Wow, great job. I ordered a My Scene doll and when I received her, I noticed that her hair was super soft, better than I'd ever seen before. I wrote to the Etsy shop owner and was told that she used Downey softener and let it set in overnight. Your work with the box was wonderful. I didn't think there was a way to restore them.
Thank you for explaining which tools you use for each stage in the process. It makes the video so much more interesting than some other doll restoration videos. And like SparklyPig said, I was especially impressed by your methods for restoring the box. Just... WOW.
I absolutely love how you restored the box, and watching it slowly come together was just so satisfying. Please please PLEASE restore more boxes/packaging. That was so relaxing to watch ❤
Hi!! I loveeeeeee your redos!! I found a 1987 Midge doll, I cleaned her up last night!! I used Downy fabric softener after washing, on the hair!! It worked great!!! Can't wait to get home and finish her up!!! Luckily her face paint was perfect!! Thank you for working your magic on dolls and sharing!!!✌🏽♥️
Thank you so much! It does take a looot of practice, the trick is to use very short strokes, working your way up from the tail. (Also diluting your color a lot so it's barely visible helps tremendously in getting started in terms of settling on a general shape when you have no guidelines) Thank you for your continued support btw, really appreciate it ❤️
I just found your channel - I love to restore barbies. I still have mine from 60's - 70's. I need an American girl body - I have searched for years but never found one.
I have watched a lot of doll restoration and customization video's over the last few years, but yours is the only channel that I have subscribed to. The information you give is both informative and helpful and makes me think that some day I may decide to dig out that plastic tub of barbie's I have and see what I can do with them.
Another really satisfying video, as well as a superb restoration. Watching you do that really fine painting (fingernails etc), I think of how I'd end up gettong to nail number 9, and then having a moment, and end up with a big streak of paint all across her arm....I dont know how many times I've done something like that..!
Wow, I am very impressed with your color matching skills! Your touchup work on the boxes is excellent. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Like you said it just needs that your eye doesn’t go to the damage at first glance. Great job!
@@DoeDeerWonderland lol yes I do and I would guess since you know who he is you do too? Your channel always brings a smile to my face and my heart. Thank you for your beautiful and loving restoration of these dolls. I’ve had five spinal surgeries in the last three years, so I get to watch a lot of TH-cam. I love your channel. It’s one of my favorites. I never got to play with dolls when I was a kid because they were expensive and and we couldn’t really afford them.
Gorgeous, lovely work! I tried the denture tablet thing on a doll I'm working on and it worked like a charm! And then within two days immediately the limbs became red again lol
That is very odd. Might be a deeper issue which cannot be solved with denture tablets. You should try benzoyl peroxide and sunlight or 40 vol hair developer if there are stains which will not leave. Let me know how it goes!
Wow amazing love the box restoration Barbie looks beautiful I had a number two with bad smoke damage tried your denture tablet hack and wowzers she came out amazing thanks for the awesome videos now I’m going to try to fix her box lol
Hi there. Wow, she’s gorgeous! I’ve just won an American Girl on EBay but she has a little vinyl nip above her lip, so it’s very noticeable. I’d like to know long you keep her under the curing light each time you use the soft resin/acrylic mix please. Thank you. 😊
@@DoeDeerWonderland Thank you. That’s really helpful. I shall order a curing light from Amazon, they are pretty cheap and I’ve just heard my A Girl will be with me on Wed. Can’t wait. Thank you again. 😁
Love your work. It's very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your experiences and being generous with that. By the way, I've tried to restyle a Farrah Mego doll, and when I put hot water on hair (almost boliling), the hair retracted and shrinked :( Will need a replace. My mistake not to test in a little peace of hair the effects of the boling water
I come from the early days of "reborn" dolls so I have nightmares about product migrating or changing color with age. Can you tell me if you've been using clear varnish as a sealer long enough to know if it's going to stay clear? I'd hate to have my dolls turn yellow or worse, orange, in 10 years time.
@@DoeDeerWonderland Do you have a preferred UV protection varnish that from your experience has not yellowed? Looking into buying some, so I thought I should ask
I've never seen anyone restore the box before, awesome! Great outcomes on both!
Thank you very much ☺️
And using rolling papers! That's a genius idea.
Amazing job on the box!! As well on the doll of course, but it is a great way to return back in time 🙌

@@DoeDeerWonderland about the Doris Day thing... It looks like a drawing of her from a TV show or record album from the very long time ago.

Thank you! Yeah, often those dolls will have very cheap fibers that don't react well to hot temperatures... But hey, it's a lesson learned right?
@@DoeDeerWonderland Yes, it's about learning. Fortunately didn't happen with a Wonder Woman Mego.Thank you for your answer :)
Do you know how to fix cracks in the cases? I HATE when they crack. The corners crac, and there must be a way to fix them.
I would think some sort of filler material could help in those cases (?)
Any recommendations on how to fix an indented Barbie head?
Hot water should fix any small holes :)
