I think it's how he's wired. He's a smart dude but misses simple or obvious solutions in games hes not used to all the time. He could have something else on his mind as well. It can be pretty frustrating to watch sometimes but it is what it is.
Here's an interesting fact about the first mission: when Alma first comes in she'll have tea with either honey or sugar. You can get an early poison kill by poisoning the honey or the sugar. But here's the catch: whether she chooses the honey or the sugar is entirely random and different every playthrough. So if you're going for a poison kill and have only one dose, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. In Matto's playthrough she chooses honey (12:43)
you can destroy one of the packets and poison the other. This pretty much forces her to choose the undestroyed one and no one is alerted by the sight of the destroyed packet. Ez poison kill.
When you have some downtime Matto you should get into Hitman more, some of the challenge runs for this game that you did with GTA would be so interesting

Can’t you just play the game as intended? Why do you have to horribly fail every mission? At least try! What’s the point of playing this if you’re always gonna play it horribly and get 0/1 stars?
