    In this episode in our series of bonsai techniques we will be covering what to look for when selecting a field grown material. The purpose of this progression series is to learn how take a tree from a grown material into a bonsai. When selecting a tree you look for the following things: trunk size, movement, taper, branch structures, nebari and others. This video will be in conjunction of a series where we will dive deeper into trident maple species. So please join us in this new series.     i wish we could get a mic on ed it was hard to hear
    but it sounded like he said first goal is to cut the roots in half and take the top off trunk but dont touch the branches but then later when you let it push growth also make sure no knuckling can happen

      Yes Ed does ship. Window is coming up soon. Ranges with age more than size $150-1000.

      @@BaikoenBonsai just have to wait a short 10-15 years. The one you bought is great. I’m interested to see if new roots shoot from the large cut sites

      @@andrewt1176 Ahha like I always say you are paying for time. Tridents are pretty tough. I whacked off more before and they shrug it off. Only weak tridents I seen sulk for a year then bounce back the following.
