@@adelok I am honored if any of my weird sounds are of use to you in your own practice, my friend! Sending you strength on your guitar journey, my friend!!!
Been playing Guitar/bass since around 77 (Ace Frehley/Lemmy you know) and have some Guitar/Bass builds i´ve done on a amateur level.. Never thou had the thought to chop the neck to another lenght when i thought it would make the intonation impossible..Are there ways to go around that..I mean you can only move the bridge so far/near as it goes.. And what about the trustrod? Maybe i´m thinking like many others, dont mess with things that´s working.. My Adhd (that i today see as a big inspiration source) has a lot of ideas but it usually stops there because of "you dont do so" and it can´t be done because of... Have always wanted to do an electric Lute with 2 necks..But in my way.. Thank you for making me think and giving me inspiration. From Sweden.🙏☮
There are a lot of cheap and or busted guitars out there gathering dust. I think the best way forward for you might be to just start experimenting with some of those. There is a calculator online that will tell you the necessary distance between frets for any scale length, to obtain correct intonation. With such a shortened neck a truss rod might not be necessary but you could cut one shorter and put new threading on the cut end (or have a machinist do it for you). I'd like to hear your twin neck lute in action. Go break something!
My friend! I am in awe that my sounds are reaching you from such great distance! The neck of the Future Lute was custom built. It is 25.5" scale, but only frets 12-22 if that makes sense. It is as if you placed a capo on the 12th fret of the Esqire 9 string. It has a custom truss rod that was made in the way suggested by the most excellent @@dongkhamet1351 . I would also love to see your electric double neck lute!!! Thank you for listening and sending you many positive vibes from just outside Detroit, Michigan, usa!
@cyruspireh I think that you're the type of artist Rick Beato and other channels should be interviewing and giving a larger platform. Thank you for creating such unique, enticing, and fun music man.
Good vibes Cyrus! I really appreciate seeing you explore and develop your ideas. Such a unique style. I wonder what your thoughts might be on the feedback from my ears. In motorik I was really tickled at 9:00 - 9:05 with that lydian-type sound implied by the first chord. Seems like a delicate modulation from where you’re coming from that could develop further. Additionally I like hitting that minor chord at 9:33, which could be a more drastic modulation later in the piece and open up to tonality and further possibilities. Your dreams are my ESQUIRE!
Thank you for these suggestions, my friend!! I will try to incorporate them!! I am at the stage where I am trying to build a basic exercise to practice this strumming technique. I am feeling good about the "bass" note, but want to find a way to incorporate more on the upstrokes from the index finger. Right now I am in my typical lydian mode grips. i want to try and do more than just bar across the top three strings. More investigation is needed.....
Thank you, my friend!! I am using the scarf to soften the hard edge of the instrment so that it doesn't dig into my arm as much. I had noticed a loss of circulation in my hand after a while. The scarf helps with that and also helps me remember to not clamp down as hard! Thank you for listening and sending you many positive vibes!!!
If I may inquire, where are you based? I should love to play music together some time. I play mostly Spanish guitar, sing and tinker with all sorts of instruments. Bit out of the loop but I used to play in groups, perform, record and so forth. In any case I am delighted to have recently discovered your channel for myself. ¡Artista!
Of course, my friend! I am just outside of Detroit, Michigan, usa. The internet is our tool! We can send tracks back and forth! Thank you for listening and sending you many positive vibes!!!
Your video with "simulation" in the title has 13k views currently, which is like ~40x the average. I feel like there's a message to be interpreted there 😬 (simulation theory confirmed?)
