As a fourth generation Albertan I believe that I am qualified to think as a Canadian and if a person takes up arms against our country, that's when I condone justified extreme treatment of a individual. I don't' think he is wrong, we pay so much in taxes than Americans do and get low quality of service in the hospitals. People wait in the emergency rooms for days just because the rooms in the hospitals are full making the waiting times for other patients in line increase (from personal experience). I as a Canadian would rather of paid for the court cost than giving out a that money it was on all kinds of levels wrong and sometimes it’s just right to take the moral high ground and foot it out in court and not lined his pockets … then get the laws changed for it to never happen again!!! Hard pill to swallow but very necessary in this case! As for that mans pension he was willing to put down his life for us so we as Canadians should give him what he deserves for his sacrifice not to fight it in court which is costing us lots of taxpayers money ! For Justin to say that they aren’t willing to keep up with pension demands and to fight it in court is crazy that man and so many others like him were willing to die for all of us and for that we should be extremely grateful and take care of them no matter what the cost because you can’t put a price on what they have done for us! Justin needs to go and all the like minded government officials they are doing nothing to better our Great country!

JT, clearly, doesn't speak for the average Canadian. I don't hate him. But I honestly believe he's missing it. How Canada can be responsible for the demise of Omar Kahdr being in the wrong place, is well beyond any logical comprehension. No one put him there, but him. That is fact. You can argue all you want about legalities. The simple fact is, Canada, did not put him in the situation he was in. But Canada, paid him. Have a nice day everyone.

He obviously has no clue about how difficult it is to live with a disabling injury.
You can rehab all your life and not be half as capable as you used to be.
that man lost a leg and a good portion of use of the other leg, as someone who recovered from breaking their back i can totally understand where hes coming from.
Even if he rehabs 3-4 days a week he will still be diminished in capability having more services only helps get people back on their feet in a way not able to get back to being productive in the same way.
being able to walk again doesn't mean he can go do labor.
He cant even use his military trained skills in his future jobs because his new life is going to be far different.
And this is where the $$$ comes into play. If a person can only manage limited hours working & limited jobs due to pain or capability because of a injury in the line of duty then how can they maintain a standard of life unless someone helps them.
