor
Ok, well this is super annoying. For some reason when I reference certain characters in Maya, it does not allow me to delete the Namespaces, and it throws an error that says "The source namespace _____ is read-only". But I need to be able to export animations without namespaces in order to work in our Unity pipeline.
So, this video shows you a quick fix I found. Basically, what this does is allow you to delete the read-only namespace on a scene-by-scene basis, but then the next time you reference the same character in another scene, you will have to do this again. Luckily it only takes about 5 seconds.
Hope it helps!

The namespace keeps coming back after re-opening maya file and it removes all animation for some reason. Do you know any tricks to remove namespace completely while also keeping animation??
Thank you for your patience. Did you get this figured out? This may be what you are looking for: th-cam.com/video/oyPRmt_rzxk/w-d-xo.html
When I saw your comment before I assumed it was on this other video, and I just now finally got around to looking into this. Deleting the namespace in the file in a text editor should remove it completely.
@@SquamashiiTutorials Yes, I did solved this issue watching your another video already. I really appreciate your help. Thank you
