Thoughts on some points I forgot to mention. - Each faction has a development to increase the agents on counterintel to 3, very important to protect yourself - Corrino gets a deveopment for 3 free counterintelligence agents, making them very difficult to assassinate - New blue statecraft building to provide a large range of stealth detection, these are critical in detecting incoming Assassins so you have a chance to kill them before they re-up the progression -Ecaz have an armory upgrade for Musketeers allowing long range stealth detection, making them the premier anti-assassin units in the game. Station them around your vulnerable villages in peacetime to keep watch for incoming sassins - Assassins need supply, making long range assassins difficult, you can pull of some long range shenanigans by combining long walks (or sneaky deep desert walks) with supply drop operations. Beware seemingly nonsensical supply drops! They might be providing for sneaky sassins! - Fremen can rally assassins to sietches in the back lines!
@@choochoochic If you are truced then bases/missiles do NOT target assassins and if you try to attack with military you WILL betray the truce. Best practice is to go into diplomacy and spend influence to cancel the truce there as soon as you detect the attempt.
The Ecaz one is a good shout, with the 100% damage on first shot and the detection I think they can snipe the assassin down before they get in? It does kinda split the army, but they're only 3 cp
Atreides also gets a tech to receive resources from counterintel (influence/intel production), at the cost of not increasing the max amount enemy infiltration cells/reducing assassin intel cost. It also makes Atreides kindof the worst faction to eliminate others because they are bad at assassination and also don't get the bonus dmg to base tech either.
Thanks so much for this. Yours is the best information I have found on what all the screen info means and the method to initiate and prevent. I loaded up the last game which I was assassinated and was able to prevent it this time.
Hello! I'd like to add some information regarding assassination detection. When you initiate an assassination, you choose a territory where the operation will take place. If there is a blue building (monitoring station) with the buff "+20% spying operation detection" in that territory, your assassination attempt is more likely to be quickly detected by your enemy. This buff can be spotted in the territory's buff bar. Thank you for the video!
I was assassinated by the Fremen in a Conquest game, never detected it at all, killed me at the end of 4 hour game I was about to win too. This game is EPIC... Myself tho, assassination is elusive still, too many part moving. I'd rather wipe the whole map with troops than go the cloak and dagger way. :) Good tutorial, thanks.
Thank u so much man, a really great and informative video! Hope u come with more of these infomational dune videos bc the game is preety hard but its also a beautiful rts/4x one!
I think you only get there by following a tangled web of tooltips, hence the video! Its extremely common that no one has any idea what is going on with an assassination when they start playing.
Thanks. Figuring all of this out myself would’ve taken me many games ans even more hours and frustrations. The basic tutorials in the game are great, but anything more advanced and especially win conditions aren’t explained at all.
Great video, thanks! Can you please do one on how to get the Kraken in conquest mode? This is really confusing for a lot of people and we don't know how to get it.
There must be more to it: AI cancels the assassination attempt when you found the cells, but real life players dont. Even if you found all cells, the bar will keep running. There will always be 1 agent to finish the job. Even abandon all villages will keep te bar running. A well planned attack by Vernius or Freman with lots of cells is hopeless to defend. Not even spoken about the time: within the 16days you can only do 2 cell search operation+send military to search. Its impossible to find all cells. Counteragents will not slow down anything. Any thoughts on this?
Is it possible that you can't do the assasination as a Fremen? I don't get the opportunity to place infiltration cells and always have to defend myself against these dishonourable Atreides with their assassination attempts without being able to strike out myself.
Very good explanation video! I'm not sure I like this mechanic. It has too many parts that affect one another and the game doesn't really explain them well enough. It also feels like it's something that happens in the backend and isn't really affected by anything else on the map. You need to do a lot of different things to get there. The game doesn't tell where and how to send your assassin. Even the assisn is described as a military unit and not telling you it can participate in a spy actions. Or how to stop it fast and clear enough. It doesn't tell you to search a village with a military unit. Or maybe it does but it's really hard to follow. The outcome is a confusing ending that feels ripped off.
Different factions will learn more towards certain win cons than others. Stopping hege is "simple" you need to annex or liberate the Heger's territory--especially any special regions. Corrino - Hegemony, Choam, Governor, Domination Ecaz - Hegemony, Governor Atreides - Hegemony, Governor Harkonens - Choam, Assassinations, Domination Smugglers - a little bit of everything Fremen - Hegemony Vernius - Hegemony, assassinations

does killing an assassin betray a truce, and do main bases/missile turrets target assassins from a faction in truce?

Hey, when you click on a village, it shows solari and water, what does it mean when they are red/ grey/ green
Turin had a crazy game the other day where his assassination attempt was stopped at 99. Unbelievable
Do you have the link to the game ? I watch a ton of is videos but I maybe missed this one.
It was a butt clencher for sure.
Damn, I love this guide, I haven't seen a single guide explain any topic as clear as you just did. Thanks! Btw I love seeing your games with Turin
This was fantastic, thank you.
Assassination was the one part of the game I was finding a little opaque, this was really helpful.
Bless the maker for Daevohk's excellent beginner guides 🙌

Loving all those dune guides. Thanks!

Brilliant explanation, thank for bringing to light what ended my first game abruptly.
What a useful and to the point video. Thanks!
Thank you, your video is very insightful. I finally understand how assassination works in Dune Spice Wars.
i had no idea that the assassin unit was so pivotal, the tooltip for it doesn't mention it at all!
Appreciate the guides hoping for more game commentary soon
Excellent informative video! I'm looking forward to viewing your other videos to learn more about this fun game.
great video expplained very well jsut the video i was looking for assasinations is kinda confusing at first
Thank you very much! There i was, searching cells with "probe setup"...
Intuitive, it is not
I was doing this also 😂

@@LegosDeus some assassinations are just heartbreaking. I prefer good old military might myself

Thank you! I'm scheming more learning content. There is so much that is interconnected, it is challenging to cut into smaller pieces.
Awsome video, thank you. Really helped me understand a lot!
Many thanks for thus, I keep dying by these assassins 😅
Thanks, that was very useful!
thanks finally i understood how to do it
Gosh thanks so much for this guide, I knew nothing at all about those spy mechanics. Is that explained anywhere in the game?
I think you only get there by following a tangled web of tooltips, hence the video! Its extremely common that no one has any idea what is going on with an assassination when they start playing.
No!
:D
I wish I had this game tbh, it looks so funny and cool

A Well made guide! 👍
Great video, thanks! Can you please do one on how to get the Kraken in conquest mode? This is really confusing for a lot of people and we don't know how to get it.
Good question, I don't know either! I have only gone through conquest with Ecaz. These days i spent 100% of my time in multiplayer game.
Great guide! Thank you!❤

this game is fucking amazing, thank you so much for the guide!

It has gotten a bit more clear with recent patches, but its still a crazy convoluted mechanic.
big help thx
i was wondering how you make the descision on which victory condition to go for. And how do you stop people from winning from hedge.

Corrino - Hegemony, Choam, Governor, Domination
Ecaz - Hegemony, Governor
Atreides - Hegemony, Governor
Harkonens - Choam, Assassinations, Domination
Smugglers - a little bit of everything
Fremen - Hegemony
Vernius - Hegemony, assassinations
I need to make sure my friends don't see this... Currently I'm the only one that truly understands the mechanics of it lol.
It is the hidden knowledge!
Yippeee!
