Galea Kills Grodd (Doomed Washington D.C.) - HOL Edition

GRODD. Grodd is one of my favorite DC villains, because his entire attitude is encapsulated in the words "Fuck you". He's a massive telepathic gorilla with telekinetic abilities who absolutely hates humanity, and that's basically it in a nutshell.
In DC, Grodd is the Boss in one of my favorite pieces of old-school content - Stryker's Island - so it was nice to see the antagonistic, animalistic asshole himself make a reappearance in recent times. And the fight's not half-bad either.
So, Grodd is definitely a rough Solo. He Brawls, which technically makes him Counter vulnerable, but he also deals tremendous damage so unless you're a Tank the Counter game is going to end poorly for you. Also note that he's keeping up with the Flash when you come across him: Grodd's mobility is INSANELY good, so you're not going to be able to run from him all that easily.
To polish off the trifecta - Grodd's Powerset is largely based off of Mental. Horrifying, "All Stuns" PVP Mental to be specific - he's got a 360 Mental Projectile attack, the classic "weird floating gorilla teeth that stun you" attack, another heavy area-of-effect attack, and the Still Force stun, which requires you Breakout to avoid the damage.
You may want to equip a Breakout skill in order to counter this Ability, since it deals a tremendous amount of damage if you are still Stunned when it hits. It also deals a tremendous amount of damage if you're NOT stunned, but at least you can do things like "Shield", "Heal", or "Run Away".
The one really solid redeeming factor to this whole fight is that there's no true "one shot" attacks to deal with. The other side of that coin is this : since he deals damage on par with Subject Doomsday? It's not that hard for him to beat you the old fashioned way - to death.
Galea's First Rule applies: Stay Mobile or You Will Die. If you're using a Flying Character, you can take (some) heat off of yourself by staying airborne, though you'll never be far enough away to avoid attacks entirely: Gadgets: Decoy, Stealth or Invisible, or any Aggro Drop with a Pet will buy you a few spare moments here and there. I haven't fought him with a Healer build (yet) so stay tuned for that.
Defeating Grodd will net you 8 Source Marks, a Large Loot Crate, and contributes to a Counter Feat and TWO Voltron Feats. Good hunting and good luck.
