Wow, a very honest no nonsense conversation about Indian cooking. Thank you dr pal and krish. What a deep thinker krish is. Love the way he connects science and chemistry to food. I am going to take his ‘risk prioritization’ when it comes to cooking and convenience.

Thanks Dr. Pal and Mr. Krish, for I am going to get a sound sleep today onwards.. Overcoming the worries of not being able to follow the media university. Loved your take on detox. One thing I would like to mention is, growing up in Kerala, with it's ample share of power cuts, I know how difficult it is to get some ice cubes in summer for a fresh lemonade, let alone storing or freezing food. And that's primarily the reason we don't keep leftovers in fridge. I mean we just couldn't get into using a fridge efficiently. Would love to hear Mr. Ashok's take on artificially ripened fruits using dangerous Chemicals.

    2. Balancing our mind and not
    worry too much on every
    aspect of food. Wrt cookware,
    fresh cooking vs using frozen
    food, reheating.
    3. Goal of social media algorithms! Ultimate truth!!
    Take a break !!

the key to a balanced mental
    and physical health.
    5. All the tips he shared about fruits veggies etc

This is beyond useful information and much needed for this 21st century where we get Medical tips from Instagram and Recipes from tikTok :D Somehow it feels our Indian kitchens had figured out so many things by practise. The Rasam , Butter milk , pickles , Open cooking Rice and these days science is proving all that common sense.

It consumed my lot of time and everyday I was panicked doing multiple tasks while cooking . now I do meal prep and it saves my time and takes care of my mental health also I can do my other work more productively . Great interview sir! I very much agree with giving convenience over cooking fresh meals each time. However I feel not every restrictive notion is nonsense. For example, using nonstick pan is fine until the coating is intact, because no one wants to eat the Teflon coating once it starts coming off. But it doesn’t stay like that for long, so it’s just better to get a cast iron or a higher quality pan which lasts longer.

My husband and I work from home and eat a salad for lunch daily with store bought vegetables from the fridge (in the summer I include the cucumbers, tomatoes, kale from my garden in our salad). I make a simple salad dressing with olive oil and lemon juice or balsamic vinaigrette, salt and pepper for a week and put it on my kitchen counter. Precut vegetables from the weekend shopping trip from my refrigerator or the freezer is a life saver. The time I save by cutting and prepping vegetables for a meal over the weekend for weekday cooking is what I can devote for my Pilates workout. When buying frozen precooked meals for convenience I read the labels to check for preservatives or shady names that I don’t recognize. When cooking rice for my family I boil rice in water and throw away the starchy water. These simple changes have been easy to incorporate into our lifestyle. I ditched non stick cookware and use stainless steel cookware and cast iron. I don’t regret it. My cast iron is not expensive and will last my entire lifetime when compared to the non stick. Non stick pans may be fine but if I use a scratched or peeling pan is it safe? I have to disagree. I use a cast iron to make eggs and it works perfectly. There is something called seasoning a cast iron. Essentially apply oil to the pan after hand washing them. That is how you make a cast iron non stick. I agree that moderation is key.

Starch water means the water that's used to cook rice right? Isn't it good to drink? Why throw away?

@@SandeepDsouza-rz1eyTo be honest, I love love love cast iron. Even though I find it quite time consuming to heat it and apply oil, I love my cast iron kadai more than all my cookwares

Wow .. Amazing !! Must watch for a larger audience . I wish this gets broadcasted in satellite tv and ott streaming. Such a great takeaway. I almost got all the answers I have been searching all over internet for a long time. Finally, few people I follow seriously align on same thoughts. #drpradipjamnadas, #drpal, #drberg, #krishashok

My point is : become more active and do exercise,
    go out in Sunlight,
do something useful to the community/society and have a passtionate goal in life and work towards it.
Food is only part of life not the only thing in life.
Learn to make your own simple meals fresh as much as possible. Remember simple meals won’t take much time. Only you want to make it tasty with all heavy masalas like a gravy in restaurant type meals will take time. Control your taste buds. Learn to get the taste of every vegetable instead of onion tomatoe base in evey dish.

Wonderful, you have put grass to this useless video, first we have to control our tongue for eating and talking, then everyone will become healthy.
