Thank you. I heard it described as "The CSI" effect. People see a crime, watch the investigation unfold, the smoking gun, crime solved, all in 60 minutes. I also watched the Casey Anthony trial unfold and watching her be acquitted was absolutely devastating. The case is not cold and they are doing exactly what they should do by not releasing any information about the investigation. I have even seen people saying the police need to disclose people's alibis that they have cleared. They have not cleared anyone and releasing their alibi to the public would interfere with them possibly reviewing said alibis and finding issues if they are there. Same with Delphi. Everyone saying they don't have a good case. The PCA only needs to have just enough probable cause to get the arrest.
My son is a police officer and experienced a great deal of trauma when he and his partner entered a home where he found 2 people that were killed with a similar type of knife. He was 27 at the time. Both he and his partner required intense counseling and is now treating PTSD and depression. The young guys that entered the house after getting the 911 will most likely require the same. We must pray for all police and FBI, anyone that had to enter the house - even the students. God give them strength.
All the best to your son and his partner, and to everybody who come across this kind of thing l, be it in professional or private life. The roommates will need help, too. Lots of strength to everybody involved.

Heart goes out to the chief. Just imagine some of the trauma that this has caused. I’m a psychologist and I totally understand that he doing the best that he can. People have to stop putting pressure on the guy and start supporting the effort. When people show support it makes the process 10 times easier. This case is going to get solved with the help of others. He can’t do this alone. God bless

It’s a small town (in one of the most sparsely populated states in America) and when the first responders arrived they had no clue about the true magnitude of the situation they had on their hands. I’m not an officer nor a psychologist but idk, this just seems like common sense to me.

Is he "plastering his face all over"? I haven't seen this guy but once. Moscow, Idaho is probably one of the safest places in the US to live right now with all the heightened security and awareness in the community (and the likely newly installed cameras).
When I was in school for my criminal justice degree, we did this exercise where a random kid chosen by the teacher, walked into the classroom while everyone else was walking in and settling down, he spoke to the teacher for a couple mins and then left right before class started, after that the teacher went around the entire class and we each had to name one thing about the kid that we noticed, half of the class didn’t even notice the kid was there and couldn’t give an answer even though that kid stood right in front of them, some students only realized they saw him after the teacher mentioned him or after another student mentioned something he was wearing (the lightbulb moment), the lesson……that just goes to show you how reliable witness testimony really is and how easily it can change. Your mind is not equipped to remember every little detail, especially if it’s something you’re familiar with (students were familiar with kids standing in the classroom talking to teachers and this guy was familiar with hearing weird drunk guy screams coming from the house), so it didn’t stick in the mind because it’s a regular occurrence, nothing abnormal to make you play closer attention. It’s just human nature, everyone wants answers, and cops suck at their jobs, but don’t be the judge and jury for someone who could be completely innocent because human minds are completely unreliable, a lot of cops don’t take witness testimony seriously anymore unless they can back it up with other evidence
Omg! My psychology teacher at ASU did this, but she had a student run in and grab her purse off the desk and run out. She quickly explained the ruse, and everyone was shocked at how little any of us could recall.

Exactly. Especially if you know that there might be millions of people that might see it. And that you might be judged on your behavior. How many people get nervous speaking with a police officer at a traffic stop. These "professionals" think that they know everything. It's nothing more than their pride.

I keep seeing posts on Reddit from someone saying "Find the chef!" "It's the chef." I've seen numerous comments about a chef. I thought they meant a chef because of the knife but maybe it's about this guy... Strange. Very strange.
Worth a shot to see if there was any creepiness/contention. Idk how productive it would be though, since he could just be their dealer, or one of them. Could be all he's hiding. Def seems to be hiding something or have some kind of motive for changing his story etc. Every neighbor around there who isn't a partying student probably loathes that house and the residents. At this point there are so many potential motives toward multiple victims, and many of those suspects also have ample opportunity living nearby and/or knowing someone who does, along with any rando that partied there, things associated with the school/frats, the corner club, etc., not to mention being able to see right in the place on every level, there's really no telling without more concrete information being released. Too many rabbit holes to go down and rumors and things to speculate on with the limited info currently released. I do think the drama/rumors/local knowledge/frats are going to play a role. I don't think for a second it's a random stranger who has never been in that house. They know them on some level and had a lot of hate and rage for them personally and/or what they represent. Probably fairly well with multiple targets in one group of people who were all super close. Plus, interior locks wouldn't have stopped someone with that much hatred, violence, and rage, so I think it's something specifically to do with those 4 that were the closest. Whether the others could have identified the killer bc of something that happened or inside info, or there was just hatred toward all 4 (or at the very least, one on each level) for whatever reason.
The neighbor gave me the creeps. The first time I saw one of his interviews I thought he should be a possible suspect. During the interview I saw he said that he had wondered through the house during a party. He was also talking about that "new" SUV that was at the house that usually wasnt there. It made me wonder how closely he had been watching that house.

Media and press will ruin investigations, prolong them, and complain that law enforcement isn’t doing a good job in their efforts to find the killer. It’s crazy. They always release detrimental evidence to an investigation that prolongs a case and sets its back. The night stalker case was a perfect example.

This is why the killer is not caught. Because every time someone comes forward to say something you guys and the media says they are the killer. So imagine how many people may know something important and don’t come forward. I know I wouldn’t. Being weird does not make you a murder.
The mob mentality is terrifying. It's all based in emotion rather than reason or fact. Thankfully, investigators, not the mob, will be examining the evidence and building a case. If the mob was running the case, every Tom and Harry would be rounded up and thrown in the fire for just being a neighbor, getting a hotdog at a truck at night, or walking their dog past the house.
i think it was that guy that fled to africa that did it. out of rage. did you see his ig pictures of him gutting animals like nothing? he for sure has no conscious. he had the same type of knife used to murder them and he did not want to get his finger prints checked by the police. He for sure fled for a reason. maybe he has not gotten caught because he used gloves and they need more evidence to be able to say it was him. his parents have money too. They must be related to some powerful ppl but soon they will catch him. They always get caught. specially now a days with all the cameras and tech.

Agree the Chief does not deserve the constant criticism and judgement. He's working on a huge murder scene that would challenge the most experienced police department in any major city in the world. The FBI is working arm in arm with local and state police for crap sake.

This case is so shocking and scary. The murder of these students is so very sad, especially this time of year. The whole world is grieving their loss, and scared of the unknown perp. I support all of LE efforts, pray for all of the people this has shattered, and pray this person is caught. People are scared and angry. They want this solved RIGHT NOW so as to bring comfort to us all. But the solution is going to take time, and I believe they are doing the best they possibly can. I can't imagine being the first responders who walked in and found them all. 💔🙏

No doubt I'm sure folks are in shock this is very brutal crime... I do believe it's a good idea to bring outside law enforcement for a fresh look and let them stand back a bit regroup. People are so relentless with them this armchair law enforcement lawyers judges we can make it difficult sometimes.

Very refreshing. I personally respect the fact that they're keeping things close to the chest. I do wish the father would keep the details, if he knows them, to himself. For the good of the prosecution to come. And I hope that the person or persons in charge will consider using something like a crime stoppers reward. It is anonymous. There are many reasons a person may choose not to come forward. Especially if they're afraid and have limited resources.
As someone who’s followed this case, and watched many videos from this channel, im really disappointed with this video how they are speaking about this witness, and calling him a suspect. It’s not their job to accuse/analyse a potential or not potential suspect. News should be impartial when it comes to potential suspects or witnesses. This is perpetrating the dangerous attitude and cycle of some internet sleuths. Let the trained investigators make the statements please !

Again, Israel Keyes only got caught because of a piece of luck, either the police solve the crime really quickly or it will drag on for years...maybe never getting solved. This case reminds me of the family from Japan who were killed in a similar way, and this was never solved!!!...look up the Setagaya case. That man is still out there!
I would think it is more suspicious if the driver of the car isn't coming forward than it is for a neighbor to do an interview like that, but who knows.
The True Crime community should step back and look at themselves as sources of misinformation. The chief made the point that many of the tips they get and have to follow up on relate to rumors not facts.

I have an issue that she is throwing that guy under the bus for doing an interview with her. If you look through youtube, there are other neighbors being called suspects for looking creepy during an interview. I doubt anyone would want to do an interview with her now after that last guy. This is the dangerous speculation that police are warning about.
Today we know some of what the investigators know. (What has been safe to release to the public.).. I'm appalled at the number of professionals who were bad-mouthing the investigation and investigators! Every one of these people owes this Sheriff and his Deputies, the Idaho State Police investigators, and the FBI investigators a huge public apology! They should be ashamed of themselves and the way they conducted themselves!

I disagree with his assessment of him using “Like” as a filler word and trying to buy time. You’d first have to know his baseline to see if it’s a word used in normal conversation and answering basic questions then when talking to him about this stuff you’d be able to tell if using “like” is out of the norm or if it’s usage is higher than in normal conversation but I think “like” has became part of the human lexicon, it’s used repeatedly in text and conversation, it’s just a different time than when he was a detective so without a baseline to compare with, i wouldn’t put a lot of stock in that.

That became evident during the Kiely Rodni incident. True crime channels turned that case into a circus. Blaming those young people and out and out calling them murderers was horrible. I kept thinking that one of those kids were going to read some of the horrible things people were saying about them and possibly hurting themselves. If that had happened, those true crime channels would have been to blame.

If the crime scene was as messy as they said it was, then the true crime community needs to be extremely patient. How much evidence can be collected, analyzed, and processed in 4 weeks? Probably more than we can imagine. Patience and clarity will eventually evolve into strength and sound evidence

I got a feeling that when this case is solved the perpetrator is going to be so close to the location of the crime that it is going to blow the whole nation away hes so close he can't be seen I think whoever is responsible for terrible crime can see or hear the good times these young beautiful people were having from a short distance away,my heart goes out to the families of the victims, I can't even begin to comprehend how you must feel

Ian Huntley was a school caretaker who murdered two young girls in Soham UK. He was interviewed on tv a few times as he’d said that he’d said hi to them when they were out walking. He thought he was getting away with it but obviously didn’t realise that law enforcement are trained to spot deception.

Been thinking this from day one when I saw a picture of how close the apartments are. Would think cops would of checked all these people but doesn't seem like they see this as a possibility. Personally I think way too much is being said on social media by the police and other sources that shouldn't be talked about. Obviously the suspect is probably watching / listening to you all talk about different theories while giving him more of a chances to avoid capture. This case has impacted so many people’s lives. I hope that the local, state, and federal investigators working on this case are able to bring justice for Xana, Ethan, Maddie, and Kaylee. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families, loved ones, the entire Moscow, ID community.
Does this state require unanimous vote for death penalty? I dont wanna see another a-hole juror ruin the justice system, by putting their personal beliefs ABOVE the victims. Those jurors disgust me as much as the criminals they protect.
If they consider him at all to be a suspect in such a messy, gory crime it would be easy to clear or confirm. What do the surviving roommates think about this guy? Was he creepy? Was he a psycho? Any bad blood between them? Does he own a K-bar knife? But the fact that he is interested in the case and may have heard a scream does not make him a suspect in any way.
So you don’t think it’s suspicious that he just changed his story. It’s definitely a red flag and of course he’s a suspect. Anyone who injects themselves into an investigation is a huge red flag

He was in the neighborhood, and they’ve canvassed the neighborhood. No one can account for why that Elantra was there. No one can figure out who hosted the person driving that Elantra. More people have tipped that a strange Elantra was in the area. It’s the frequency of the Elantra tip that raises flags, and no one on king rd knows why that Elantra was there. They just need to know why they were there.
Find it hard to believe he heard anything the roommates that were in the same house said they didn’t hear anything unless he was the one who did the crime?
This case won't be easy to solve because Moscow is a college town and has many ppl in and out all the time. So it's not just residents. I hope it's solved soon! Who ever did it had some personal hate for the victims because of the way he killed them. A knife is very personal and a very physical way to kill someone.

What I need to know is how the reporter doesn’t know how or why it takes time to do a proper investigation and she doesn’t know LE can’t tell the public too much or tell the reporter that will tell the public information and screw up the case! @Tara Mcgavan LE screwing up isn’t a new thing. Reporters knowing how it all works should be reporting 101 and they are the reason LE can’t tell them anything or they spill anything and everything so the killer knows what’s going on. It’s been done so many times.
I’m not trying to take anyones side and I certainly want this case solved and the person(s) responsible caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, however we can’t forget a person is innocent until proven guilty, and that dude despite his appearing to be weird, strange, awkward, and freely interjecting himself into the investigation. Therefore, he shouldn’t be harassed, physically accosted, or deemed guilty by anyone or very importantly he shouldn’t be paid to do interviews, and if he becomes a person of interest or a suspect we haft to let police do their work and the case heard in a court of law. We must realize that falsely accusing someone of this horrific crime could easily destroy their life even if he’s totally innocent so we need to tread lightly and leave the investigative work to the detectives and other professionals working the case who I’m sure are doing everything possible to solve this case weather it involves this individual or not. I think it’s okay to speculate without directly accusing someone, and most importantly I didn’t like all of the possible subjects of interest being cleared so quickly without physically checking deeper into their alibi’s especially knowing they are key individuals who were in some or all of the victims circle as it’s important to determine if any of them has anything to be angry about, etc.
Do us folks with less than 20/20 vision a favor and throw a few line breaks and paragraph spaces into your writing, please. It makes reading much easier.

It was mentioned during this program that the neighbor was incarcerated previously. If he was, and it was a nonviolent offense, then that is very different than what was implied. I would sue if I was falsely accused. After all, he has finished his sentence, is working and hasn’t done anything more than come forward with some information he feels could be helpful.
It’s a disgustingly different world where there’s such a spotlight on these cases now a days. I pray for the families that have to deal with this spotlight and all that comes with, …let alone the grieving and pain. I pray they catch the killer(s) asap.
I respectfully disagree. As it seems most families WANT such cases kept in the 'spotlight' and not forgotten until they get answers and at least some resolve. I see your point but the spotlight is actually good for the families who want this solved. So many murdered people don’t get any media attention or have relatives to fight for more media attention. The attention leads to big investments to solve the case.
Could you imagine living nearby? Would it traumatize anyone of us? Even worse knowing these people in person not on just watching online. I’ve lived here for almost 10 years only know three of my neighbors names.
I recommend getting to know more of your neighbors. It helps to prevent crimes in a neighborhood when you have more associations on the street in which you live.

He came forward and said he might have heard a scream and that he just related it to what he hears coming from that neighborhood all the time period it's the TH-cam verse and the online so called detectives that have attacked him now the man has put himself out there to be accused of being the killer and everything else. Thank you. I heard it described as "The CSI" effect. People see a crime, watch the investigation unfold, the smoking gun, crime solved, all in 60 minutes. I also watched the Casey Anthony trial unfold and watching her be acquitted was absolutely devastating. The case is not cold and they are doing exactly what they should do by not releasing any information about the investigation. I have even seen people saying the police need to disclose people's alibis that they have cleared. They have not cleared anyone and releasing their alibi to the public would interfere with them possibly reviewing said alibis and finding issues if they are there. Same with Delphi. Everyone saying they don't have a good case. The PCA only needs to have just enough probable cause to get the arrest.
My son is a police officer and experienced a great deal of trauma when he and his partner entered a home where he found 2 people that were killed with a similar type of knife. He was 27 at the time. Both he and his partner required intense counseling and is now treating PTSD and depression. The young guys that entered the house after getting the 911 will most likely require the same. We must pray for all police and FBI, anyone that had to enter the house - even the students. God give them strength.

People have to stop putting pressure on the guy and start supporting the effort. When people show support it makes the process 10 times easier. Is he "plastering his face all over"? I haven't seen this guy but once. Moscow, Idaho is probably one of the safest places in the US to live right now with all the heightened security and awareness in the community (and the likely newly installed cameras).
When I was in school for my criminal justice degree, we did this exercise where a random kid chosen by the teacher, walked into the classroom while everyone else was walking in and settling down, he spoke to the teacher for a couple mins and then left right before class started, after that the teacher went around the entire class and we each had to name one thing about the kid that we noticed, half of the class didn’t even notice the kid was there and couldn’t give an answer even though that kid stood right in front of them, some students only realized they saw him after the teacher mentioned him or after another student mentioned something he was wearing (the lightbulb moment), the lesson……that just goes to show you how reliable witness testimony really is and how easily it can change. Your mind is not equipped to remember every little detail, especially if it’s something you’re familiar with (students were familiar with kids standing in the classroom talking to teachers and this guy was familiar with hearing weird drunk guy screams coming from the house), so it didn’t stick in the mind because it’s a regular occurrence, nothing abnormal to make you play closer attention. It’s just human nature, everyone wants answers, and cops suck at their jobs, but don’t be the judge and jury for someone who could be completely innocent because human minds are completely unreliable, a lot of cops don’t take witness testimony seriously anymore unless they can back it up with other evidence
Omg! My psychology teacher at ASU did this, but she had a student run in and grab her purse off the desk and run out. She quickly explained the ruse, and everyone was shocked at how little any of us could recall.

Every neighbor around there who isn't a partying student probably loathes that house and the residents. At this point there are so many potential motives toward multiple victims, and many of those suspects also have ample opportunity living nearby and/or knowing someone who does, along with any rando that partied there, things associated with the school/frats, the corner club, etc., not to mention being able to see right in the place on every level, there's really no telling without more concrete information being released.
Too many rabbit holes to go down and rumors and things to speculate on with the limited info currently released. I do think the drama/rumors/local knowledge/frats are going to play a role. I don't think for a second it's a random stranger who has never been in that house. They know them on some level and had a lot of hate and rage for them personally and/or what they represent. Probably fairly well with multiple targets in one group of people who were all super close. Plus, interior locks wouldn't have stopped someone with that much hatred, violence, and rage, so I think it's something specifically to do with those 4 that were the closest. Whether the others could have identified the killer bc of something that happened or inside info, or there was just hatred toward all 4 (or at the very least, one on each level) for whatever reason.

During the interview I saw he said that he had wondered through the house during a party. He was also talking about that "new" SUV that was at the house that usually wasnt there. This case is so shocking and scary. The murder of these students is so very sad, especially this time of year. The whole world is grieving their loss, and scared of the unknown perp. I support all of LE efforts, pray for all of the people this has shattered, and pray this person is caught. People are scared and angry. They want this solved RIGHT NOW so as to bring comfort to us all. But the solution is going to take time, and I believe they are doing the best they possibly can. I can't imagine being the first responders who walked in and found them all. 💔🙏

Very refreshing. I personally respect the fact that they're keeping things close to the chest. I do wish the father would keep the details, if he knows them, to himself. It’s not their job to accuse/analyse a potential or not potential suspect. News should be impartial when it comes to potential suspects or witnesses. This is perpetrating the dangerous attitude and cycle of some internet sleuths. Let the trained investigators make the statements please !

Again, Israel Keyes only got caught because of a piece of luck, either the police solve the crime really quickly or it will drag on for years...maybe never getting solved. This case reminds me of the family from Japan who were killed in a similar way, and this was never solved!!!...look up the Setagaya case. That man is still out there!

I would think it is more suspicious if the driver of the car isn't coming forward than it is for a neighbor to do an interview like that, but who knows.
The True Crime community should step back and look at themselves as sources of misinformation. The chief made the point that many of the tips they get and have to follow up on relate to rumors not facts.

If you look through youtube, there are other neighbors being called suspects for looking creepy during an interview. I doubt anyone would want to do an interview with her now after that last guy. This is the dangerous speculation that police are warning about.

Today we know some of what the investigators know. (What has been safe to release to the public.).. I'm appalled at the number of professionals who were bad-mouthing the investigation and investigators! Every one of these people owes this Sheriff and his Deputies, the Idaho State Police investigators, and the FBI investigators a huge public apology!

I disagree with his assessment of him using “Like” as a filler word and trying to buy time. You’d first have to know his baseline to see if it’s a word used in normal conversation and answering basic questions then when talking to him about this stuff you’d be able to tell if using “like” is out of the norm or if it’s usage is higher than in normal conversation but I think “like” has became part of the human lexicon, it’s used repeatedly in text and conversation, it’s just a different time than when he was a detective so without a baseline to compare with, i wouldn’t put a lot of stock in that.
I watch Judge Judy and she has to chastise someone for saying "like" in almost every episode.

That became evident during the Kiely Rodni incident. True crime channels turned that case into a circus. Blaming those young people and out and out calling them murderers was horrible. I kept thinking that one of those kids were going to read some of the horrible things people were saying about them and possibly hurting themselves. If that had happened, those true crime channels would have been to blame.

He was interviewed on tv a few times as he’d said that he’d said hi to them when they were out walking. He thought he was getting away with it but obviously didn’t realise that law enforcement are trained to spot deception.

If they consider him at all to be a suspect in such a messy, gory crime it would be easy to clear or confirm. What do the surviving roommates think about this guy? Was he creepy? Was he a psycho? Any bad blood between them? Does he own a K-bar knife? But the fact that he is interested in the case and may have heard a scream does not make him a suspect in any way.

This case won't be easy to solve because Moscow is a college town and has many ppl in and out all the time. So it's not just residents. I hope it's solved soon! Who ever did it had some personal hate for the victims because of the way he killed them. A knife is very personal and a very physical way to kill someone.

@Tara Mcgavan LE screwing up isn’t a new thing. Reporters knowing how it all works should be reporting 101 and they are the reason LE can’t tell them anything or they spill anything and everything so the killer knows what’s going on. It’s been done so many times.
I’m not trying to take anyones side and I certainly want this case solved and the person(s) responsible caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, however we can’t forget a person is innocent until proven guilty, and that dude despite his appearing to be weird, strange, awkward, and freely interjecting himself into the investigation.
Therefore, he shouldn’t be harassed, physically accosted, or deemed guilty by anyone or very importantly he shouldn’t be paid to do interviews, and if he becomes a person of interest or a suspect we haft to let police do their work and the case heard in a court of law. We must realize that falsely accusing someone of this horrific crime could easily destroy their life even if he’s totally innocent so we need to tread lightly and leave the investigative work to the detectives and other professionals working the case who I’m sure are doing everything possible to solve this case weather it involves this individual or not.
I think it’s okay to speculate without directly accusing someone, and most importantly I didn’t like all of the possible subjects of interest being cleared so quickly without physically checking deeper into their alibi’s especially knowing they are key individuals who were in some or all of the victims circle as it’s important to determine if any of them has anything to be angry about, etc.

It was mentioned during this program that the neighbor was incarcerated previously. If he was, and it was a nonviolent offense, then that is very different than what was implied. I would sue if I was falsely accused. After all, he has finished his sentence, is working and hasn’t done anything more than come forward with some information he feels could be helpful.

Wouldn’t you of thought the police should of had that video footage first and recovered all videos from the area, makes one wonder how much they actually looking for CCTV.
