When the horde destroyed Gilneas, Night Elves offered refuge for Gilneas in their own home of Teldrassil, along with shared home, they also learned a ways of life from each other, which included Night Elven Druidism taught by Malfurion.
This peace and unity between the two races was then turned into vengeful fury, when the last Warchief of the Horde Sylvanas Windrunner burned Teldrassil to the ground, plunging Azeroth into another bloody conflict.
There's something missing here: The Druids that were imprisoned beneath the tree for all eternity also happened to be in Gilneas because the tree itself is located in Gilneas. That isn't mentioned here.
This video is actually very well done.
I had always wondered why you can play as a Druid but also play as a Worgen at the same time. I didn't think it really made much sense, but this video explained why.
Nice job! ^^
Some was left out here i think. I remember some quests about some of the night elf druids who were afflicted originally with the Worgen cure being in the area before the other night elves did what they did... A lot of the practices of the Gilneans I seem to remember came from things they found, and/or the spirits of the former night elf worgen who remained in the area.
Cool! I honestly don't play WOW, but lots of info!
The forsaken did not wish to sack Gilneas they wanted to annex it, big difference.
3:36 *...and Rohan will answer!*
So sayerh kishivr rohan
Technically Druid of the Pack's form was not Worgen, at least not yet. It was purely a wolf form and only after the Scythe of Elune did they truly become Worgens.
also if i'm not mistaken, the Nightelf Druids you mentioned of the Alliance are not Druids of the Scythe.
I've rolled as Druids in every form, and I loved them, but Worgen will always ALWAYS have one extra form to turn into that the other don't. I don't know why that feels good play but it does. Team Cat-Bear-Dog-Human!
To the Night Elf Druids... thank you Sensei.
The Gilnean Druids were also known as Harvest Witches. As for being underground, not so much. Genn knew of these witches, and they have saved his people from famine for all those years behind the wall. This Druidism makes up for the Gilneans lack in the Paladin Class since the wall was put up in the early years that when it was still in the baby stages.
Druidism and the old way were not widely accepted but was needed. Much like warlocks dark magic was used in defense for the city, the nature spells were a means to an end.
You make some very good points on why they lack paladins!
seibenlore Good point, but I would think the Warlocks would have been more underground than the druids were. I can understand if they disapprove the use of dark magic, but nature magic, was as you said, needed. I would think in general, magic was frowned upon in Gilneas, especially after what Argul did.
Jennifer Plank it sounds like the witches of Salem
Folks need the inspiration from somewhere.
great video
LOL at 3:31 the worgen shown looks like its part of the TMNT xD
Cool video
The video is well done, but I do want to question about why you did not mention the scythe of Elune when Blizzard had made that a key focal point in the revised lore, ret-coning most of the previous Silverpine worgen lore. And the alliance didn't come to help only the nightelves did because the scythe of Elune was in Gilneas. Also the Gilneans being openly accepted into the alliance, that's not exactly true, King Varian was against the Gilneans joining the alliance and denounce Gilneas as an ally. Only until after Genn Greymane and Varian befriended each other and Greymane helped Varian were they allowed into the alliance. there are some other overlooked and somewhat inaccurate facts but I still think it was well done.
Even with what I have said, I did enjoy the video very much. I do look forward to seeing more.
Yes there were some deeper things I left out but that was by design, I wanted to keep the focus on Druid worgens as much as possible so that I could do a full lore video on worgens in the future.
I read the wolf heart novel and loved it a lot and that's where I learned a lot if this information especially about the scythe and recanting of old worgen lore.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the points you made and I assure you more in depth info will be coming in a future video :)
Alright, I figured you were just glancing over it (especially since you basically said you were). I look forward to the future videos.
Cool video, didn't know worgens originated from NEs.
Nice lore and the Worgen Druid 🐺seem to be common in Stormwind and Goldshire because their racial passive ability gives them more damage than a Night Elf Druid which uses Stealth shadowmeld as it's racial ability and Coming from a level 15 Alliance Night Elf Druid player. Perhaps try doing a player vs player Night Elf Druid vs Worgen Druid since that's where you can find out to why players end up running Worgen 🐺 for high damage per second
For Gilneas!
I want the alpha worgen model it looks cool!
The other races this class fits them like a glove but undead I don't know
That's I understand most of the other races that are moves but undead confuses me can you answer it
Is this lore original or did they put it in for Cata?
Wait, if the Worgen couldn't be raised as undead, what explains how worgen death Knights came to be?
TheGojoseon They used worgens as troops in a war event(forgot what place it took) but many worgens who fell in battle could of easily been risen back by the lich king himself. Any other form would probably have a resistance to their curse. so worgen Dk's are the lich kings personal minions xD
That seems too convenient--that the explanation is simply that only the Lich King could raise undeath-resistant worgen from the dead. And when you say "they" used worgen as troops, who are you referring to? Iirc, only Arugsl tried to use the worgen, and he wasn't aligned with the lich King back then I think.
The real reason worgen DKs exist is probably because Blizzard wanted to allow people to play the cool-looking worgen death knight, even if it kinda goes against their lore (if we follow their lore as represented in this video).
TheGojo^ my memory is fairly short man! I've had those same questions and figured blizzard just added it (they partially did) but in some side of youtube a youtuber explained it well. I remember him saying how the worgens were used to fight off the scourge. Safe to say the dk worgens arent the gileans citizen. ._. and how its a possibility that the lich king could of risen some. but this is a speculation and obviously blizzards true intention was just to add it as a option ;p
al try to find the source man! ^ ;p my comments are sounding very shady xD haha
TheGojoseon in Northrends there's a group of worgens who went to worship the cult of the dead and became Lich King's minions, besides, the Banshee Queen managed a way to rise deads, which the Lich King does naturaly with the scourge: it is not impossible to raise a dead worgen, it's just dificult and I know there is a way they explain even in game on how they do it
What about some lore about Worgen and Goblin Death Knights?
Martijn Mandemakers worgen death knights, were the worgen that had broken free, and escaped Arugal, and were later killed by the scourge. These worgen had been raised up from death by the lich king himself to serve as his minions. Goblins....well nothing really unique about them. They were dead, like all DK' s used to be, and were raised to become soldiers of the scourge.
5:10 Wait for Kul Tiran Human Druids/Thornspeakers
seiben your a little off the gilneas would not know of the night elves because they walled themselves off in the second war aka warcraft 2 and we meet the night elves in warcraft 3
I know this might be a bit obvious but the fact that the worgan Druids could not transform before bieng cured is false, they can learn and transform into the cat form before they get turned into worgans. I have recently played a worgan Druid and while this video was well made, it skipped over that.
Gilneas decided for the Gilnexit
i would gladly give up being able to worgen druid if we could worgen monk sins worgen cant fight with there claws or fist weapons but can transform in to animals that can....
Monks
How can the undead be monks
I imagine their free will gives them their spiritual energy back (Chi) and learn to harness it. It doesn't make any sense at all in gameplay when you roll an undead and just come out of the ground a monk. It would be cool if non Pandaren monks had their own starting area where they perform tasks to achieve their "black belt" and are free to return to their respected factions.
***** also explains wy Worgen and Goblin cant be Monk: Worgen = quick to anger, Goblin = not verry patient.
Martijn Mandemakers These is some good stuff here! :)
Cheyenne Hull there bones well break DUHHHHHHHHHH
I know this comment was a long time ago, but I had a thought. Scarlet Monastery was home to human monks. It is possible that they died and retained their abilities in the 'afterlife'. Others seem to argue that there is somewhat of a peace and stillness that comes with death, that could be achieved by an undead person. That's the perfect condition for monk training.
Why can't the worgen be monks?
ace pilot gaming Thanks for the reply, but I figured that out months ago haha. Usually they could've made em like the dks but now when I think about I don't think I have the willpower to level another character haha
Type of
I have no problem with worgen druids, but my druid will continue to be a night elf.
Lol they are the og's.
do you mind if i use this video for my sub : www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWorgencraft/ ? and if you have more vids on worgen feel free to guid eme to it , thank you.
