Actually before Andis had the double magnetic guards their standard guards where the older black ones the metal clip similar to the one you showed. They didn't have the laser etched number plate though. I just ordered the JRL magnetic guards, I can't wait to see how they work.

The Cocco Premium Guards are good too! But the Andis double magnetic are my favorite

I find myself torn between the wahl premiums and stylecraft dubs. I might need to check out those tight guards... are the babyliss guards game changing?
i like babyliss 1-1/2 and down, the bigger sizes arent better than wahl
Babyliss half guard is 🔥🔥
JRL guards are fire! I use to use the wahl premium guards but switched to the JRLs. They are all plastic but its a durable plastic, on par with wahl maybe better🤷🏾♂️.
The half guard has longer teeth than the wahl 1/2, you can almost blend the half straight into a 1 1/2 or 2 guard on the JRLs.
Im waiting to see how the JRL magnetic guards hold up once the drop👀
The JRL guards were a pleasant surprise for sure! Didn't expect to get such good guards with the Onyx
U like them vs the gamma dub guards? And u messing with all JRL guards are just the 1/2 and 1 1/2? Been trying to figure out which ones i like best but keep going to wahl
@@bthebarber916 I haven’t tried the dub guards personally, ive heard mixed reviews between durability and that the spacing between the teeth and length of the guards cut the hair alot different than something like Wahl, Andis, or JRL. There is a barber in the shop who uses them, ill ask what they think.
As far as which guards I personally use. I use all the JRL guards. Typically no higher than a 3 is ever out on my station. I use JRL 1/2 and 1 1/2 the most. Using both the #1 and #1/2 ive found to be wasting time. The #1/2 can easily fade into a #1 1/2 by lightening up pressure.
In conclusion the JRL guards reduce the amount of steps I have to take fading in between guidelines. I have found using the Onyx clippers and the Wahl premium guards required more of swapping guards to fade rather than simple lever play or changing your pressure up against the head. //ztb
Speed o guards still work? When I first got into barbering they were the king of clipper guards, used by all, by the time I finished barber school they all but disappeared from barber stations

I like them but their 1.5 is trash and the .5 based on hair texture pushes hair a lot instead of cutting it. Thats why i prefer andis dbl magnetic all the way. Material is better and feed hair better and their blending guards cut hair flush instead of missing a lot of the hair.

@@bcd398 I've only tried the Andis guards. Those are great as well but I only used them on the Oster fast feed. Wahl fits on all clippers except andis. It's all preference at the end of the day. Whatever works for you. Wahl system is very easy and simple to use.

Will the Wahl premiums and Gamma Dubs fit the Babyliss Lo pro fX One ? … The Babyliss are too thick , too tight and trap hair. Great Review

I bought the babyliss guards, but there to thick, the hair gets stuck between the clipper
thats why i only like the number 2 guard and down

@@ConcisetheBarber it’s the one with the slightly curved teeth, thin,snaps on the sides of the clipper blades. It’s the one all the menspire guys use and Yass the barber. It’s a game changer for 2 guard fading, you can skip the .5 guard.
Have you noticed gamma dubs are loose and rattle on the low pro fx one?

great question...sometimes thats a hard things to figure out..but what ive notes ..is that wahl premium guard are good ..and andis purple guards
