    the worst thing I've found over the years with tac pants is eventually the inner pockets get holes and I worry about losing things, haha. they should reinforce the flimsy pocket material. I've been only using LAPG now with their pants that has more pockets than any other, haha.

      I guess I haven't had that with mine yet.

    Great review as is your standard. The multiple belt loops for holster placement thing just doesn't work for me. They usually get in the way of where I ultimately want to place my holster. I know this is highly personal. Interesting features however. I have been wearing Arcteryx pants as of late. Not cheap either and definitely not tactical. I do not like the trend towards a trimmer, athletic fit either. Again, highly subjective. Thanks for the awesome reviews!

      I keep wanting to get some Arcteryx stuff, although admittedly sometimes just because I want the name. I find their shirts all seem to run long on me so for the most part I don't get them. I'll have to check out the pants though with my upcoming Kili climb.

      @@SnareMan Nice! That sounds like quite the adventure! I find the Arcteryx pants to be pretty tough in general. Probably depends on the model. But you do pay for the brand to be sure. I have never tried on their shirts, but I usually wear a longer shirt for 2A purposes. Maybe they are worth a look?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stronglikemonkey Yea, the long length of their shirts would certainly work for that. But I'm short so everything is long on me. lol

      @@SnareMan Me too! But I have a prodigious gut that I am working on losing that sucks up some length as well. What shoes are those? I was thinking they were either Vasque, Oboz, or Lowa? I have been looking for some warm weather mids. My Salewa's are too hot for the summer in KY. Haven't quite bought into the whole zero drop phenomenon. I like the wider toe box that most have, but that's about it.

      @@stronglikemonkey They are Chacos, similar to the Outcross, but sadly they don't make that specific model anymore. They are perfect for work for me. I scoured the internet a few years ago trying to find all of the last pairs I could.

    I stumbled across your reviews from an LA Police Gear ad. I have a question: I am just a normal everyday guy, an engineer by training who spent a lot of time with Boy Scouts and buy in to the "Be Prepared" motto. Thus I keep a bunch of stuff in my pockets, but I don't "carry" as I work at a nuclear weapons facility and they frown on toting weapons at work. My ideal pants were the old 5.11 Covert Cargo pants. I loved the dual front pockets with the secondary pocket that zips. I bought several pair but they are now discontinued. Are there any pants out there that provide similar pockets? I tried the ScotteVest Hidden Cargo Pants (pricey and now discontinued) and LA Police Gear Basic Operating pants, but neither are as convenient as the Covert Cargos. Do you know an equivalent to the Covert Cargos?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Admittedly I never had the covert cargos but it seems like they basically look like regular khaki pants with that side zip pocket? You're trying to avoid the actual cargo pant / tactical pant look I guess? Depending on how much stuff you want to carry and how zipped in a pocket it has to be Kuhl makes some nice, although pricey stuff

      @@SnareMan I typically carry a butane lighter, space pen, 6' tape measure, jewelers loupe, and chapstick in the zipper left pocket; change purse, pill case, bluetooth, and breathstrips in the front left; all my car fobs in my zipper right; leatherman micra, Levenger key pouch, and Swiss Army in the front right. Billfold in one back and knife & hankie in other back. My cargo pockets are for my Smallest Bible, 1928 Prayer Book, and Levenger pocket briefcase. I need the separate pockets to keep everything straight. I do prefer the flatter cargo pockets and not the big billowy kind. Following the "Be Prepared" motto, these are the items I find are useful to have handy at all times.

      @@SnareMan I bought my last $85 dollar pair from them on a Black Friday deal for $60. VERY worth it! If he did a review and they were on sale now, I would have pulled the trigger. If I can remember to look these up in Nov..who knows..might have a pair. If I see them dip, I will post here for sure.
