    A little tip for tearing the napkin is to use a small paint brush and apply some water as a line, then it will just melt away as you tear it and you will get the tear exactly where you want it.

    I love this!! I literally just returned home from church doing a beginner”s bible journaling class/session. We did the “napkin technique” and they loved it. I love your page and what a quick and easy way to do a bible journal page. You explained it very well. It was easy to follow. By the way, I love your Etsy shop. I often use them in my TH-cam videos ( I just started). God Bless and thank you for sharing. 🙌🏼 I came home to begin a process video on this very technique. Loved yoru video! 📖📝❤️🙌🏼

    I’ve gotten some inexpensive napkins at the Dollar Tree, Big Lots and Tuesday Morning. I’m sure there are probably other discount stores to try. I’ve never done a napkin swap, but I’ve heard of some bible journaling groups doing that. I would like to do that sometime. Love your videos!!

    Your page is lovely! I enjoy using this technique on ATCs and other paper crafting as well. I have lots of napkins people have sent me in trades and a few packs I've picked up here and there for cheap. I usually use a mat medium, but I'm going to give the clear gesso a try, thanks for the tip!

    Never use modpodge in journaling note books or your bible. Also stay away from anything with gloss. Your pages will stick together! Use a matte finish.

    • @msjr1765
      @msjr1765 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found some matte mod podge. Will that be okay? I bought it, but haven't tried it yet. I know that anything other than matte will make your pages stick (won't tell you how I know that...lol) but is mod podge okay if it's matte??

    • @Kingdomwoman2

    Wow, this is crazy! I've had it in my heart to try this but wasn't sure how to do it and then your video pops up! Perfect timing lol
    Can you do this with tissue paper like the stuff you put in gift bags? Cause that's what I had got before seeing this video. And using modern podge with it?
    Loved the video though. Tfs ❤

    • @ScribblingGrace
      @ScribblingGrace  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Hernandez yay, love that! You know, I haven’t tried tissue paper, it may tear, but I think it would work the same way. And yes you can use modpodge, but gesso does seem to work better

    I really enjoyed this video. Hi, I wanted to know if I can use a gesso on the Bible page called- Finnabair Art Basics Clear Gesso. I googled it in Michaels stores. It supposed to be clear. Does it make a difference? This will be my first Time trying it for bible journaling gluing a napkin. Or if anyone else have any suggestions. I am a new learner about this. Thanks!

      I am a bit confused about Gesso, too! What's the difference between that and just using a glue stick or liquid elmers glue?

      You can used wax paper, and technically you can use mod podge, but it does usually leave the pages sticky and they can stick together, so gesso is better to use if you can

    How do you keep the page from being super wrinkly, including the corners of the pages curling up?

    • @ScribblingGrace
      @ScribblingGrace  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With this technique, the pages do tend to wrinkle, but I find they flatten back out after a few days in the closed Bible. So I don't ever really worry about it :)
