I had my speedy 25 repaired last year I had all the leather replaced including the pipping. I did not get the zipper replaced but all the leather was. I was quoted $540 I also requested a new padlock and the total for everything $570 no tax I did the repair through the LV customer service repair center. It was a process but I was never charged taxes. I made a video of my repair. I’m guessing if you do everything at ones you get a better deal then if you do little by little. I have a lot of vintage bags that I do repair all the time. It can get expensive but all my repairs have been great. The repair center does a great job. In-form-a-tive! I have experienced the vertical cracking in a Sac Looping and I was devastated. This was about 20 or more years ago. I was so disappointed and insulted when the SA accused me of either leaving my bag outside (exposing it to the elements) or wearing directly against my underarm (exposing it to deodorant). I was livid because neither scenario applied. I ended up speaking with someone in San Franciso, I believe, to resolve the issue. By then I was less upset about the bag issue and was more upset about being accused of basically mishandling or abusing my own bag.
I failed to mention in the video that they don’t train us for sh*t on how to take in a repair! It was so complicated that I think most associates didn’t care to do it!

I had no idea that this was a usual occurrence and its likely that the SA helping did not either. While I wouldn't likely take the posture of blaming the customer, it could be that she was at a loss.
I was quoted at $600 for my speedy 30 for replacing all leather, canvas care and new lock and this quote was from LV store my bag status as of today is being repaired. Now if you take your bag to a Village Cobbler the prices are different and can be more expensive but you get your bag much faster
I just got my Speedy 25 repaired here in Zürich, the canvass is perfect but the Vachetta was super dark and dried and the hardware were tarnished. I paid 679chf, the repair was worth it for me. I bought the bag in a secondhand shop. By the way, my speedy 25 is 22yrs old.
Last month I was quoted $780 to replace all the vachetta on my vintage speedy 25. To change piping and all tabs is $360 at Bloomingdale’s LV boutique. Which is weird because they are replacing all my vachetta including straps and string on my Noe GM for $330. 🤷♀️
What on earth are you people doing… these are just old bags, once you replace the leather it no longer matches the bag, then you have to tan it… it’s a mess. If it’s a small thing but critical item like a stud, get it repaired, but otherwise just enjoy the bag for what it is - a vintage bag with a vintage look.
I went in November of 2021 and was quoted $540 for the speedy 30 for all outside leather, so it doesn’t include the leather inside the bag like the pocket. I am located in CA of that also depends on the price. Hope this helps!😊 However, because of everything that’s going on the repair process is taking longer than usual because I dropped my bag off in November and they changed my date on when my bag will be ready for April. Helpful video on a classic bag. I watched as I had a preloved speedy b en route. Thx to you, upon delivery I checked canvas by zipper and there were cracks not disclosed. Hello! I have had 2 pochette accessories repaired in Costa Mesa, CA and both time were charged $60 for the tab replacement and $60 for the mini strap replacement.. they even replaced the zipper pull for me for free, it was chipped and tarnished. Hope this helps
I sent my speedy 30 for repair in June 2022 and it's due to arrive tomorrow September 9th and was quoted $600, I sent my speedy 25 in July 2022 and was quoted $790 to replace the vachetta and the zipper replace is now $265 FYI the price to replace the leather on any size speedy is still $790 to replace the leather on a Alma was $1330 I opted out and sent it to a cobbler in Miami for $900 for sane service LV be bugging
It’s not a bad deal if you get a great deal on a bag, like $200-600 and it’s in good enough condition to repair. I just feel it’s getting harder and harder to find a vintage bag at a fair price. I would love to find a great speedy 40 B. I had the epi leather banding (side pieces that reinforce top strap) replaced on my epi petite noe and it was $120. I currently have a zippy coin that needs new glazing but I’m worried about the quote

Do you know how much it’s gonna cost to re-paint the edge glazing of the two handles? Mine has worn off and I don’t know if that would ruin the handles down the road.
Im so happy with lv repair the first one because the bag have production problem like the glazing they let me pick a replacement plus the price increase of the bag. So happy for that and recently the strap of my multi pochette athe clasp broke they replace it for free too. Unlike chanel even so obvious that they have the design problem thats why they break they still let me pay the repair

speaking of the interiors, I hate that vuittonite weird lining. my toiletry 26 had it peeling off and it made the inside sticky and unusable. I just removed the lining completely, so I guess it’s not “collectible” anymore due to my modification, but this particular bag needed full rehab/detox anyway for other reasons. repairs through LV is so expensive! I guess it’s worth it for discontinued styles if you love them, but idk... I’d just learn to love a brand new bag, haha I’m not very hardcore.

@@dialmstyle so cute! they look so sweet. this xmas i actually did a repeat jellycat, I found “fuddle wuddle,” the baby zebra exactly like his original online and decided to get it for my son because original zebra can’t even keep his head up and lost most of his mane and the “twin” we have was never an actual twin upon clearer research. Twin is “bashful” zebra and looks more like “bashful unicorn.” They’re bigger with long arms to hide their faces. My son just laughed at his new zebra because the mane is so full and fluffy, it looks like zebra has crazy hair extensions lol he still prefers his original very worn out zebra as his main squeeze out of the herd we have now. I always love seeing your little girl’s Jellycat babies in the background, more customer re-enactments please 😂 💕

The last time I asked summer last year in Calgary they told me to repair on a mini speedy for $200 just for the zipper pull 🤣 omg maybe the SA doesn’t like me to get it repaired. She probably wanting me to jus buy a new bag because they said the mini speedy has to be replaced than doing just the zipper pull 😀 last summer in Calgary. By then I have purchased just a strap from LV brand new and nothing else. She also mentioned I don’t have a history buying a bag. Maybe she doesn’t like me. I was nice to her.

Hi Michelle Thank you so much for this info. I have my first LV Speedy 30 that my husband bought fir me I believe in 1983. It’s in a good condition because I did not use it much however the gold metal hardware is darker not shiny and the round ones have a green around it and the key is darker in color as well. Can you tell me hwhat to use to make it shinierand returned to its gold color. The leather I can clean with the leather conditioner as you suggested. Hoping fir a reply. Or should I just go to a LV boutique to have it refreshed.
Michelle, Hi! Loved all your videos. I love the fact that you are extremely honest about pros and cons of LV bags. I know this is a repair video but I desperately need your expert advice. I want to buy a Speedy B 30 in DE as I like its understated look as well as low maintainence of DE compared to Monogram print (In already own a classic Speedy 25 in Monogram print). I live in a tropical country where it rains all 12 months. Besides Monogram print has become very common compared to DE. I have weak shoulders therefore the strap has to be comfortable. I have been researching and found that DE straps tend to be stiff thereby digging into one’s shoulders. Also they don’t soften even after continous wear. Is there anyway to make the straps comfortable? I would really appreciate your advice based on your experience in LV store. Thank you! LMA

I am shocked by the cost of the repair. Gosh so expensive! It’ll make more sense to just save and buy a new one. But of course, if it’s for sentimental reason, then understandably, a repair is worth it. I’d probably go with the latter if something is ever to happen with my Speedy B which I love.
TFS! My SA called me to pick up the new Speedy 20 w/the pink strap last week & I was ecstatic! When i inspected it in front of her immediately i noticed on the inner part of 1 of the "rolled leather" handle it was all wrinkled end to end. Is that normal Michelle?? It is really noticeable when i flap the handle down. I took her home anyway because i waited a long time for it & its a very hard to get item. I hadn't wear it once yet because im debating if i can live with it. Maybe i am being too picky i should just enjoy it & replace that 1 strap later?
Oh no… look at the handles in my video…no wrinkles! Although I hear it’s common now, I don’t think it’s acceptable if it’s enough to bother you. However, the option is to wait for the next one. Definitely take a pic and show the store manager. To me, it’s not normal.

My zipper handle/pull broke off.... so i can still zip my bag, but theres no tab to use to pull and close it. I have to pinch whats left of the zipper and slide it close. Is that something they'd fix?
Hey! Thanks for making the video! Glad to hear that you are getting better. Honestly speaking I wouldn’t repair an LV monogram bag, because it is so expensive. My friends iPhone broke and the repair cost almost as much a new iPhone. Why repair it then? My 2018 Macbook air battery doesn’t last as long anymore. To replace the battery costs almost half the price of the new one with M1. So it makes no sense to repair it. This bag is really beautiful though. The vintage monogram bags remind me of early 2010s Helsinki style. I hope that you’ll have a great week!

What you might not know that the bags made in America in between 1970 and 1990 I have a seam in the middle and the LV is upright on both sides. They are vintage .
I have epi leather speedy and do not see anyone is wearing kv epi leather nowdays,can not deside what to do with that.Looks like epi leather is not that popular on the resale market either
Your speedy is in a very good condition except for the zipper. I wonder how much mine would cost, its a speedy Bandouliere which is pretty much the same as the Speedy but i heard that the repair cost now soared high :(
I took my speedy to a local cobbler to fix the piping on one side & they did a terrible patch work & painted the handles and piping to match the repair. It was a terrible fix. I didn’t know they we’re going to paint it. It lasted less than a yr and the pipping patch came off and total cost was about $200 and they had the purse for 3 months. I should have gone straight to LV to fix or I just should’ve bought a new bag. 😢😢😢😢😢😢

Modern versions have like beige/light brown monogram letters-flowers. Not in first time I see green monogram! I thought it is fake but yours also has like green color one. It’s been my experience that people that buy cakes obsess over the alignment … I had someone tell me my neverfull I bought at the boutique was not real because the sides weren’t aligned perfect 😂 I said no it’s real honey … unless they’re selling fakes at the LV stores . Turned out this person was into replicas and said that was something they obsess over , I was like well don’t then 😂
It’s funny because customers wanted hand made in France, yet they wanted machine precision. It was crazy. Those types will find something wrong with anything except themselves!!

I had my Saumur 35 vachetta replaced, they actually replaced all the hardware too including the rivets, the clasps also.

The last time I asked summer last year in Calgary they told me to repair on a mini speedy for $200 just for the zipper pull 🤣 omg maybe the SA doesn’t like me to get it repaired. She probably wanting me to jus buy a new bag because they said the mini speedy has to be replaced than doing just the zipper pull 😀 last summer in Calgary. By then I have purchased just a strap from LV brand new and nothing else. She also mentioned I don’t have a history buying a bag. Maybe she doesn’t like me. I was nice to her.
Honestly, it’s so hard to look up repair prices, and the sales associates are not trained properly! I wonder if she just gave you whatever price! So I’ve heard now if you call the 1-800 number in the US, they will quote you via phone app… tryyyy…

Thank you so much for this info. I have my first LV Speedy 30 that my husband bought fir me I believe in 1983. It’s in a good condition because I did not use it much however the gold metal hardware is darker not shiny and the round ones have a green around it and the key is darker in color as well. Can you tell me hwhat to use to make it shinierand returned to its gold color. The leather I can clean with the leather conditioner as you suggested.
Hoping fir a reply. Or should I just go to a LV boutique to have it refreshed.
It’s called Brasso and I got mine from Home Depot. Use a little Q tip to polish the rivets.
I clean mine yesterday at home and it’s new again. The greens are gone too. Get things in the store mama.

Loved all your videos. I love the fact that you are extremely honest about pros and cons of LV bags. I know this is a repair video but I desperately need your expert advice.
I want to buy a Speedy B 30 in DE as I like its understated look as well as low maintainence of DE compared to Monogram print (In already own a classic Speedy 25 in Monogram print). I live in a tropical country where it rains all 12 months. Besides Monogram print has become very common compared to DE. I have weak shoulders therefore the strap has to be comfortable. I have been researching and found that DE straps tend to be stiff thereby digging into one’s shoulders. Also they don’t soften even after continous wear. Is there anyway to make the straps comfortable?
I would really appreciate your advice based on your experience in LV store.

I have a quick question....I located a really nice speedy 35 on a resale website and for some reason the handles have been imprinted on the canvas. Circa is 1985. In your opinion, would that be considered a defect in the leather or maybe something the person did to the purse? Thank you

I am shocked by the cost of the repair. Gosh so expensive! It’ll make more sense to just save and buy a new one. But of course, if it’s for sentimental reason, then understandably, a repair is worth it. I’d probably go with the latter if something is ever to happen with my Speedy B which I love.

TFS! My SA called me to pick up the new Speedy 20 w/the pink strap last week & I was ecstatic! When i inspected it in front of her immediately i noticed on the inner part of 1 of the "rolled leather" handle it was all wrinkled end to end. Is that normal Michelle??
It is really noticeable when i flap the handle down. I took her home anyway because i waited a long time for it & its a very hard to get item. I hadn't wear it once yet because im debating if i can live with it. Maybe i am being too picky i should just enjoy it & replace that 1 strap later?
Oh no… look at the handles in my video…no wrinkles! Although I hear it’s common now, I don’t think it’s acceptable if it’s enough to bother you. However, the option is to wait for the next one. Definitely take a pic and show the store manager. To me, it’s not normal.

My zipper handle/pull broke off.... so i can still zip my bag, but theres no tab to use to pull and close it. I have to pinch whats left of the zipper and slide it close. Is that something they'd fix?

Hey! Thanks for making the video! Glad to hear that you are getting better. Honestly speaking I wouldn’t repair an LV monogram bag, because it is so expensive. My friends iPhone broke and the repair cost almost as much a new iPhone. Why repair it then? My 2018 Macbook air battery doesn’t last as long anymore. To replace the battery costs almost half the price of the new one with M1. So it makes no sense to repair it. This bag is really beautiful though. The vintage monogram bags remind me of early 2010s Helsinki style. I hope that you’ll have a great week!

Your speedy is in a very good condition except for the zipper. I wonder how much mine would cost, its a speedy Bandouliere which is pretty much the same as the Speedy but i heard that the repair cost now soared high :(

I took my speedy to a local cobbler to fix the piping on one side & they did a terrible patch work & painted the handles and piping to match the repair. It was a terrible fix. I didn’t know they we’re going to paint it. It lasted less than a yr and the pipping patch came off and total cost was about $200 and they had the purse for 3 months.
I should have gone straight to LV to fix or I just should’ve bought a new bag.

That depends on the bag and construction. If it’s only stains, I’d look to clean it as they’d have to take it apart to replace it!

It’s been my experience that people that buy cakes obsess over the alignment … I had someone tell me my neverfull I bought at the boutique was not real because the sides weren’t aligned perfect 😂 I said no it’s real honey … unless they’re selling fakes at the LV stores . Turned out this person was into replicas and said that was something they obsess over , I was like well don’t then 😂
It’s funny because customers wanted hand made in France, yet they wanted machine precision. It was crazy. Those types will find something wrong with anything except themselves!!
