@@FoodandFootprints It does. Whenever I cook d rice flat noodles, my Malay version must have d cilli paste n belacan as d base, oyster n soy sauce is a must. Love it with prawns n cockles, lots of crunchy bean sprouts n garlic chives, tofu is a nice addition. For my sliced green chili pickles, I love it sweetened.
hahah cool name quackteow! Yummmm interesting with duck egg! Going to add this to the infinite list of food to eat in KL haha. I like the sound of this sambal!!
Quackteow haha such a cool name for char kway teow stall 👍🏻 Like it! Haha quackteow and chickteow, even the dish names are great already. Ahhhh now we want some kway teow for lunch 🤤
The duck egg char koay teow looks amazing. Now that I think about it I've never seen char koay teow with sambal. It must be even more delicious as the spiciness magnifies all those flavor 😋
Love the name of these places. I don't think we've tried duck eggs before. I was going to ask you if it makes a difference. Glad to know it adds a little something special. You can tell these noodles are packed with flavor. Love how the noodles are a bit charred.
Quackteow from name to the dish itself nothing but awesomeness. The black sambal sauce n the side is also unique. Can almost taste the wokeh from here. 🤤 duck egg is a great addition for some extra flavor 😋
Ahhh yes extra sambal for char kway teow is unique! We would love to pick duck egg over chicken egg for char kway teow if there is an option for that for sure 😍
Just by your impression, I would say the duck is more flavorful. I (Maria) absolutely looove duck, and while we both love chicken, the flavor of duck is very rich
The usual char koay teow doesn't have much pork based ingredients if any. Occasionally you might find lap cheong (chinese pork sausage) or pork oil in certain stalls. In order for it to be Halal, each ingredient has to be from a Halal source. You may Google more about Halal foods in Malaysia if you're interested.
Thanks for this video. It's very rare to see Halal Chinese cuisines in KL n throughout Malaysia.
I wonder if u have been to any other Halal Chinese food outlet ie yong tofu, cheong fun, dim sum etc. I only know one halal yong tofu in ampang city.
We're looking for more Halal Chinese foods around town. Probably more of these in the future videos
@@PuriandSue That's nice to know.
That sambal has a really interesting dark color - can imagine how nice it must taste mixed together with everything
It's very unique. Love how they added their own flare into the dish
Delicious char kway tiaw. I liked it when eaten with pickled chillies n keropok too.
Yasin Affandi We ate it with pickled chilies at our favorite Malaysian restaurant in NYC. Adds a nice flavor!

It's so rare to find a Halal char koay teow. The founder got inspired during his trip to Penang and decided to bring it to KL. 😄
".. because of it is halal, everybody can enjoy it.", said Puri, 2020. i like that statement.

sooo spicy, but you still keep your composure, can you imagine us eating that? Greg and Jumi can tell you how bad we would be lol
Well, it's not overly spicy. I don't think i can keep this composure in Thailand though 😅
Ooh halal.. that's cool.. man, looks good guys.. something to excite the taste buds 🙂
Halal version of this dish is pretty rare to come by. Glad we have it nearby us
You guys are making me hungry and drooling for the foods you try! 😂😂😂
