I know this is not the popular opinion here but I like the album version way better. the complexity and clarity kind of made sense for a song where you are the one who initiates the breakup.
@@reddwood4971 exactly, the album version has more solos. There's a specific part near the end where he plays a very nice melody on the guitar and doubles it with his voice, that part is completely absent in the demo. This demo kicks ass tho, it has that 90s weezer energy.
I think the demo handled the verses and the final chorus better. Im very sad that the backing vocals singing the verse were cut. But I think the reprise was handled far better in the album version.

This might be the only post pinkerton solg that I enjoy (thanks to this demo version).
I hold the unpopular edition that the album version is garbage and is my least favorite Weezer track with the exception of the hip hop section of Can't Stop Partying. This version, though, is great and would have raised Make Believe up at least a star.
The only problem with make believe is that the tracklist sequencing is terrible. Keep in mind that this album opens with Beverly Hills and ends with Haunt You Every Day
