Steve, thank you, so very much for the beautiful job you did on my bag. I received my bag prior to the airing of this video so, you can only imagine my surprise to see new handles on her. I've had this bag for more than 35 years; of which the last 20 were spent in a closet due to her condition. You did a magnificent job. May God bless you, your family and Zeus. Thank you again. VM

Going back to unstitch the second zipper stiches (once or twice?) probably added to your 'time'. Never the less. It looks marvelous as usual. You should probably just accept that the true craftsman/artist inside of you cannot let anything go out of the shop half done. Or not looking really good. I have seen enough of your videos to know that you often change your methods as you deconstruct and think about the project. That happens after the quote and you never add on to the quote. I admire you immensely for your heart and ability to make a project right. Regardless of extra cost.

Yep, I had that bag for over 35 years and as a result of carrying it daily, I beat the daylights out of it. After the disasterous zipper replacement, I put it away for over 20 years. After viewing Steve's videos, I took a chance and I was not disappointed. Money well spent 👍
I am just now watching this video. I normally just watch the shoe repairs but thought I would go back and watch this one. My parents run their own repair shop. It is Mainly Furniture, bags, coats, clothes and other things are included. They do not repair shoes though so this video is like what my parents do. I agree with what you are saying too. I have watched my mom replace zippers and it is a lot of work.
Please help me understand I did not know that the original Louis Vuitton bags will go bad like this we'll crack and go on and on help me understand I thought when you found a bag that was cracked and like that looking like that it was not a real bag

Hi Steve. Great job, what you have is total pride in your work. I'm in a totally different industry but like you people pass through work that simply doesn't even get through the most simple of quality inspections. I have tried many years to try and instill a sense of pride to all staff that I have worked with. I sadly have come to the conclusion all can have but to differing degrees, but easy for some to drift back into an anything will do attitude, while others will want to deliver the highest quality of work no matter the situation.
I was taught by my father, who, by the way, worked in a foundry for over 40 years and never took a sick day, that good enough was never good enough. You have to be taught a work ethic.
Beautifully done! However, if it was me, I would just buy a new one, with that particular bag! Your job is so detailed and meticulous, on top of the material used, that of course it’ll be $800+ and you can find almost perfect condition used Speedy for $600-$700.
Ade S The bag may have been sentimental to the owner .... Would you rather buy a new one or send Steve the first bag your parents gave you? If you have a bag that long, there is usually a reason.
jennifer * yeah, that’s totally a possibility. I’m sure there is a reason why, of course. I’m just saying, sometimes it’s cheaper to buy a new one than repair. I once bought a pre loved speedy 35, because it was super cheap, and said to myself that I’d send it to the LV store to get it freshen up/repair the top handles. When I took it to the store they suggested I change every patina piece because if I just changed the handles, all the veins and tags would look completely different. So I did the whole thing and the bag ended up looking like new but I spent $850 on the repair + $250 that the bag costed originally so I paid $1100 total which is almost like buying a brand new one haha and later on I found another pre loved one that was described as 9.9/10 for $500 and I bought it for my mom (we both had a speedy 25 since the early 00’s but we were fixated in getting a speedy 30 each as well) so I got it for her birthday and it literally looked brand new. Like she really thought I had just bought it at the store. So I ended up paying twice as much for mine, unnecessarily, and it was a loss because if I ever decide to resell it, I wont get anywhere near $1100 for it. So yeah, that’s my personal experience.
He mentioned at the start it was a $580 job, so already ahead compared to buying a used almost perfect condition @ $600+, however he does say normally an $800 job.
The added value is that Steve does a better job than even LV did when it was newly manufactured....whether it's shoes or a handbag, you now own something that was painstakingly reconstructed by a master craftsman/artist.
@@Styledandorganized in the USA? That I know it’s less than $600 to get all the outside leather replaced, did u have the zipper and hardware replaced as well? Vintage canvas is much better ima.

Wow!! Great job!! That LV speedy must hold sentimental value because she probably could’ve bought another preloved handbag for $500 or $600. You made her bag look brand new!! She’s gonna love it!
That’s a heck of a fine job you did! That bag she brought you was totaled. I’d have taken one look at it and called it garbage. If you hadn’t done the handles for her, what would’ve been the point? It would’ve still looked grimy and hard-used, despite the other repairs being so expertly done. You made it back into a bag she can be proud of. I hope she appreciated the quality and generosity of your work!
It s great to see a skilled craftsman at work. I'm a geologist by training and my profession is going through same thing. Just sloppy work. Lack of skilled labor.
Yea the leather on the handles looks disgusting to me lol. I'm so glad you put new ones on. That's one thing I don't like about the LV bags with that light colored leather is the patina gets nasty after time.
You are right. The handles were disgusting. That was 35 years of grime. I am so pleased with my NEW bag. This man is a godsend. I was pleasantly surprised to see my bag with new handles.
The bag is overrated..don't get me wrong..I love LV but the high price that we pay for it is really not worth it because the leather is not even true leather only the Vachetta leather which is the trim and the handles are true leather...but it's the status symbol of saying you have one of those❤

Always wanting to do more means you’re one of those rare craftsmen that are actually proud of their work. It’s really sad this is not more the norm, even if you can’t do the extra work, at least have that feeling in you. I think most people simply don’t notice it, until they see a good job.

I'm glad you mentioned the trucks driving past, I thought there was one outside my house. I watched the video the other day where you were talking about someone from your Facebook group that had done substandard word; I don't know what the occasional background noise was but I jumped out of my chair twice because I was convinced someone was breaking in. I always wear headphones when I watch videos.
It looks as good as brand new!!! I’m sure your client will be beyond thrilled and thankful!!! On a side note - people pay so much money for these brands and like this bag here is made out of canvas and isn’t even lined. I know there are FAR better quality bags out there actually made with care and not just mass produced and able to charge a premium because of the brand. TYFS!!!
Steve, you really appeal to both sexes here. You have men’s shoes and boots which men watch and high end purses (and the occasional pair of heels or ballet flats) which appeal to women. Then you have people like me who like to work with leather who enjoy both.
Great job as always and nice T-shirt! Was happy to see your video in the morning. Dear Steve, wish you to have little vocation near the sea, you should take care of yourself in order not to burn out doing your amazing job. We miss your videos, but we want you to be happy too! 🙂
I enjoy your videos. But I have no idea the value of the pieces you work on. What would the ballpark price of that bag new be? Appreciate any insight. Very good clean repair. Like the attention to detail and the hum of a near stall speed sewing machine as you make corners or position the work. Very relaxing. Also a side note, but I really appreciated you not knocking the truck for the noise it made going by. It may not seem like much, but it speaks volumes to someone like me. You approaching that as another person also awake making their living, while working on a designer bag, where many would see those so far separated, it was just nice to see you not knock it. Anyway appreciate the time you spend making things right. Proper repair is underappreciated!
As a professional, there is no decision. If it needs to be replaced, or repaired, you are gonna take care of it. Even if it wasn't in the original plan. Whether or not you charge for the 'extras', that is the only decision. Since you are a professional, and a perfectionist, you won't be able to do a job less than perfect, even if you tried. Thank you for your business model! Wish others were as ethical.
Another fabulous job Steve I think you just made that bag better than what your customer is expecting, I'd be thrilled with it, she'll come back to you if she needs another restoration doing for sure, thank you for the video Take Care : )
Thank you sir...I am an average man and made an average wage as a nurse my whole life. I’ve never been In a Loui Vattan,( spelling), store? Do they sell them On Amazon? LOL 😆 ...I see people go crazy over 18k gold watches, 4 pound 14k gold Cuban link necklace, diamond studded tennis shoes 👠. I will never understand spending this kind of money when people sleep on the streets, etc. won’t preach here...I love watching ya...and I see u have a healing ink on ur left forearm...I’m covered...but when I was a nurse, u would never see them...u take care man...beautiful work!
You may want to have a flat fee of total restoration and then should you not need to do so, issue a refund of what you did not have to restore. People love getting some money back. It will demonstrate your fairness of your company. Your work today was as always EXCELLENT!
You can't really do that as the extent of of materials and labour required isn't known until you do the work. Steve is an artist as well as a craftsman, because he goes the extra mile. I mean that 30-year old Louis Vuitton Bucket Bag repair he did last year. It was better designed than when it was new when he finished it. So, no. People who can afford to drop $1600 on a handbag don't worry about cost.
Unfortunately, from experience, I am under the impression that there is more failed repairs than good. Sometimes, these people know how to do it right, but in order to, I do not know, keep the price low they make a low quality, fast job. You have to tell them from the beginning you want a quality job and the price/time is not that important otherwise you will end up with a piece of you know what. The other issue is with people without the skills but that is another story. I wish we had more workshops like Bedo's around here. Great Job Steve!
As the owner of the bag in this video. When I took my bag to have it repaired the first time, this particular shop came highly recommended. You don't know a quality repair until you see Steve's work. I will NEVER take my bags to anyone but Steve because I know I will get quality work. If it's worth repairing, it's worth having it done right. Money well spent.
Awesome work, Steve! Great video, the bag looks amazing. The bag looks like a Speedy 35 (cm) and you can't tell that it was shortened. Really awesome work. Thanks for the tips that you gave along the way.

I always wear headphones when I watch videos.
So relaxing watching you do these bags. My relaxation therapy. Keep up your excellent work
It looks as good as brand new!!! TYFS!!!
You are right. I had this bag for more than 35 years. The last 20 she was in a closet due to the condition. I'm so pleased with the repair.
The new handles look so good! Worth it
As the owner of the bag, I am beyond pleased!👍
So loved watching LV bags restoration. Good job Steve, you’re really a master craftsmen. Surely know where to go for my LV bags ❤️
Steve, you really appeal to both sexes here. You have men’s shoes and boots which men watch and high end purses (and the occasional pair of heels or ballet flats) which appeal to women. Then you have people like me who like to work with leather who enjoy both.
I think he should do more videos on women's shoes.
You are an artist not just a craftsman!!!! Sending so much love and respect your way!
Your workmanship is outstanding.
I love your perfectionism and attention to detail.
Great job as always and nice T-shirt! Was happy to see your video in the morning. Dear Steve, wish you to have little vocation near the sea, you should take care of yourself in order not to burn out doing your amazing job. We miss your videos, but we want you to be happy too! 🙂
WOW! GORGEOUS!! GREAT JOB! ❤️❤️❤️.. you look sad, tired! Smile gorgeous..better days ahead. Prayers
Hello Grandmaster, I see that you have not lost that magic touch!!
my tenant has a beer bar I am a huge supporter of her business every Friday
I sure wish I apprenticed with you! Your hands are beautiful and your work is very intricate. God bless you
Steve, you are absolutely amazing! Highest respect to you and your work ethic!
Such a wholesome human being.
You are a true Craftsman, The best I've ever seen.
YOU'RE A TRUE GENT, LOVE YOUR WORK ETHIC.
I don't even know what to say.
It's the craftsmanship for me 😍😍😍 im obsessed
You're always on the top.
I can't wait for you to introduce your Apollo puppy.
Looks like a new Speedy! I really enjoy watching you work.
That hammer time shirt you sent was amazing thanks!
You are absolutely right. I was pleasantly surprised. ALL my repairs and, I mean ALL my repairs will be done by Steve👍
I love your work man. I watch every video.
You pretty much made a whole new bag!
No lie. As the owner of the bag, I couldn't be more pleased. Well worth the money.👍
@@BigHenFor who said they got it new?
I sent in my Speedy and can’t wait to hear what can be done to bring it back to life.
As the owner of this bag, you won't be disappointed. Money well spent!👍
Luz Estrella that’s what I’m hoping. I’m sure there is a backlog of repairs so I’m just waiting for a response.
As the owner of this 35 year old bag, I am beyond pleased.👍
" starts talking about how everything is not going according to plan"
The camera falls.
So, you're saying I shouldn't try doing my first touch up paint job on my Nana's Renoir painting or do my first home mechanic work on my dad's classic Cadillac? What could go wrong? 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
You are very talented. It looks new. Awesome job.
I’ve already binged watched a few of your videos and now I’m a new subbie! You are truly amazing & I absolutely LOVE your transparency, hard work & dedication to your craft! Thank you so much for your love to restore these bags! You’re the BEST💖🤞🏾
