Thank you SO much for this video! Finally someone made one about this! I've been eyeing a set that looks identical to that first pack of 12, except there's 24 markers. But now I just found another that is identical with 30 colors for only 18 bucks! And someone in the comments mentioned that they blend really well and blend with water (which is what I love so much about the black set of Arrtx markers). I'm about to watch your other video about the Ohuhu marker's. You always make the best content! Much love 💞💞
Thank you! 🥰 That's one of the main reasons I make these videos, to show that lots of products out there are the same and some companies are just better at marketing than others!
Genuinely thank you so much for your videos! It’s so helpful seeing someone take their time to do proper comparisons and reviews of these products. It’s also lovely to see your excitement for art in general too
I just started using acrylic markers in my art and I got a wonderful set of dual tip markers with a medium brush tip. But what I really like is that there are different colors on either end. And cheap of course!
Thanks for sharing. I've been wondering about trying acrylic paint pens for ages - now I know they're basically all the same, the cheap ones will be a good place for me to start. I always like your comparison videos, because your unbiased and you test the things I actually want to know! Thank you for continuing to make these videos 🙂
I bought ALL the arrtx markers for christmas, fell in love but then the pens started leaking and reviews on Facebook said the same, I emailed Arrtx but they basically did not want to know. I sent them back to amazon and had new and they did the same, gets worse with use. I've recently bought five different sets from temu much cheaper but exactly the same!!! and I reckon it's the same manufacturer using different names!!! Crafty way to sell there productsI also emailed Arrtx and asked if they were the same company as Guangna and they did not even reply, also on Guangna it says Real nylon brush hairs, they are NOT. I do love the pens but feel they shouldn't be able to suck people in using different brand names
Haha that's what I feel like sometimes. There's so many products out there, vying for our hard-earned money, and I'm sure most are churned out the same factory 🥰
Lets be honest here. Arrtx uses the same cheap suppliers like the cheap chinese brands. They just pretend to be a more premium brand by charging higher prices for basically the same quality the other brands offer for cheaper. Thats why I'll never get their overpriced cheap stuff.
Yup. They spend more on marketing and sending freebies to youtubers for review and increase their prices to compensate and seem 'Premium'. Tooli-Art are the same. They used to be £10 for a pack of paint pens, then they send freebies out, reviews started popping up and the price increased to £30 per pack. Same pens. 🤷♀️
I wonder, is this the case with Ohuhu? I know it’s alcohol marker, not acrylic but i'm curious if some total no-name on the market sells the same, just way cheaper.
@@miraxterrik The only difference between Ohuhu and cheaper "brands" is the ink. Or rather, the amount of ink inside the markers. They have the same size cartridges, but Ohuhus are more filled I believe. Thats why they wont go out of ink as fast as cheaper markers. Thats the only difference I could find between them and my cheaper Chotune markers from Azon. Tho my Chotune have nicer, softer brush nibs. Ohuhus "brush" nibs are uncomfortably firm and unflexible.
@miraxterrik I like the Ohuhu nibs too, they don't fray like the cheap markers. The Ohuhu ink is also different to the cheapy markers. In the beginning it was the same (even had the same colour numbers) until Ohuhu started producing their own inks (that's when the colour numbers changed). You can tell by distinct smell. 🥰
I’m so happy I’ve found this video!! I was thinking of buying some after seeing them on tiktok but the prices surprised me honestly!! I knew something was sketchy here (no pun intended haha). Many many thanks for this video. Totally subscribed
Interesting to see so many are basically the same ink, not sure what I think about this. I have both the Arrtx sets and I've used them loads, and am really happy with them. So far I've had no issues🤞 I definitely prefer the brush ends to those stubby nib things, as I'm often doing line work, they wouldn't work for me, but handy to know if I need some replacements there are some cheaper ones, as long as I don't need all the colours. (although knowing me, I'd want more colours not less!🤣) I did get both my sets on offer, so its always worth keeping them in your basket and waiting for an offer, they seem to be on offers quite often. Great video, some super Amazon shopping skills here!😉👍
I really like the Arttx pens too which is why I decided to investigate the cheaper sets too although to be honest, I didn't expect them to be so similar! I will use the stubby nib ones for rock painting because the brush tip ones get chewed up on rocks.
How interesting your comparison was on paint pens. Had already watched your previous video. Thanks for you doing this sort of comparison. Much love & *Virtual hugs* xxx
The previous video comparing the Ohuhu and Arrtx Metallic Markers? I do find it interesting when companies spend so much on marketing their products and they're just the same as the other ones that are less marketed
You were spot on with the colour matching the cheaper paint pens to the more expensive. I did notice that the opacity of the cheaper “white label” paint pens was often more poached and as most colourists use paint pens to take out the black lines we are probably better off buying the cheaper variety although the barrel of the last set which looked like crayons super tips barrels obviously would not have very much water based paint in them and would run out faster. I am not a big fan of removing a lot of black lines as it makes whatever you have erased merge into the rest of the page and generally that is the subject of the picture and where your eye should be drawn to. I do use the ohuhu glitter paint pens & I take the nibs out after use and wash them to stop the tips from clogging. Great video Lily, glad you are back love cos I missed you ❤❤❤
That was awesome. Really useful adn will save me a fortune and loads of time shopping about. I can now feel comfortable just buying some cheap brush tip pens and not worry if I havemissed out on quality. I am poor and love art but cant afford the 'good stuff'. Thanks
@@ArtJourneyUK Something that would really help me and maybe others is a recommendation for acrylic paint pens with brush tips that have clear barrels so you can see how much paint is left. I'm on a really tight budget so know how much paint I have makes a huge difference. I can't just go and buy new pens or have spares if Im doing some art. I always have to work with what I've got and not knowing how much paint I've got makes it incredibly hard to plan or commit to a piece.
Couple of questions. Did you notice if any of them smell. I just got arrtx ones. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about any smell affecting my asthma. Also, how where they with ghosting and bleedthrough? Lastly, when the final one dried was it as see through as it looked on screen? Cause I noticed that paint doesn't appear to be as thick in paint coverage. So you make not get the same coverage look. Like you may see through the lines in coloring books with them compared to the other. Thanks for answering my questions and informative video.
@butterflies015 Hi! None of the Acrylic Markers had a smell, that's something I would have noticed and commented on as strong smells bother me too. With regard to the bleedthrough and coverage, I'll have to check the sheet and come back to you 🥰
Absolutely. I always try to make videos like this so people realise that some companies are just better than others at marketing...when in reality the products are all the same
Crazy to see every time. With noodles, everyone knows it, but when "better known" companies do it... uff. Have now bought me the pens with the rainbow label, in a set of 30. ..a lot cheaper than those of Arrtx. Should arrive tomorrow and look forward to it :D Thanks for your video

what's the name? i'd really like to get a beginner set myself lol

Yes, I think it's the same manufacturer for various brands too but Arrtx are better at promoting their products in the community.
Love this video so much. Super helpful. And I love how into it you sound! You sound like a detective cracking a case

Thank you for reviewing these I like these type of pens but you have to layer them to get them opaque in the Disney CBN
Yes, they certainly aren’t the most opaque paint pens. I guess that’s the payoff for the formula that makes them non-shake 🙂

Very very interesting and informative. Do I detect a London regional accent?
Thanks! Yes, London born and bred.

Amazon:- amzn.to/3IbZGL8
Arrtx are so overpriced compared to the others which are basically the same lol.
Yesssss!! They just do more marketing and send freebies out to youtubers to widen exposure... but they're the same pens as the cheap ones!!
