"When I created the original Learn To Ride A Skateboard DVD back in 2007, I wanted it to be available for free and I wanted to create the most detailed and thorough skateboarding instructional video ever made. Looking at other videos available for sale and posted on the Internet, I'm proud of the fact that Learn To Ride A Skateboard still provides more information and more detail than any other skateboarding video in the world. I'm stoked to be able to update a few parts and share this Special Edition of the entire Learn To Ride A Skateboard project on TH-cam for everyone to enjoy."

who on earth could dislike this! you helped me out A LOT i have a lot fewer bails and no injuries
i started skating two years ago and did not know half of this! this is now my fav TH-cam video! you are cool!!!
so true, smashing into kids that are just learning to skate is a full bummer. Gotta keep yer eyes open for sure.
Nice video, really comprehensive. I just watched the whole series. Thank you.
You should skate street! Learn the basics at your driveway or something similar then take it to the obstacles of the real street!
ProDesigned in Texas. He makes some of the best knee and elbow pads you can find. They are more expensive than the typical ProTec pads in most skateshops, but well worth the investment.
It's hard to break a habit once you get into it. The only way to "unlearn" pushing mongo is to practice pushing the other way. Remember, like everything with skateboarding, it might take you awhile to learn. Just take your time and be patient with yourself.
Absolutely. Check out some older skate videos from the 1970s in the first skateparks. That's the kind of size and shape of boards they used back then.
That is Valley Park in Burbank. Great beginners park. Be sure to check the hours though. They are open at weird times. You don't want to go and find them closed.
You might want to wait a little longer until you're pretty comfortable on your board. Once you're comfortable on your board you'll be able to work your way up to grinding along the coping :)
At the beginning, Etnies in Lake Forest, California. For the main part of the video, Valley Park in Burbank, California.
You will never find a good skateboard for $20. A cheap skateboard will cost you $60 and good skateboard costs about $120 or more. You can find some nice complete boards at SoCalSkateshop. Just look them up on Google. If you really want to learn about the parts and types of skateboards, watch the other chapters in these videos which teach about the parts and assembling a board. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. I hope watching all of them will help a lot. Have fun skating!
Everyone learns at a different pace, so it might take months for some or weeks for others. The basic rule is this - Don't go to the skatepark until you feel confident in your board-control. If you constantly lose control of your board and it goes flying into other skaters, they're going to get pretty angry. Before you go to a skatepark, make sure you can ride and turn and stop with confidence.
Find out when the small one isn't as crowded. Usually first thing in the morning, parks are kind of empty. Or, go to the bigger park and just start out doing smaller tricks.
wow this should have more views!
so yesterday i went to a skatepark for the first time! my first dropin to a ramp with coping went amazingly. its so much fun, but i still cant knee slide. ive managed to stay standing when i fell off, im not doing anything that crazy. what sort of thing would be good to practice it on? also could you make a small video on some flip tricks? or at least shuvits since everyone needs those.
this help me a lot
Can you guys do something for the cruiser board? I am having lots of trouble with my ollie!
if u ride goofy (facing the left of the board) try riding normaly (facing the right) and vise verse that worked for me
I only started to skate properly a month or so a go so i was wondering do u need 2 be able 2 ollie if u dont like street skating and u wanna do park stuf i.e bowls
I also was wondering if Amazon skateboards were good?? I found one for $33 by Andy Macdonald, is that okay??? I also watched all of your videos and they were great!! I espically loved the one about how to drop in and stuff.
i push with my back foot. its really hard for me to push mongo regularly. ive been skating for like 1 year now and now when i try to push switch to do switch tricks i push mongo switch.
in my own little theory you will probaly push regular when ur switch.
Hey do you know of any good and cheap skateboards? I have to buy it so it has to be reasonable not like $80. Maybe somewhere around $20-$50. I am also 13 if that matters (like what type/kind or how long the skateboard needs to be.) I am going to buy this before the summer so if you could reply ASAP it would be great! By the way I loved your video, it really inspired me. Thanks
ohh thanks :) but is there a way to do a turn i saw the other chapter but it dirent pretty much help
we don't have skateparks in belgium for beginners, only advanced with huge ramps :(

What about rollerblades? Hmmm?
Indiana Jones font at the Beginning LOL
You never need to ollie if you don't want to. Skateboarding existed for over 20 years before the ollie was even invented.
if you're not religious go sunday morning everybody will be at church or if you're new to the skating scene go to yard sales and get small ramps and set them up in your driveway that's what i do when i can't go to the park
Hi
Kids in the 70s illegally snuck into back yards and drained pools to skate them. Now the city gives you a pool to ride and you don't because of a few broken bottles? Bring a broom and clean up the glass!
You will never find a good board that is pre-made. You will have to go and have one custom made. I just got one last week for $103.00. Zumiez actually has packages, a silver, which is 89.99, gold is 99.99, and platinum is 105.99. In your situation, silver is the way to go. That's what I did.
is it o kay too ryde my skaybord bakwards? Or will the mongo wahinies yell at mee and say I have to bye a speshal one?
I call mongo mongos
