I have this one too. The Wifi connections is erratic but a few clicks from the iphone gets it back.

I feel like you should just keep the mini five. Unless you need to have a rear camera or use a separate SD card, the quality is pretty much, the same.
Thank you for the excellent and detailed review! I received my X5 Pro yesterday, and I'm impressed with its quality. However, the issue I'm facing is that the DDPAI App (IOS) appears to be a mix of Chinese and English, including the SR Overlay on recorded videos, which remains solely in Chinese. Have you made any changes within the app to address this issue? (I've already set my language preference in the app to English.)
Could be that you got a Chinese Firmware on it. Better check with DDPAi. I've used the defaults while recording.
thanks for all these reviews of dash cams. from what i read, all of them act as a Wi-Fi AP (Access Point) and you have to connect to the Wi-Fi to view recording / configure them. is there any dashcam which will connect to a Wi-Fi STA (pre-existing Wi-Fi hotspot) ?

I didn't notice any. The mic on this one is not great, but is comparable to many other dashcams.

No, there is no in-built filter.
Hi, does this cam comes with buffered recording for impact under both normal and parking recording? Also, how's the power consumption for parking? Thank you.
The power consumption is very low in parking mode. You can choose the parking mode setting. I usually choose the time-lapse mode.

How does the DDPAI X5 Pro compare against the Viofo A139 Pro?
They have similar image quality. Both are decent choices. I like DDpais software better, however Viofo may have slightly better image quality.
Hi Mihail, I read somewhere that this model has an issue where all data from the in-built 32gb emmc needs to manually be moved onto the SD card and that the integration / file system between the inbuilt and external storage isn't upto the mark. Is that so? Is there some way to get around that?
I haven't had any issues. Initially I was doing the recordings without a card, then have installed one and it automatically transferred the files over time.
bought straight from ddpai store. even I did hardwire kit installed., rear camera green light is on but can 't review for rear camera. Do I need to update camera firmware?
Hmm, this is weird. Do you see any recordings? If none at all - try a factory reset.
Also check the unit - there used to be a black protective folio on the lens of mine.
@@TechMishka I did factory reset and still not connecting rear camera. I checked hard wire connection and it is working correctly, what is black protective folio? it's been 3 weeks driving without rear camera connected.

Hmm, I have never been impressed with ADAS on dashcams; But I guess you can check some of the 70Mai models.

Hi. When you connect to the ddpai X5 pro, the recording stops. Is this a known issue or function of this model? For example, ur driving and you wanna see the live video and u connect the cam from ddpai, the recording stops. Is it the same case like urs? Any way around it?
If you want to see.live view from the camera, then yes, the video recording will stop.
the video quality looks good enough for its purpose but its special cable arrangement for the front & rear cameras means a no go for me. There is just one single cable for hardwiring which I'm not going to do. And I cannot use an OBD power cable or an external battery pack for parking mode. What you think is a minimalistic design becomes a turn-off for me, unfortunately.
Good point; I still hope to see an option for OBD input though.
Any good workshop would be able to splice that type C cable and find the power wires required and make either a type A or type connector that you prefer.
How long do you think will it last? I have mine and I'm disconnecting it from its cord everytime I turn off my car. I'm scared because the device itself is too hot even just in parking mode. What more if it's 24/7 recording?
Try to record in lower resolution.
how long does it takes for x5 pro to turn on parking mode mode after turn off engine?
It triggers almost immediately.

I am a huge fan of the smartphone app - and it is my favorite dash camera app at this point. Feels very much like a DVR app.

@@ghairobin I have the X5 Pro now. Sadly, the SR function for Android somehow doesn't seem to work properly. Also, the SR always shows with the arrow turning left, as if I'm in a constant left turn, even if I am going straight. Not sure what to do to fix this.

correct me if im wrong. the biggest drawback of a800s is the parking mode, whereby footage only record after got impact, there is no buffer.
Ioga sv is right about it. A800s used to have the option for timelapse but I think it is gone.
If X5 Pro is only $300 - this is a pretty good deal!

Hi, just bought the Dashcam. My one problem with it is that I cannot figure out how to get the camera to save two separate Sd card. I don’t want it to save to the internalized storage, I just want it to save to the card. I often find myself pulling the card in and out of the Dashcam for my purposes, and trying to download things from the app is just terrible. Do you know if once the internal storage is filled that it’ll switch over to the SD card?
It automatically transfers the files to the MicroSD

something is wrong with the mic or the rendering when transferring the video to smartphone. Mic volume is way too low to be heard.
Maybe there is a lot of additional background noise. You can try to increase the volume by amplifying using software. Audacity is a good freeware audio editing software.
Just got this one NIB yesterday and still testing at my desk! Installed 128GB card. It speaks Chinese only, I tried the app options but found nothing related to language for camera talks, no idea. And in the live view mode REC image is always gray, it never turns red with flashing active record mode but the camera records video because it's possible to to go back a reply. Another thing is that I can't register in the app as a new user, account verification email never received. Reported to DDPAI. And first portion of the power cable to the camera is too thick, not sure if it's going to fit under the roof liner. Will see how it goes. All comments are welcome!
Are you sure it is speaking Chinese, or it is English with a CHinese voiceover? The first message it says is "Hello, din-dinPai". If not - might be that you have ordered the non-global edition (if such one exists at all). The cable is indeed not thin, but definitely not as thick as the 3-channel Viofo models :)
Yes, it starts with "Hello, din-dinPai" but after that all talks in Chinese only! About gray REC image: yesterday I found video review of this model and it's gray as mine, probably it is normal for this one. Customer service not replayed yet. I ordered this one from Taiwan. Going to install on this weekend anyway, got it just because of 4K. Thanks for your replay!

wished the DDPAI X5 Pro would have true 4K and HDR. I noticed hesitation and blurs, along with discoloration and noise. It's making progress. The Mola N3 Pro is terrible. The Z50 is not an improvement over the Z40.
hey Rich, thanks for the comment. The artifacts are because of TH-cam's compression - image quality is very good.
Overall - I agree that Z50 seems to be similar to Z40.

Is there anyone having problem with the dashcam router? xiaomi 9, iphone 13 can't detect the dashcam wifi (try everything), while my older phone infinix note 4 pro able to detect it, ask for help from the local service center, but seem they don't even have a solution for me. Disaster!
i even try both my laptop to search for the dashcam wifi, where Yoga c740 can't detect it also, but legion 5 pro has no problem...
Might be related to the WiFi band used. Try setting the wifi on the dashcam to 2
4GHZ. The 5G band is a bit newer and some devices do not support it

4K doesn’t support 90 fps, that’s 1080p I believe. 4K only records at 30 fps.

Has anyone monitored the heat or temperatures? Looks like the biggest concern?
Apart from the video image quality from the front camera there are many cons:
- NO ADAS or advance features its just typical dashcam which records 2 channel
- Nexdigitron is quite a bad reseller who does not entertain any complaints (Beaware of purchasing from Nexdigitron)
- wifi connectivity issue and since there is no screen its very difficult to see videos
- overpriced as compared to other dashcam available
The ADAS is not a feature that is great with dashcams. Just a personal opinion.
Wifi on my end is pretty stable.

I am facing connectivity issues & Nexdigitron is not even listening to the issue. I have registered a case in consumer court.

Everything looks good but it's lack of very important GPS coordinate information while recording. I think this is one of the drawback you forgot to mention.
I believe the video already mentioned the multiple GPS protocols that it can use including GLONASS...
There ar GPS coordinates - you can cherrypick what to be shown on the fottage. There also is a folder on the SD card storing all GPS coordinates.
Mine lasted 2 days before the wifi stopped working. Horrible quality
