    It’s well past the time to cut ties with the FIA. The FIA needs Formula 1, where as Formula 1 does not need the FIA !

      They legally can't and still race in Europe. They're mandated to have a governing body separate from the F1 sport.
      They'd have to find a new governing body first, which would be tough.
      Might be worth putting out there, though thst they're open to applications to govern F1.
      Scare the FIA into taking action.

    Its time to say goodbye to FIA, Formula one cannot accpet this.. There has to be some clauses in their contract that could be explored to make cases against FIA and the harm they are doing to sport etc etc etc...

      Although I think the FIA has its issues, I think the bigger issue here is MBS. I think he is the problem behind all of this get rid of him. The FIA can restore back to what it was and then we could fix the problem through there, but with MBS being inposition, this is never going to get fixed and they are going to completely ruin Formula One in the process

    I refuse to pay the subscription fee F1TV anymore. It has become too political, too much silliness. And now this! I'm NOT surprised. I'm sick of this. He's ruining the sport that I love and have followed since 1991. I'm done with F1.

      I've been watching since 84 Senna days stopped after he lost his life so tragically then started again in 2007 to watch Sir Lewis Hamilton .. it had its ups n downstairs but this is pure draconian and corruption to high heaven. F1 should break away from fia n say good riddance

      Yea, I have bought year subscription for many years. Commentators are hateful and biased as heck. So I will cancel after this season.. FIA lets Lando jump-start, and some get punished for political reasons. No standards concerning rules. It is all a twisted joke!!

    Same way Qatar paid off voting FIFA members for the World Cup and the corruption involved, we see again in F1. I've said this for decades, "The FIA needs F1 a hell of alot more than F1 needs the FIA". F1 was governing itself long before FIA got involved with F1 in the late 1940's, early 1950's.

    How come no one thinks about what mbs said about women a couple of years ago, and now see what happened to Janet Tan? There's so much more than just firing people, and I believe that the people who are leaving know it's bigger than work performance. He's never given a reason for the firing that normally would come out if it was the performance of these people that was the reason for the firing. You just have to look into his previous statements. It's so much more to this!!!

    I know this sounds a bit racist, but I don’t trust anyone other than Europeans to manage the FIA, and think further, that it should be a
    Triumvirate, with no two members from the same nation. This MBS is no better than the other MBS! I also think that the present owners of F1 are a disgrace and should be made to leave it. They are ruining the sport.

    Having lived in the UAE and worked in motorsport down there, there were always major questions and stories about how MBS managed to win and retain 14 Middle East Rally championships. He always seemed a bit of a law unto himself: friendly but you were never quite sure about his actions or motives. Money has definitely paved his path to FIA president. Would I be surprised that he had been involved in corrupt activities? Not in the least.

    F1 has always suffered from the sickness of greed since the days it relied upon sponsorship. Too much money dangles before entrants and those who scramble for the scraps and crumbs. Today its taken to a whole new level with Sulayem -- the drivers (and teams) themselves could well get together and REFUSE point blank to race altogether. Its not like they'll be worried about where their next dinner comes from!!! Its been done before, if memory serves me correct when Lauda & Co refused to race at Kyalami in South Africa in the 80's or 90's.

    The FIA member states really need to look hard at how MBS got to be 'El Presidente' (and potentially how senior position candidates are identified and vetted) ... and how they can rectify, 'legally' and obvious risk to the organisation's (FIA's) and its ongoing credibility..

    F1 was always a bit suspect with Mr Mosley and Mr Ecclestone but Jesus H Christ this Guy is on another level, he is, single handedly DESTROYING the organisation and the sport.
    It will take many years to rebuild the FIA structure bck to what it was before all those GOOD people were fired - Greed is a dreadful disease!

    People forget that Sulayem was a very successful Rally Driver, and was chosen by Bernie Ecclestone to create Grand Prixes in the desert. This guy has been involved in Motorsports since 1986, and it was an American company (Ford) that got him the FIA delegate position with UAE

      He was a successful rally driver for Ford and Toyota between 1986 and 2002. It was Ford who got him the UAE FIA delegate position, and in 2007, Bernie Ecclestone asked him to create a second desert GP. This guy has all the necessary ties.

    Oscar Piastri gave him the respect Sulayem deserves by hitting his arm out of the way when he went to shake Oscars hand. Sulayem and Liberty Media are going to ruin F1 if allowed to, but one can't do it without the help of the other.
