    Thank you Yoni, being a massage therapist I concur that massage gives temporary relief, and the imbalance must be corrected. For myself due to the massage therapy I benefit from these stretches to balance out my overworked chest from all the push work I do. I have the active traction head thingie and feel a distinct correction in my posture when I use it. Consistency is what works.

    I've tried a stretch similar to this for forward head posture but did not have my hands in the position that you show in this video. I've tried it with the hand position shown here and it makes a difference. Also, it seems to stretch the forearm muscles associated with Golfer's elbow. Thanks -subscribing!

    How do we un-knot the teres muscles (major and minor) and the spinatus muscles (intra,supra, etc)and romboïds and multifidus ❤

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว

      When the teres major/minor and supraspinatus spasm it's typically the body's attempt to stabilize a shoulder that has become decentrated (out of balance). The solution is to restore balance to the shoulder complex.

    Interesting you mention shoulder rounding etc, as I think I've noticed that with myself recently. Wondering if it's a lack of mobility from gym work. I admit I don't stretch as much as I should or do mobility work.

    You said to add to the comments any particular area we'd like you to make a video about. I am having severe pain problems in my scalene muscles of my neck. I do have a lot of degenerative changes and a problematic disc- but I suspect my problem is more my tending towards a head forward position. Can you specifically address what to do with scalene muscles that seem permanently fused into a tight contraction?? Thanks.

    Thankfully I discovered the Pain Fix Protocol after listening to you on the Art of Aging now It’s Personal earlier today. While I believe your program will benefit my 57yo husband and myself, I wonder if you have anything for our post concussive 17yo daughter with chronic migraines. Specifically, I wonder if you have any specific movements to strengthen her neck muscles in the event of another concussion. After 7 yrs of just about every concussion therapy and migraine treatment under under the sun, she is only now beginning to heal her brain and in turn experience fewer debilitating migraines. As I understand it through Pink Concussions, females, having weaker neck muscles, are more prone to concussions because of this. The ordeal has been life altering for her. Focusing so much on resolving pain, we are now in the position to focus on additional ways to prevent further concussions or at least to reduce the impact one may have while still living a normal, active life. Any recommendations you may offer are greatly appreciated.

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Rhonda! There's so much great information coming out these days on concussion treatment and recovery - and healing the brain. As far as prevention goes, having the proper curve in the neck and a strong support network of muscles while optimizing mobility would be a good starting point. But the BIGGEST part of prevention is activity modification. For example, one of main causes of concussion in young women is "heading" the ball in soccer. I suspect the game will be moving away from that practice in the near future.

    • @painfixprotocol

      For restoring the normal curve in the spine, there are not a lot of proven options. But a properly designed & executed strength training program is highly effective and it only costs the price of a gym membership. A bit off topic... what can someone with terminal bone cancer stage 4 do to keep legs and hand mobility and control headaches and pressure in skull and face from growing bone tumours in that region? And what suppliments can help too? I take 4 different types of Mushrooms(reishi, shitake, rooster tail and chaga) to build up my immune system to counter my all over body growing bone cancer...esp the spine,neck, lungs, pancreas, thyroid, skull, face, long bones, hands and feet...basically where ever bones grow and join together.., um.. i have osteosarcoma and it not treatable at all!. Thanks.
    Oops I'm 61 btw... take small walks when cancer is doable, and exercise my wrists and hands daily too playing video games on a dual joystick handheld....lol ya .I love my retro video gaming.☺️

  • @peacefulbliss1

    Thanks for your video and you mean well. My thoughts on this is, static stretching doesn't work. It does not provide or "build" any lasting results. Resistance stretching I have had success with. I'm not sure why PTs still teach static stretching. I also think a lot of times, people don't need "stretching", but actually need strength training instead. Your thoughts are appreciated.

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, Fighter91. You are absolutely right that often times tight muscles are created in response to muscle weakness and/or instability - this is especially the case in societies that are mostly sedentary. In those instances, stretching would very likely exacerbate the problem in the long-term (even though it feels good in the short-term). As far as static stretching is concerned, it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Here's a good article that talks about it: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21373870/
