Excellent review, thanks very much! I ended up buying one myself and have been very happy with it. Most importantly for me, it has front + rear parking surveillance which works very well.
Great review. loved it. My Z40 says SD card error for all types of SD cards. Turns out the rubber flap at 01:24 was causing it. I left it open and the error disappeared
Does your cameras keeping time and date? mine is loosing it after an hour or more. I have to connect to the app every time to sync time. firmware version 7.1.1.12, have tried also 7.1.1.13,same thing. it does keep the settings like startup sound off. which firmware do you have?
Excellent review. is is mandatory to use the provided car-cigar USB port? I already have a USB charger (with 2 ports), I use one to charge my phone, can I use the second one? Is there any power rating written for the cigar-connector? that way I can cross verify.
Wow, this was really helpful, thank you so much. Question: in my vehicle I have a plug that is always on, meaning I don't have to have the vehicle on for it to work, can I plug it in there and not need the adapter for the parking mode/feature to work?
It will work. As far as I remember, ddpai have an option to utilize always-on cigar light sources, which is quite convenient. Has to be configured in the app settings.
Hi, thanks for the great review! May I ask: - how clear is the car plate number from the video? I don't think you touched on this - 70mai can save videos by pressing a single button on the dashcam, which I find very useful. Is there such a function on the ddpai?
I think you can see for yourself how clear the car plates are. If there is no reflection - pretty good. As for marking a video as protected - it can be done with Z40 too - there's a button for that.
Thanks for the review..will you be reviewing the Z50 soon? not sure what are the main difference except for the 4k part..hope to see your review soon before I purchase :D
In case I find something interesting on my drive, can I press a button to save the video file? For example, I witness an accident involving 2 other vehicles.
@@TechMishka lol this product is damn lousy, upon second day of use, this dashcam (under intense sun for hours) overheated after updating of the version, and now it just shows me the DDPAI logo and no longer records. Its wifi is also unstable, I can get disconnected halfway, even when i'm putting my phone so close to it. Also, the leeway to adjust the camera is so limited, because the body is sticking so close to the windscreen, I can't even tilt it downwards. Sorry but I really won't recommend.
does DDPAI support a method other then the mobile app to download video from the dashcam ? i know 70mai does. this way i can use my laptop to connect to the hotspot and download the recorded videos.
Great review, I learned so much. Can't decide between mini 3, mini 5 and z40... What I need is good image quality (day and night) and good parking mode so it doesn't turns itself off after 24h. And of course the app to work correctly. Can you be so kind and recommend something. Thank you
hi please tell me if I need to touch the camera to connect my phone app to the camera? there is this problem in MIO, you need to switch the camera to wifi mode. in 70mai wifi works all the time.
Thanks for such informative video, I am in need to buy a dashcam for my new car and have some doubts regarding DDPAI Z40 and 70MAI A500S. I will really appreciate if you answer the following questions. 1. DDPAI has capacitor while 70MAI has lithium battery ? 2. We should choose capacitor over lithium ? 3. Replacement batteries are easily available and easy to change ? 4. Any Dashcam has feature to record time-lapse while driving (not in Parking mode) ?
Excellent review, thanks very much! I ended up buying one myself and have been very happy with it. Most importantly for me, it has front + rear parking surveillance which works very well.
Congratulation for the purchase, did you manage to test it out at low light, also in parking mode does it stops recording after 24h?
Great review. loved it. My Z40 says SD card error for all types of SD cards. Turns out the rubber flap at 01:24 was causing it. I left it open and the error disappeared
Hmmm, this is weird. Maybe it applies some pressure to the card...
I have tinted glass. Will I get good quality??

Greet review... I just have a little suggestion. Kindly include the unit temperature while charging or working in a normal room temperature.
@tech4all please do a review on DDPAI Z50 & IROAD FX2. Your reviews are always precise and to the point no BS.i LOVE YOUR REVIEWS
Hey, thanks for the requests. I will note them down and see if I can get the units for testing.

I always use my own charger - so try yours. It will work fine if it can provide 2A or more

@@TechMishka where is this button to mark a video as protected?
Not very good...number plate a bit blur. Can't beat the 4k video quality.
Good day sir. How were you able to set up gps and speed measuring?
Enabled from within the settings
70mai a500s or DDPAI Z40?
They are literally almost the same.
@@TechMishka between a800s?
@@TechMishka if that’s the case, then between the 2, you would still go for the ddpai z40?
Thanks for the review..will you be reviewing the Z50 soon? not sure what are the main difference except for the 4k part..hope to see your review soon before I purchase :D
I probably will skip the Z50. Never been disappointed in DDPAI device.
@@TechMishka thanks I got the Z50 and it's good, just sound quality is a bit lacking..hopefully future updates will help
Hi, for 32gb sd card, how many hour it can be record? With z40
It very much depends on the resolution and the bitrate. Usually - several hours worth of footage.
Excellent video reviews. But the audio is in pretty sharp on the treble
Thanks for the feedback, Raymond. It is indeed - with the idea to sound fine on most kind of devices.
In case I find something interesting on my drive, can I press a button to save the video file? For example, I witness an accident involving 2 other vehicles.
Yes, the dash cam supports emergency recording function.
@@TechMishka what button to press? Is it possible to protect /save video without app?
How app name do you use please ?
It is the DDPAI app
Thanks for the review.. How do we see the gps location on the video..please guide. Thanks again
I just export the videos and the app does the rest.
what's the temperature tolerance for this model? My car is often exposed to strong sunlight, with no sheltered carparks
Usually these dashcams can work fine up to 70-degrees.

@@boscokhoo2463 was the temperature of the unit itself while charging is high or hot?
For parking mode does z40 save 10s recording only after crashed?
What about the recording before crash?
It will mark the whole clip as read-only. Usually there are between 5 and 25 seconds prior to that.
Is ddpai z40 dimension bigger than 70mai a500?
They are almost the same about size.
does DDPAI support a method other then the mobile app to download video from the dashcam ? i know 70mai does. this way i can use my laptop to connect to the hotspot and download the recorded videos.
Sure - you can directly connect it to a PC via a USB cable and manually download the videos. I usually go for this method too.
can this be powered via obd port?
There are such cables, so yeah - if you find a compatible one with such a connector - then yeah
So is Micro SD card up to 256 GB (in 3.26) or 128 GB (in 6.33)??
128GB.

If video quality, go for the 4k dashcam...z40 video not so good
Does Z40 has ADAS?
It doesn't, as far as I remember
hello, your front camera bracket installed was inverted, that's why it doesnt slot in nicely. 5:36s
🧐
I hope they upgrade the firmware to add shortcut in changing rear/front cam ..like hold botton
Make sure to send them a message about it.

You need to enable the Wi-Fi , connect to the wireless network and then open the app.
Why is the aspect ratio all messed up in 1080p mode?
We shiuld ask DDPAi's dev team about it 😎
Hey, does the Z40 will start recording after collision detection while parking? I can't find a mention of this feature
No - you can count here on timelapse mode - which covers that.

1:35 why does the image of the front camera seem stretched?
I was asking the same thing. it just looks weird. Aspect ratio issue - I guess they will fix it with an update.
how to view rear view footage in the Application?
Select the rear camera to be viewed. There is a toggle.
Hi! Why does my speedometers is not running?
Maybe the GPS is not connecting?
Please reveiw z50. Thanks
Let me see what I can do about it.

A800s better in terms of video...4k bro...
Z40 only support up to 128G😂

The video quality on the 70mai 1s looks better
Errrrr.... no way.
