I have had an LDV T60 Trail Rider for the past 2.5 years and had similar issues with the towbar fitment, but dealer here in Aus got it sorted, it was an incorrect fitment issue. Also the Apple Car Play /Andriod is useless so I just don't use it, blue tooth works the best, i'm not a hugh music guy, just listen to the radio. I bought it as I had a budget and it was great value for money, I could buy new with 5yrs warranty v's used with wear and tear and no warranty. It looks great and has a really deep tub with lockable cover for my work needs which counted out the Mitsubshi.
I need to change my ute to a wagon for 3 x tall long legged tweenage kids and a dog for family vacations towing my new bigger boat or recently built camper trailer. We have been using my wife's Skoda Kodiak for the long interestate famly trips which is an awesome vehicle but only has an 80KG down ball weight so now won't tow either of these safely.
Thank you for this review it has been very handy, especially since I have been trying to find a brand that does the wheel stud pattern. I have had a decent experience with my T60 so am happy to buy a D90 for the next vehicle.
For comparisons - I have been waiting for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L 7 seat to come out this year. It has almost exactly the same 3 row passenger space but with 200mm extra length giving more luggage space behind the 3rd row. Three main issues though - the model I want isn't coming anytime soon if at all in the 7 seater, the hybrid 4xe Trail Rider. There's no diesel engine and i'm not particualrly a fan of the 3.6 Pentastar petrol, it just uninspiring not a deal breaker. Plus a model like the 'Limited' with featurres like this D90 will be easily $75K. Same with a Ford Everset Sport $74K and not as much passenger space & same 2.0 TDI engine output.

Sounds like you're doing your homework on what is going to suit your family needs while gaining more confidence in a brand that is really starting to establish itself in Australia and NZ. Had our D90 for 11 months and have had all the issues in the video addressed, we are loving owning it, no issue recommending one based on our experience.

I had the same issue with the trailer plug, it turned out that some of the wiring were incorrectly installed and so once taken back to the dealership it was corrected, also apart from the blind spot light staying on, it also disconnected the rear powered tailgate. If your still having problems get your dealership to call Waikato Ssangyoung LDV(Hamilton), Matty the service manager should be able to help.

Also your information on the windscreen sensor may shed light on an issue to do with my cruise control cutting out now and then, I'm going to use that part of the video with the service team as they recently completed a full diagnostic and sent the info to SIAC in China. I'm now hopeful my cruise issue may be resolved by recalibration of that sensor.
I have the exact same model as you so fingers crossed. 👍

How are your impressions - mostly positive still? anything went particularly wrong with the car in the meantime? How is the connectivity for devices - apple car play and android auto? How is plastic quality and any other elements within the car - levers, latches, did anything break or come off? Sorry for barrage of questions, really appreciate any insights you could offer :)

    • @RadRoadAdventures
      @RadRoadAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I have the EVC723 and it makes a difference but there is still some lag. I don't understand why these modern vehicles need such a device but I have noticed the D90 is more responsive when coming off "auto hold" (auto handbrake) so maybe it's technology causing it because it's not turbo lag etc.

Not finding it to lack quality as much as you may think, it's no hilux so I'm not about to go thrash it around offf road. Nothing else that's a true 7 seater represents such value as this does.

@@RadRoadAdventures I have a n80 hilux and I think it's overrated. The auto transmission is sluggish compared to a ZF transmission and the 2.8 motor is noisy and lacks power and torque

Hello again mate - couple more questions about your D90 if I may (new wave of SUV model research here...):
1 - Does it have a DCT transmission, or just a normal torque converter one, do you know?
2 - I've read up on some (apparently horrible) automatic cruise control thing that misreads the signs and "slams on the brakes", etc - and apparently can't be turned off... Have you experienced anything like that in your 1 year of ownership? Original comment from complaining person here - www.productreview.com.au/questions/453ea2e8-dcb0-4560-b3f5-de18a7da7634
    Thanks a lot!

      No worries.
ZF 8 speed has a torque converter.
All parameters around cruise can be tweeked and if anyone experiences this sort of issue recalibration and an update can fix this. My cruise works very well.
