It’s an interesting concept for sure. Let’s simplify it further. Dual band filter and just a green. A two filter night. Not outside the realm of possibility.

That method should work fine Garnett! - Cheers

So instead of SII you use Green and process like RGB?

Thanks for showing this Kurt! I was thinking of trying it out in a video as well, but really a bad time of year for it with my setup in the northern hemisphere. They changed my date of arrival on the EdgeHD 8 to mid July, hope you get yours sooner so I can see how you set yours up lol

Yeah, this was the last nebula for a while. I don't when my Edge is going to show up. Last I heard it was the end of April but that was over a month ago so who knows.

I like your channel. I also like High Point Scientific. I have had lots of bad experiences with OPT so I just decided to switch distributors. Anyway, I remembered you had a link so I dropped by to use it. I purchased an Orion Atlas 2 EQ-G so hopefully you’ll get that pretty nice referral kickback. If you regularly communicate with them a guy named Paul really helped me out. It was very pleasurable getting non-automated replies to my emails. They were really straight with me unlike OPT. I don’t even want to get started about that nightmare. Let’s just say I won’t be smashing their like button anytime soon. Lol. Keep up the good work man. If you get bored have a look at some of my stuff. I’ll warn you I’ve been called Eugene from “The Walking Dead”. Clear skies.

Thanks Garnett. You have quite a following including me. Thanks for going through the Highpoint link - thanks to you I will be able to retire now (ha)! I know what you mean, I have had hit or miss with OPT but Highpoint has always given me good advice. I am actually working with a guy named Patrick who has gone above and beyond to assist me.

I had seen Dylan's video the other day and was thinking of doing exactly what you have done. So... thanks for saving me the trouble Kurt lol. And the result, yeah, that's pretty close to the RGB images I see on astrobin. Maybe lacking a little bit in the pink areas but I would put that down to maybe not enough balance between the channels as I am sure you werent collecting data with this in mind when you were imaging. Overall a good result but I gotta say, I just love the NB version you did the most. That's a very tasty image even if it is psycho (delic).

Thanks Allan. I like the SHO version the best and it was the plan from the beginning. I just did this as an experiment. I only had 35 min of green vs. 5.5 hrs. each for Ha and OIII. If one were to do this as a plan from the beginning ideally you shoot more green. - Cheers Kurt
