- Some relaxed Sunday riding just to see how my new Michelin Anakee tires behave in comparison to Michelin Road 5 tires. Tried to find the surface( light gravel-ish) that I am most likely to tackle(apart from asphalt) in the incoming season.
What measurement did you use? My bike rim is 17 and I'm in Brazil. I really want to put this tire on.
Front tire 120/70-ZR17
Rear tire 160/60-ZR17
Careful in mud dude they squirrel bad in mud but in gravel and stone they are pretty good.i found them on road dam good.what pressures you running.
Thanks for the advice, i don't think I would trust on mud anything else than full knobblies .You are right, on pavement these tires are really good, subjectively I trust them more than road 5 ,especially cornering.
Tyre pressure not sure tbh, I assume the guy has inflated them to the pressure as in the books
I usually stick to 29-41 psi
@Pi and The Wheels with the pressure I run 25 front and 36 rear .yes the anakee has a softish sidewall but they seem to work really well on gravel at that psi.... keep up the content dude, ride safe.
Thanks, I'll double check the psi on mine, just out of interest. Safe riding!
How are the tyres doing? is the grip on gravel worth what you lose in road grip and increased noise level over the Road 5? thanks
Hi ,over all happy with these tyres
Now I have more confidence going on light off road/ gravel
I don't think you loose much on pavement, these tyres actually are pretty good even on wet.
The only problem was the noise ,which after couple of thousand miles either diminished or I got used to .Just came back from Pyrenees and Picos and tyres did great job on various types of roads and conditions. Would definitely recommend it
@@piandthewheels thanks, bit worried about vibration maybe from the anakee adventure., doubt I'd hear any noise from them with everything else going on.
I swapped over and am very happy with them.I’ve just come back from a few days travelling over Exmoor and Dartmoor ( 1k miles) I agree that they are noisier than Road 6s particularly when cornering but I can live with that .I felt they gave great grip on single track lane’s especially those with loose gravel.
Hi,I'm looking swap out my Road 6 to Anakee after a number of punctures/nails which meant the tyres could not be repaired due to their speed rating and its cisting ne a packet.I dont do off roading just small gravel eoads but mainly tarmac. What is your long term view on the Anakees performance. Thanks Richard ( Bristol 500CBX 2017 model)
Changing from road 6 to anakee adventure myself.
I swapped roads 5 for anakee, and happy with my choice, suits my style of riding
Just did 2k miles trip to pyrenees and Picos ( mixed terrain and conditions) these tyres performed faultlesly
@@piandthewheels Thanks guys, going to give them a try.
Qual a medida que você usou? o aro da minha moto é 17
