- Frankie and Paul Taylor in their Larry Jeffer's Built Outlaw Pro Mod Corvette. This video features all of Frankie's record breaking passes from the Street Car Super Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis. Frankie actually set a new 1/4 mile ET World Record on the first hit off of the trailer and then traded the record back and forth with the Q80 Twin Turbo Camaro driven Turky Al Zafiri. The two cars met up in the finals where they laid down the Worlds Fastest side by side Pro Mod race of all time as both cars actually broke the World Record ET and MPH. The Turbo car leaves with the ET and MPH World Record but Frankie Taylor is still the quickest and fastest blown Pro Mod on the planet. Hats of to entire Taylor Family Racing Team.

It sucks when you see incredible machines with equally incredible drivers and amazing teams giving an event the very best they have ever done in their LIFE, with a world record being shattered.... and you look out into the grand stands and see 5 people? Come on people.... come out to these events and support this!

I don't understand that either. I went to the NHRA Maple Grove nationals on Oct 2nd and it was packed! I'd bet at least 20k to 30k people were there. Even when I used to go to little Cecil County dragway for grudge night, it was usually crowded. Both of those tracks are out in the sticks too!

With those Brad Anderson Enterprise heads sitting on top of that motor similar to those used in those nitro funny cars, no wonder that those low 5-second passes are possible!

Yeah this is such a great video, I don't think there's really anybody in promod that doesn't know of this final round! Speaking of, it was really really good to see Frankie out running his car at the Midwest promod Series race last weekend up in Tulsa, really enjoyed seeing him out racing! I know him and his brother help tune other promod but yeah, great to see him with his car out running a race :-) :-)

***** Why do you need to insult? Please, man, if you wanna talk about cars and mechanics I expect you to use your knowledge...I don't need to read anything about "how a turbo is better than a belt-driven compressor...blah blah top end, blah blah what if they...".
First of all, I will start saying that Turbos are more efficient, even if they have a parasitic loss, it's minimal. They're way easier to work with, and therefore, it's easier to make more power from a T car than SC one.
On the other hand, when talking about power, RAW power, a mechanical compressor SHOULD be able to make more power, torque and response...but why is that? Because the force of an engine will always be more powerful than the force the exhaust gases can make: that means that a SC has more power to use.
A Top Fuel turbo could be possible, but it will never be as powerful as a blown one: solid nitromethane and those incredible temps would melt the turbine like the butter you have in your refrigerator. Nowadays TF's are making 10000-12000 hp, there's no turbo engine, EVER, that could make/withstand those amounts of power. And, now I would like to ask you, why has anyone ever made a 4 second run in a turbo car? Nuff said.
Now, about this actual race, as you see they're both pretty equal, BUT, I would like to point out some things:
1)the winner (fairly won) has 2 turbos, the blown car has only one blower.
2)the blown car was making a 105% overdrive, the maximum permitted is 128% (I think).
3) the big intake doesn't help with aerodynamic efficiency.
4) the only way to find out which one is faster is by deleting all the restrictions and limiters...then we'll see who's the real winner.
Oh, just to finish, did you know that the BRM 1.5 liter supercharged engine was able to make 1000 hp, back in the 50's...just saying.

you know your pushin some beewwsstt when you have to wrap your blower in a Kevlar blanket.
It's a NHRA rule.
Have to wrap it in a blanket because Supercharger's like to backfire and explode when a 4,000hp engine is being peddled down the track. Meaning, constant on-and-off the gas to try and regain grip. That makes high-power engines with superchargers blow up. When the supercharger blows up, the entire blower can go flying and kill someone, or bits of shrapnel can go flying and kill someone. It's like having a hand grenade strapped too the top of your engine.

My favourite cars are promods wen you are at the track and the pro mods fire up every body runs to the stands to watch they remind me of the like funny cars in the 70 s ther absolutely my favourite car to watch at a track so come on folks and fill them grandstand it’s not like nascar you can get up close get autographs the drivers will talk to you it’s always been my favourite sport I’ve run a few cars down the track it’s a blast but it’s fun watching you can feel the cars in your body they are so powerful so get to your local track and support these guys so they can get paid for the best show on earth that’s my opinion once you go you will love it every body is friendly and you will have a lot of fun

Maximus gameplay I'm not %100 but I think they are only allowed to run methanol. They maybe able to run nitro if they don't use a supercharger.
Maximus gameplay He does NOT run nitro. It's illegal. And he was only running 105% overdrive on the blower from what I heard. Up to 128% overdrive is legal, so there is more left in it.
