- In early 2020, two aircraft approached the same runway at KUDD from opposite directions. One pilot was on the correct frequency, broadcasting his position and requesting a wind check. The other, tuned to the wrong frequency, landed without warning, forcing the first pilot into a last-second go-around.
This story shows just how critical clear communication is, especially at non-towered airports.
