Hi Red that was a nice ride. When I shut my bikes down for the winter they have full tanks with non oxygenated premium gas. It has no alcohol and that is what wreaks havoc in the fuel system. I don't know if you can get that in Canada. I bought a Classic to replace the Ultra Classic that I hit the deer with, and trying to make up some lost time. It's going to be a long winter. Let it be our little secret. Please don't tell my Doctors. Just my opinion but if had to pick I would shut down the shovel. This is a good time of year to have a windshield on the Dyna. Ride safe Angel.

hey Red took a ride today also had to put on a bigger coat wind chill was in the mid 50.s you can tell fall is in the air we get cold weather here on the east coast of south carolina but nothing like you get so ride when you can stay safe
Insurance isn't optional in Texas but can't imagine canceling it for part of the year. So of course we just hop on any old time because we have insurance year round.
We also have fall in Texas most of the trees lose their leaves except for the Evergreens the grass turns brown in the fall this year the grass turned brown in the summer because of drought going through a little green up right now before winter then it will turn brown absolutely great riding weather now through December January and February are for die hards mostly even then some days are good to go summer is sometimes too hot I have seen people with a bag of ice on the handle bars it's called a Texas air conditioner lol. just a little what its like here. East Texas is mostly pine trees and Oak trees west Texas is mostly desert Mesquite and cedar trees and lots and lots of prickly pear cactus Central Texas has some of the best roads and Views in the whole state the Texas Hill Country is what most riders in Texas talk about
Its not optional here, in NY the no insurance penalty is 8 dollars a day, in Ga there is a fine also for no insurance. If your stopped without ins you will be fined and the vehicle will be impounded, a that is expensive.
It was great to see your reaction to the Pumpkin Spice. Coffee….Black, iced or hot. That’s the taste. Shovel hibernation is always tough. Mine should have Velcro for all the times I’ve taken it apart in the winter. Ride Safe Red. Thanks for making this video.
What a joy. Got a coffee date and a nice ride on the shovelhead. Bonus got to see Loki the Bird and Tiny. Now the shovelhead will get some rest and TLC. Be safe out there Angel and thank you for sharing!
Last ride of the year for the Shovelhead...boo-hoo... 2 things in your video. 1) Traffic lights in Florida are the longest in the world, I think. And, when it's 115F in the summer here, you feel like you are melting. And, 2) I live about 4 or 5 Kilometers from Disney World and the traffic here is CRAZY. I don't even try to go out on the bike when I know it'll be super heavy. I'm glad Loki came home. He knows he's got a good thing going living by you...haha Peace. Eric in Kissimmee.
Hey red nice little last ride around town always enjoy your videos sadly all bikes need tlc but that’s part of it lol I spent a lot of time in rock creek and the road between there and Kelowna through beaverdale is nice maybe that could be a ride for you on your evo … stay safe and keep the content coming great job 👏
Its been too long since I have had a bike but your rides get me there again and the views of the mountains and valleys are really enjoyable. Such a great place. Thank you for bringing us along. Glad Loki made it home. That was a good choice for the Shovelheads last ride for awhile. Its good to wave at other bikers.
Hello Angel. head up Westside rd sometime. You'll see lots of burned down homes just past Bearcreek (Traders Cove and further up to Okanagan Lake resort) Devastation up there. Pretty sad to see
Actually, riding in the States without insurance is a big no-no also... that has become a bigger deal most places lately (depends on State)... here in Minnesnowta insurance is a must! Does Caribou Coffee have a footprint in Kelowna? Caribou is a Minnesota Co. Their pumkin spice lattes are better than Starbucks IMHO. I took both of my bikes to storage this past Saturday... sad day. 😢 😎
Dyna always gonna win. I mean, it has its pros and cons like everything in the world but the Dynas are lived for alot if reasons. Reliability is one. Specially if you do the upgrades for the compensator, timing chain guides depending on year and a little something with the camshaft endplay I think. Haven't done any of them to any of my bikes yet but getting ready to open up my 02 lowrider with 44k. Looking forward to it actually I am. As always..... keep on keeping on Sister ✌️🍀
@@juniorcopeland9082 Hence me saying in my comment " depending on the year". I've not paid that much attention to the details of her bikes. Just generally. I like the fact she rides, fixes what she can, learn what she doesn't know and best of all? She just really seems down to earth, free spirited and compassionate where it counts. You take the motorcycles out of the equation and she's still one of the good human beings. Anyway I'm rambling. Evos are good. Your right. Way to point that out. Ride safe!✌️
@@ScottFree-dl1vy yes I saw where you stated that, I was just saying, for the people that didn't know, that her bike had an Evo engine and never had the twin cam problems, in my opinion the Evo engine is one of the most reliable engines made !! I've had Evo engines run way over a 100k miles on them without any major issues, you would be lucky to get that many miles on any other HD !! You really should check your cam chain tensioners, because that's about the mileage that the plastic material wears off, gets into the aluminum and destroys your engine !! Ride safe brother ✌✌And what you stated about Angel is very true, she is a very smart and fast learning gal, and a fast learner, and her dad is a very good mechanic and fabricator as well, as they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree !!
@@juniorcopeland9082 not true Sir, about the mileage. I only build Twin Cam engines in my shop and have seen tensioner shoes fail at less than 10,000 miles, and others that last 60,000 or more.
@@t.s.racing yes I know, depends on if you keep up the maintenance or not, and if you use synthetic oil, at what milage they fail, I'm just saying on the average 35-40k they are pretty much worn out...in my experience...not debating with you, just my observation, different people have different results !! Have a nice day sir !!
Been watching your channel now for a few months. You are doing a good job...keep it up. You live and ride in such a nice area. In your last shovel ride for this season you went down McKinley road. I went down that road when i was out in August for my sons wedding. Nice area. The fires were bad when i was there. It jumped the lake when i was there and effected that McKinley area. So sad. Thoughts from Alberta. Have a good one.
It seems to me that the wide glide is much smoother than the springer, only problem is, springers are so cool right? Just make sure you keep thar springer greased and check spring tension at least twice a season, because HD engines like to loosen things, and you don't want anything loose on a springer! I've lost dear freinds because they didn't check the forks often enough, I use locktite on the threads every time I work on em to save lives.
When was the last time your were pulled up just ride it. Over here it $600 a year to register a bike but the fine is only $200 and I I havnt had a ticket in 6 years saved myself a fortune not registering any thing lol. 😁🇬🇸👍
Insurance is not optional in NY. I pay $114 per year for my '87 FXR. That covers collision, theft, liability, everything. I totaled it in 2000 just after putting a ton of money in to it. State Farm wanted to give me a fraction of that for it. I begged them to cover the repairs and not total it. They gave in and paid for everything. It's the only claim I've ever had. I still have the bike.
hi im pete from the uk, love your bike sounds good, looks good, i have a sportster, roadking and a suzuki hardtail which gives me so much bother, take care this winter
Id keep both, they dont make them models anymore, the Wideglide isnt available anymore over here long time, there IMHO the most comfortable ride, as I have the same model as you, enjoyed the ride, but I was concerned about lane splitting and right close behind cars, over here people open doors on purpose and slam brakes on thinking its fun, which can turn lethal, look after yourself mate👍👋 Cheers 🍺🍻🍺🍻KC 🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸😎✌👍

Surely you will keep the one with the starter,I would think! Have fun and stay safe!😎✌️There’s no way I would ride my motorcycles without full coverage insurance! Motorcycle insurance is actually pretty cheap in Georgia! Full coverage on both my cycles was less than 300 a year! If something bad happens they are paid for! If you caused a accident and someone was killed and you didn’t have insurance you would be king sized screwed!😎✌️

Harleys and crows!!?! I have rescued a bunch of crows over the years, but had one for about 7 years. I love them. Riding a road king these days. This vid makes me miss my shovel head. Kicking myself for selling it.
Red, I vote for the Dyna. Push button start, probably more reliable ! Lights, brakes ? Drive safe, have fun…….get coffee often 🥳☕️☕️. Oh, ride with someone ….🙃. Thanks for the views and words from those pink lips 🫣
I know the feeling of having two rides to choose from a Street Slide and a Road King. I really love riding the RK So if I have to put one away it would be the SG
I had two wild crows that for years would tap my kitchen window every morning to get left overs then one year they just went away. My mother had a talking crow that was uncaged and just stayed by the house. I was a kid and thought all birds could talk.
I thought it was dependent on the state you lived in. I checked into it again and it not mandatory in Florida to have MC insurance... I'm not even sure where I heard that to begin with now.
Good choice on keeping the Dyna. I have a buddy that has a shovel his tranny has been leaking for a couple of years. It got so bad he couldn't ride it. So they tore it apart and changed a bunch of seals and put it back together... two months later it started leaking again. It sat most of the summer not sure if it will be fixed this year or not. More trouble than they are worth if you ask me. As much as I ride I would need any upper end done every three years or so. No mas.
It's -16°C here and there's a lot of snow lying around. So bad that the darlings have to stay in the garage. So I can really sympathize when you complain and have to cancel the beautiful princess shovelhead.
Mine is a turban top tranny and the shifter linkage is custom made. I do have a couple walk around videos of the shovel where I talk about some of the parts and show things closer up. Here's links to those vids in case you haven't seen them: th-cam.com/video/OTirlHiyiFk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=F_U8LbjjTC2Ys7fs th-cam.com/video/TuJJBUr5Tm0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Wo4peLFvmySyMY1x And I will eventually do another video about the shovelhead just haven't palnned that out yet. Thanks for watching!
Jeez, I thought that my approximate 100 mile range before reserve light was too little.. you must be stoping at lot for fuel when on a proper weekend road trip.
There's something magical about a shovelhead (I have a 78 flh bobber) sometimes its good and sometimes a curse haha 😄. I also have 91 springer softtail & a 92 electra glide ultra classic and if I could only keep one it's going to be the shovelhead. I live in Virginia and I have lived in many other states also and everyone has required insurance. Here in Virginia if you let your insurance laps the DMV is notified and they will suspend your driver's license.
Don’t feel bad about having to do some “maintenance repairs” on the shovel. It happens. My Indian is going to require over $1000 in parts, which made me pull it off the road in July. So the Softail got ridden a lot more than usual this year. As far as insurance is concerned here in the states, I think it varies somewhat state to state. Here in Ohio, we have to carry it. We also have to pay for uninsured/underinsured motorists as part of each policy. Which makes no sense, since we’re all supposed to carry it to get licenses, plates, etc. (Of course folks can lie when getting plates or licenses, cuz we don’t have to show proof at that time…..🤷♂️) Stupid, I know. Stay cool Angel! (You’re most likely a touch colder up there than we in Ohio are.)
bloody Go Pro's lol... but there isnt any other camera that can do what they do when they work..... doing the clutch on my 94 Softail today.. should be a easy job?? lol... bit close on the tail lol.. at least ya didnt hit it... you need a Canadian Winter Down Under Red..... its getting nice here now.. cheers mate .. East Texas is mostly pine trees and Oak trees west Texas is mostly desert Mesquite and cedar trees and lots and lots of prickly pear cactus Central Texas has some of the best roads and Views in the whole state the Texas Hill Country is what most riders in Texas talk about
I think if I were to visit Texas then I would wait till the cooler months. Sounds like some good riding though!
Fine ride with beautiful fall colours. Thank you for posting ride safe and give that bike spme winter love 🙂...Harry
Always!
Its not optional here, in NY the no insurance penalty is 8 dollars a day, in Ga there is a fine also for no insurance. If your stopped without ins you will be fined and the vehicle will be impounded, a that is expensive.
Not sure where I got the idea that it's an option 🤔
It was great to see your reaction to the Pumpkin Spice. Coffee….Black, iced or hot. That’s the taste. Shovel hibernation is always tough. Mine should have Velcro for all the times I’ve taken it apart in the winter. Ride Safe Red. Thanks for making this video.
Yep, pumpkin spice coffee isn't all it's hyped up to be
What a joy. Got a coffee date and a nice ride on the shovelhead. Bonus got to see Loki the Bird and Tiny. Now the shovelhead will get some rest and TLC. Be safe out there Angel and thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Last ride of the year for the Shovelhead...boo-hoo...
He knows he's got a good thing going living by you...haha
Peace. Eric in Kissimmee.
I can't imagine riding in that heat and traffic 🥵 🤮 I'm thankful for the country roads I have to get away on.
Hey thanks! Yea I rode highway 33 a few times this year once on my shovel and a couple times on the dyna.
I could always keep the wheels warm for you, year round here in So Cal.
I took both of my bikes to storage this past Saturday... sad day. 😢
😎
We don't have a Caribou Coffee here unfortunately 😔
Dyna always gonna win. I mean, it has its pros and cons like everything in the world but the Dynas are lived for alot if reasons. Reliability is one. Specially if you do the upgrades for the compensator, timing chain guides depending on year and a little something with the camshaft endplay I think. Haven't done any of them to any of my bikes yet but getting ready to open up my 02 lowrider with 44k. Looking forward to it actually I am. As always..... keep on keeping on Sister ✌️🍀
Her dyna has an Evo engine doesn't have any of those problems, like the twin cams do !!
I can't believe how close you got to that vehicle. You scared me try a peppermint mocha from Starbucks.
It's one of my favorites.
Angel we do need ins in the states to drive legally ☹️
In Oregon you are required to have insurance on public roads, it is not optional. I have 5 bikes insured year round.
No mandatory motorcycle insurance in Florida Sir.
Nor emission testing, or the biggest scam of all, vehicle inspection.
Thanks!! Yea there is a back road around there that goes to Vernon, I’ve driven it part ways so far.
Cont. I replaced my exhaust for a vance and Hines short shots..sounds good.
Nice!
Yea I really love old springer front ends. And thanks for the tips 👍
When was the last time your were pulled up just ride it. Over here it $600 a year to register a bike but the fine is only $200 and I I havnt had a ticket in 6 years saved myself a fortune not registering any thing lol. 😁🇬🇸👍
Congrats on 15 thousand Subs! When you mentioned it in this video I had to take look and you made it.
Yes! Thank you!
That pumpkin latie sounds good right about now in louisana
Insurance is not optional in NY. I pay $114 per year for my '87 FXR. That covers collision, theft, liability, everything. I totaled it in 2000 just after putting a ton of money in to it. State Farm wanted to give me a fraction of that for it. I begged them to cover the repairs and not total it. They gave in and paid for everything. It's the only claim I've ever had. I still have the bike.
Man, I pay $129 PER MONTH for basic insurance on one of my bikes 😤
hi im pete from the uk, love your bike sounds good, looks good, i have a sportster, roadking and a suzuki hardtail which gives me so much bother, take care this winter
Thanks Pete! I’m glad you’re liking the channel 😃
At least your winter doesn’t last 4/5 mont here in Quebec
Thankfully!
Yea, I can get a little over zealous sometimes. Thanks for the concern ✌️ And I kept em both, just parked for the winter.
@@RedRiderCanadaBC my pleasure and all good, understand winter there, same were we live in the mountains during winter, Cheers for the reply 👍 appreciated 👊🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸👍
Nice ride, keep the Shovel.
It ain't going nowhere!
Got to keep the Shovel ❤ sorry thought you were selling one
Nope!
I'm gonna try to ride my Road King all winter this year. Or my Sporty. We'll see what Denver has for snow this season.
I think I’ll keep the dyna going all winter too
Oh red time to park that shovel 😢 oh well luck you got two bikes hey your guys have some stick laws in your country in newzealand were I live you just need a wof and a Rego and a bike license and it's up to you if you want insurance be nice to see your country looks like a nice place
I wish it were like that here, insurance is ridiculously priced.
We need insurance in the states too it’s mandatory and it’s high priced too
A very entertaining video with a wonderful detour. 🖐️
✌️😁
Surely you will keep the one with the starter,I would think! Have fun and stay safe!😎✌️There’s no way I would ride my motorcycles without full coverage insurance! Motorcycle insurance is actually pretty cheap in Georgia! Full coverage on both my cycles was less than 300 a year! If something bad happens they are paid for! If you caused a accident and someone was killed and you didn’t have insurance you would be king sized screwed!😎✌️
🙂👍
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Our Ding-Bat president is about to get the USA into WWIII ! It could happen any day now! I’m praying it won’t happen but it’s getting worse every day!
Very beautiful countryside
Harleys and crows!!?! I have rescued a bunch of crows over the years, but had one for about 7 years. I love them. Riding a road king these days. This vid makes me miss my shovel head. Kicking myself for selling it.
Everyone who sells their shovels regrets it...
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Totally, may just need to buy another one. Gotta have a second bike anyway.
Sorry you have to put up the Shovelhead, but just think how exciting it will be when take it out next year for its first ride!
Yep!!
Red, I vote for the Dyna. Push button start, probably more reliable ! Lights, brakes ? Drive safe, have fun…….get coffee often 🥳☕️☕️. Oh, ride with someone ….🙃. Thanks for the views and words from those pink lips 🫣
Nice filtering Red 👌😘
😁👍
I know the feeling of having two rides to choose from a Street Slide and a Road King. I really love riding the RK So if I have to put one away it would be the SG
Yea its always nice having options too
I had two wild crows that for years would tap my kitchen window every morning to get left overs then one year they just went away. My mother had a talking crow that was uncaged and just stayed by the house. I was a kid and thought all birds could talk.
I wonder why the crows left suddenly...
We all have mandatory insurance in the US, who told that we didn't? Great ride and enjoy!
I thought it was dependent on the state you lived in. I checked into it again and it not mandatory in Florida to have MC insurance... I'm not even sure where I heard that to begin with now.
This was last show I seen you on so have a great 10 months vacation see you in August
KFC is looking for you good bye for another year be safe love you friend
Your maples r just beautiful Redddd
They are!! 🍁
No mas.
I still have both bikes. I just kept the Dyna on the road a little further into the winter is all.
It's -16°C here and there's a lot of snow lying around. So bad that the darlings have to stay in the garage. So I can really sympathize when you complain and have to cancel the beautiful princess shovelhead.
Yea been a cold and snowy one here for the last 2 weeks too.
Detour was nice.
I'm still riding. My fatboy til end of October. Then I park it for the winter. Did all the oli changes.
Hi Can you do an another video of that shovel , if that’s a ratchet top that shifter linkage is interesting
Mine is a turban top tranny and the shifter linkage is custom made. I do have a couple walk around videos of the shovel where I talk about some of the parts and show things closer up.
Here's links to those vids in case you haven't seen them:

And I will eventually do another video about the shovelhead just haven't palnned that out yet. Thanks for watching!
Jeez, I thought that my approximate 100 mile range before reserve light was too little.. you must be stoping at lot for fuel when on a proper weekend road trip.
Sure am! I need a fuel bottle.
I use to think the hell with getting rear ended. Pass pass pass Idk. It’s a good idea until some stabs breaks on ( rice can go under) without me.
Keep the shovel I like your channel
Thanks 👍
There's something magical about a shovelhead (I have a 78 flh bobber) sometimes its good and sometimes a curse haha 😄.
I also have 91 springer softtail & a 92 electra glide ultra classic and if I could only keep one it's going to be the shovelhead.
I live in Virginia and I have lived in many other states also and everyone has required insurance.
Here in Virginia if you let your insurance laps the DMV is notified and they will suspend your driver's license.
Virginia is a beautiful state!
How could someone possibly not like you ❤
🤷♀️ 😆
Yep, getting to be freezing overnight now.
Congrats on 15k Angel
Thanks!
bloody Go Pro's lol... but there isnt any other camera that can do what they do when they work.....
doing the clutch on my 94 Softail today.. should be a easy job?? lol... bit close on the tail lol.. at least ya didnt hit it...
you need a Canadian Winter Down Under Red..... its getting nice here now.. cheers mate .. Knee's in Da Breeeeezzzzzeeeeee
Hey, angel.
What do you do when it's snowing? Do you ride at all? Richard
Depends on the roads.
My rides are getting slimmer n slimmer as fall starts
So lucky to live in oz
We can ride all year round
👍
yep Pumpkin Spice tomorrow. 👍
Yeah insurance prices suck and so do red lights. ✌️
