Willy, I like your channel and coverage, but interviewing mercenaries fighting in the war is lowbrow. This dude joined to kill. There's nothing saintly about this. This dude is just as evil as Wagner. Killing for money/experience/glory.
How about interviewing a DPR or LPR fighter who's been fighting for independence for a decade? Or a Ukrainian draftee who's squatting under artillery fire? Or the countless civilians who's homes are now rubble?
You have influence in coverage and attention. And I just wish that it wouldn't be wasted on men who simply have a taste for "bad guy" blood.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:13 🎥 Interview discusses an Australian foreign fighter's firsthand experience in Ukraine, including missions and engagements.
02:16 🎙️ Chosen Company is an Australian group attached to the Ukrainian 59th Brigade, specializing in assaulting Russian positions with foreign fighters of various backgrounds.
09:09 🌍 The interview describes a recent trench assault where Chosen Company encountered Russian forces, explaining the confusion and intensity of the situation.
16:59 ⚔️ Chosen Company employs a tactic of quick and aggressive assaults to catch Russian forces off guard and minimize casualties.
23:02 🔫 The interviewee discusses his first kill during the trench assault and how it felt, emphasizing the normalized reaction to the situation.
23:29 🎯 Dave, a foreign fighter in Ukraine, describes his experience of killing in combat as anticlimactic, lacking the expected emotional reactions like euphoria or nausea.
24:12 🔫 Dave discusses clearing a bunker during a trench assault in Ukraine, differentiating it from a fighting position with overhead protection. No one was inside, likely due to fear of artillery and suicide drones.
27:22 🤝 Dave reflects on his empathy for a dying enemy soldier, acknowledging the unfortunate circumstances but recognizing the differences between a quick kill and a prolonged, painful death.
30:10 ⚔️ Dave clarifies a combat video featuring a bayonet, explaining that the situation was misinterpreted, with the enemy initially mistaken for a potential surrendering combatant who later tried to retrieve a weapon.
36:23 💣 Dave mentions that trench warfare, including artillery strikes, is a major concern on the frontlines in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of trenches for protection.
44:09 📈 Dave expresses his satisfaction with experiencing combat in an occupied enemy trench and his readiness for more such engagements, emphasizing the difference between expecting enemy presence and knowing it's there.
45:50 🪶 Fighting in Ukraine can be shocking to see on video, but it's a wild and awesome experience.
46:19🌏 People from distant places like Australia find it astonishing that someone they know is involved in a war in Ukraine.
46:54 🏋️‍♂️ The interviewee has extensive combat experience and wants to pass on his knowledge to help train others.
48:08 💼 Despite potential challenges, he hopes to reenlist and continue contributing to the military.
50:02 🛋️ Much of military life involves waiting, but downtime can be valuable.
52:08 💬 The interviewee emphasizes that the front line is a different world with no rules of society, only violence, death, and destruction.
53:03 🍺 Few people can truly relate to the experiences of those on the front lines, and it's essential to provide a realistic perspective.
54:04 🤝 There's a TH-cam channel and PayPal link to support Chosen Company with funds for gear and equipment replacement.

@@j-nish3570 I’m not pro-Russia. Would love to see Ukraine do what the Fins did in 1939 but it ain’t happening. Nice attempt to demonize me for commenting truthfully. The fact is, Zelensky is in office because Western leaders installed him. He’s as much a puppet as his predecessor. Even if Ukraine were to miraculously pull a win out of its ass, you’d still have a puppet regime in place. Remember how Biden compelled the Ukrainian government to fire the prosecutor that was investigating his son? The west is pulling the strings in Ukraine and has been for more than a decade. Ukraine won’t be independent even if Russia is defeated.

    • @TheGreatAmphibian
      @TheGreatAmphibian 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

@@j-nish3570 FFS… According to doctrine, the security zone in front of a first defensive line is supposed to hold up attackers for something like 72 hours. The UAF have been stuck there more like 72 days. This is one of the worst, most suicidally incompetent performance in military history. It’s inexcusable that the operation wasn’t cancelled: the only point to the horrendous losses always involved in this type of assault is to be ab,e to stage a deep penetration afterwards and both the climate and losses now make that it impossible. For this operation to have had any real strategic impact they should have broken both defensive lines and advanced at least 50km by now.

They just get to choose small actions against small, deserted or sparsely occupied, outposts, or choose to do recon against places which never seem to be occupied at all. Despite his description of a victory against a Russian outpost, it appears his unit took a lot of casualties for no good reason in the aftermath and then left. It sounds like they didn't even expect that trench to be occupied at all. That was the first Russian he ever saw after a year of "assaulting trenches"?

You're delusional if you think that is realistic. The reality of a trench assault is that it is first and foremost softened with indirect fire, and that, artillery, is the real killer. But you still need to have boots to hold ground. Assaulting into a trench is a terrifying and highly specialized skill. You need to be on top of your game with respect to spatial awareness, awareness of your allies and awareness of the enemy. You need to hold all the intel that has been fed to you but also to adapt to changes due to all the 155 holes in the ground.
Having a specialised team who can assault trenches with confidence and aggression is a very different combat skillset to being able to hold trenches for extended periods.
So yeah, you can sit there and whinge about "well they aren't doing the slog" but they have specialist skills and are used in that way. Its not like you would want a nuclear engineer to be a mechanic on your car, sure he might be able to do it, but why do that when he could be in the nuclear power plant preventing Chernobyl. Right job, right person/team.
