    Absolutely LOVE my MGX. When I seen they were marked down to 199.99 on TW I scooped one up. Half off? Count me in! lol. Put it on my 7'3" MH Duckett Incite and I can throw everything from a weightless stick bait to my bigger ploppers with no problem. I don't know if it's thumb control or what, but I swear this reel gives me less drama during a cast than my Curado DC.

    What is the report on the rod?

    The AL-F is arguably my favorite reel and I’ve used pretty much everything Abu has to offer. The entire MGX platform is mind blowing. They blow all Shimano’s I’ve ever owned out of the water.

    I have this same combo and it’s amazing, feels like space ship material and it’s as light as a feather. The only problem is that when you open the side plate it detaches from the reel completely. When you fish out of a kayak and you put your baitcaster into a rod holder, sometimes it hits your side plate switch. When this happens it’s normally ok because you can just snap it right in but about a week ago this happened to this combo and the AL-F side plate fell into the water! Luckily I just bought the combo and I’m currently getting it exchanged for a new one. Can’t wait to get it back

    What type of fishing is best suited for zenon spinning? jig or twitch

      Abu Garcia has spinning rod models in the Zenon line that are designed for a variety of techniques. The 7'0" Medium for example would be great for finesse techniques like a ned rig or a wacky rig, but it would also be a nice option for something like a weightless fluke!

    Dude how do you open the side plate for the break system?

    • @bassutopia
      @bassutopia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the back of the side plate near the thumb bar, there is a black switch. That will allow you to access the breaks on your reel

      I flip the switch, it seem like its stuck or not coming off, didn't want to force it since wasn't sure if there was a screw i have to unscrew or what not.

      Nope, there shouldn't be a screw! Make sure you are pulling the side plate straight out. It doesn't need to twist like some Daiwa or Shimano reels. Also, the magnetic brakes can sometimes stick to the spool so if it feels like it's getting hung up, try grabbing the spool and moving it out towards the side plate.
