Hey boys and girls! This video I am taking you to my favourite suburb in Kuala Lumpur!
Chow Kit is a suburb in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located around Jalan Chow Kit (Chow Kit Road) and is enclosed by the parallel streets of Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. It is named after Loke Chow Kit (陸秋傑) a well-known miner, municipal councilor, public official, and also the first local owner of a department store - Chow Kit & Co - which was the largest in KL at the time.

My only memory of Chow Kit Road was my parents used to bring me to the famous supermarket in Chow Kit Road in the 80s known as Hankyu Jaya located opposite Pasar Chow Kit. Behind Hankyu Jaya if you walk beside the lorong, there used to have one stall selling delicious fried raddish. But I think it is not there anymore now.

Pantang-lah ! The perceived "back yard shack" location has bring decades of luck & success for this nasi lemak business. Relocation may not be an option for the superstitious Chinese businessman.

This Nasi Lemak man's business could have suffered very badly during Covid lockdown & travel restrictions. He is now working very hard to recoup the Covid losses amidst current days of rising living cost. Therefore could not even afford to renovate current business premises even if he wants to. I feel for such small business struggling to survive during this tough economic situation.
