i won this reel and the zenon rod from tackle warehouse. still havent used it but hesistant lol. forsure gonna keep the reel. but if anyone wants the ROD (med-heavy 7 ft fast ) let me know
I think I need more time with it. I haven't really put it to the test yet. I need another month of fishing with it to give you a legit answer. As of now I love the reel. The castability and feel of the reel is amazing

I have never fished an Abu Garcia but this reel has peaked my interest. Just need some virtual hands on with it before I purchase. That’s where you come in lmao. How’s the drag?
@@Nintendoguy19 From what the box says, it's made in China. Not 100% sure if it's the box that's made there or the reel. The drag is pretty dang smooth. I've caught a few fish that have pulled some line and it's performed pretty well. This reel was designed for finesse style fishing so that drag needs to be smooth. Hope to build a new rod for it and put it to work on some Redfish then in the near future, Smallmouth Bass

Only the body is magnesium. The gears, rotor, bail, spool, handle and bail are carbon, aluminium and stainless steel. Don't think the body giving out is ever the problem on a reel unless you crack it somehow.
Great Reel, I order my 1000 size and must wait completely 3 months. In Germany this reel came only with one spool

How do you like the reel after 9 months?
Still love it. Took it out a few weeks ago on the kayak. Caught a few Snook on it with thr largest at 37.5". This is a beauty. Very impressed

From what I understand magnesium reels aren’t the best for salt as the salt will absolutely wreck the magnesium
