  • 2007 XC 90 V8 Currently no exhaust on it. I have some 2.5” stainless tubing and resonator I will weld on to some of the stock exhaust which I will show later in another video. Right now in this footage it’s straight cats but these actually have 2 pairs of cats; I hollowed out the last two with a piece of rebar, anyways just sayin. Aside from that it’s stock, I do all the work and going to record more for this Volvo so keep an eye out.

    Man that sounds nice! About those taillights....are they stock, aftermarket or did you make them?

      Yes they came stock for last few years 2010-2014 this is an 07 but they will wire in fine with a simple transistor. I bought them on eBay so they’re attainable

      Thank you, I actually just drove it, I have to do an alignment but it’s way too loud without exhaust, I’m going to weld it up soon, thanks for checking out the video

    I’d go true dual, with an h-pipe or no crossover, and glasspacks. Sounds the best imo.

    • @nilssjoberg2522
      @nilssjoberg2522 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These cars have a factory Y pipe. True dual probably wouldnt be good for scavenging

      @@nilssjoberg2522 every V8 can be run better in true dual than with a y-pipe. you don’t even need any ECU adjustments.
      It will just sound and perform better, especially with an h- or x-pipe.
      of course you have to get it done at an exhaust shop who know what they’re doing.

      If you can find one - you’d be lucky! (1) Check - the gearbox first - GM boxes were used in the beginning - and were prone to faults. (Also the - (2) Starter (3) Alternator. These used by Ford were inappropriate to the engine. When Ford manufacturers a new vehicle - such as the XC90 V8 - the vehicles are launched without extensive testing. The engine itself - Yamaha is fantastic - just do not ever clean your engine with a high pressured water hose of any form. Keep the engine bay dry. Good luck. I have 2x S80 V8 and have had to rebuild and repair per the above - sans gearboxes. (The gearbox used on the S80 is different.) Fantastic safe car to drive.

      I just found one on Craigslist. It’s an 08 v8 but it has 220,000 miles, guys says it’s been driven by two pilots from texas to Kansas frequently and it’s on its second gearbox. I know about the gear box revision and am not scared to take it on. I just finically have this xc90 purring nicely, at first it screamed from the belt drive/ pulleys and what not. But would you buy it? With that many miles , otherwise the body and interior are clean, only thing I don’t like is the integrated entertainment systems, it has the screens in the dead rest and lil dash nav, ( my first xc90 v8 had this) but I didn’t like it, it was so outdated but that’s minor anyways they want $5500

    Cousin Jack! 220000 miles is a lot of mileage! Engine never really works as there is massive amount of power at low revs. You must also consider all the other mechanical components. In NZ we have mechanical insurances - if you decided to purchase, I would def add the mechanical insurance - covering as much as possible. Can you get a pre purchase report? Ie A complete check on vehicle by an independent mechanic - $180 NZ. (Both my V8 were under 100,000 Kilos when I purchased them.) Volvos in NZ are expensive to repair - but what a car to drive! Do your homework thoroughly esp the gearbox. Good luck Mate!
